Owner has just rang.  Welcome home Jennie and a big THANK YOU to the ladies who rescued her and to JulieS for alerting us last night to her being picked up.  Owner took his other three dogs to the RSPCA and got them CHIPPED as well.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Welcome  home Jennie, you are one lucky lady, that dual carriageway that you were on is one of the fastest roads in the area,  Thanks to the ladies who took the time and trouble to catch her and take her to a place of safety.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

EXCELLENT NEWS just had a phone call from owner looks like Jennie is on her way HOME and is in Godstone RSPCA.  Owner contacted his local DW and they rang back saying a Rough Collie fitting her description was handed in on Saturday.  Owner had rung the RSPCA on Saturday but was told she was not there (she may have been handed in after he called).  He is on his way to pick her up and they are going to MICROCHIP her as well.  Once it is confirmed she is home she can be moved into the BLUE.  This news has made my day and look foward to seeing her in the blue.  Jan xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well it shows the woman was genuine if she took the dog to the animal centre and risked her life saving the dog. Thanks for the update Julies as it now means we have an area to be looking in that maybe we would not have been looking in before.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As this occured over bank holiday it would depend on which council and a message being left for a call back- if no one on duty. i dont suppose we have any more details about the car?? i have alerted Maidstone dog warden and will check with the main kennels they would use. Hopefully the people picking this dog up will notify the correct authorites- even better they log on here!! JULIES Ive sent you an emailLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to owner he did contact Animal Mission on the A217 and they said someone had taken a Collie in on Saturday but they had no room and the lady was on her way Maidstone in Kent. Have advised he contacts DW in Maidstone.  Fingers crossed this is Jennie and the finders get in touch.  If anyone knows contact numbers for rescues in the area can they please post until local Co-ordinator can advise on who to contact.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This dog was running in the middle of the A217 on Saturday afternoon by Stubbs Lane at 5.30 pm two women and a motor cyclist were in the road trying to catch it, I stopped and put my hazzard warning lights on to stop the traffic.  The dog was safely captured,I did call out to the women to look at dog lost.  The dog was very nervous and looked a lot younger than the five years it is stated as.  I went up to the next roundabout and drove back down to where the women has picked the dog up but they had completely dissapeared.  They seem very genuine people and certainly put their lives in danger to catch the dog.  I am sure that he is safe somewhere.  If you need help with posters please shout as I only live down the road.  JulieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to Jennie’s owner for further details, explained how to get a photo to us by mobile phone.  Sorry to see Jennie is missing.  Thanks for putting her details on DL, we will do all we can to help you in your search for her.   You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible.  You can print them as soon as we upload a photo by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information but will need to be logged in.  Have asked her owner to update us on who has been contacted ie DW’s etc.  A comment can be left by selecting  Add a comment   just above other comments,    Good luck and hope she is found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
