Have spoken to Skipp's Mum.  Poor little man was found by a stream about 1 month after he went missing.  No-one knows what happened but it seems he could have fallen victim to heavy rains which swelled the stream.  Such a sad end to his long life, but thanks to the kind man who found him and informed owner, he is now buried in the garden.  Run free now at Rainbow Bridge with your friends little Skipp and watch over your Mummy on her happy wedding day soon. x

So sorry to read that Skip is now at Rainbow Bridge. Skip's poster will now be removed from Doglost folder at Vet's Surgery. RIP little man.

Still thinking about you and little Skipp. Try not to give up on him, you just never know. KEEP POSTERS GOING UP and checking out Rescues, RSPCA, Battersea, local Councils, etc. if you can. You'll see that little Shadey & Cassie our local Dachshunds in Suffolk have been recovered all due to the determination of their loving owners - a long story and not all on these pages, but a happy ending. If it hadn't been for posters and media coverage (very important) they probably wouldn't have been back home. I know you have to move on but it's early days yet. Please Skipp take care. xxx

thank you for your messages. The telephone number on his tag is not in use, so nothing from there. We moved about 18 miles away and stayed with my fiance for a few months before we moved around the corner from his house. So he is used to the area we moved to. I truely believe some kind person saw him wandering and has probably driven to where they live and he is out of the area. I have tried far afield Banbury, Witney, Oxford as well as around Chipping Norton, Chipping Campden, Shipston and Moreton so quite an area covered. Appreciate everyones kind words and am astounded at all the support with posters etc this site has helped to put up for me. I have seen them around too. More than I expected. Thank you so much

SkippyJ I think your words could not fail to bring a tear to anyone's eye and I am sure that we all understand how you feel ~ it must be terrible for you. Now, one thought occurred to me, I know we alll know what a pappillon is, but do you think there is any possibility he may have been picked up and "classified" under another breed? Another check around of everywhere you have already tried would be well worth doing.............is the telephone number on his tag still in working order? If so, does the person on the other end of the phone know that Skippy is missing, and how to get hold of you? Does this change of number indicated that you have recently moved? If so is he trying to get back to his old home? Sorry if I am covering old ground, but its best to check!

I look everyday for news on little Skip. This is truly heartbreaking. Where ever he is he knows Skippyj that you love him and could never have had a better life.

Hi everyone. Still no news at all. I do begin to wonder now with more than 2 weeks gone since he left and no sightings at all if this is it and I will never get to say goodbye to my little boy. At 18 I don't think he has too long to go now. I just hope whereever he is now that he has a pampered lovely life until the end. wish I could have given him one last hug and a kiss. Thank you all for all your help

Gave poster to Howard Arms, Ilmington they kindly said they'd put it up. On way back to Suffolk we came along the Chipping Campden - Banbury Rd. (Skipp's old home?) and I put my last poster up there but need to be lots of posters up all along there & in villages between. He may have headed in that direction either on foot or by car. Posters are probably Skipp's best chance at the moment & as many as poss. Entrances to parks, dog bins, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, POs, Takeaways, Dog training clubs, car parks, lamp posts, notice boards & anywhere there are people! Also print off lots of small flyers from the Info page above Dolly's Directive logo on here & put them through doors. Sorry I can't do this now but hope you can find time, SkippyJ and all other helpers so that he can get safely home. xx

I'm heading back to Suffolk today and so sorry we haven't been able to find Skipp while we've been here but will keep in touch with his page and hope there's good news soon. Paul O'Grady is a VERY good idea, not sure if he's doing lost dogs at the moment but it's well worth a try. There certainly seem to be almost more people here who are not local (mostly from London) who could have picked him up! So I would definitely try Battersea Dogs Home and keep trying, they are usually very helpful. Thanks for your appreciation SkippyJ, Greylady - and for coming on to say hello to Skipp, Beardies. Thank you everyone for your continued support. My gut feeling is that some kind person saw him and has taken him home for safety in their car and may be they are not local since no word or sighting. I am going to Try the Paul O'Grady show. May be a long shot and they might decline but nothing to loss. -Thank you

We've been looking for Skipp everywhere we drive, do wish we could see him. The Churchill Arms at Paxford have put a poster up in the bar. Have all local vets been sent a poster? If someone has him he could easily turn up at one. I've sent you a pm SkippyJ. Come on, skip on home little chap. xxx

Thank you all for your messages and hard work. Really appreciate it. I did go around the Dog rescue places and even back to the one nearer where I used to live in Banbury. No news but they have all taken posters. There is only a pub in the village and they have a sign too. One of the girls at work has taken posters to Chipping Norton too even though that is further out, but who knows. I asked a few radio stations but nothing yet. Thank you

One more word, I always hate this one, but do check all ponds, pools and any other water in the neighbourhood and ask people to do the same. Hopefully they won't find anything. You've obviously gone through the house & garden with a fine tooth comb. Try and get local newspaper coverage and do bombard his old area with posters too if you can. Sorry to give you all this work it's easier said than done I know! xxx

I've put more posters along roads, & in Dress Shop and P.O. in Chipping Campden. Skipp's mum, can you do small posters to hand out to people, dog walkers, car windows, etc.? If not DL may do some for you to print off, just send me a pm. or ask them, they're handy to keep in pockets. Also leave out posters with a note for milkman, paper man/lady, dustmen, postie, & anyone who delivers in the area, they are usually very helpful and see a lot. Is there a School nearby because children are very watchful and I'm sure the School would put a poster up. There's a field of sheep nearby, have you checked that? My little Pom went off after the sheep at the grand old age of 16yrs once - perhaps he thought they were Poms! His eyes weren't that good either. Poor little Skip, I hope he's safe and sound. Do keep checking all Rescues and Wardens as someone could easily have taken him and there's no way of knowing where his home is. Good luck. xxx

Nice to speak to you Skipp's Mum, I'm so sorry he's still missing. It seems he just escaped through the gate and despite all his Mum's efforts to search for him he's still not home. Council says he hasn't been picked up on road which is good news, I'm not sure if you've tried the Rail people? Also vets, dog Warden have been contacted and I know you're off to visit Rescues. I've managed to print off some b/w posters and have put them up in Chipping Campden library, Stretton-on-Fosse Service Station on A257, Morton-in-Marsh Co-op, Pet Shop & Market House Tea Room, and Blockley Crown as well as some on roads. Drove round looking for him and believe it or not found a different dog wandering on the road, luckily he wasn't far from his home so a lead & biscuit got him back there! Could Skipp be trying to make his way back to his old home as I know he's recently moved house? Prob worth sending posters to people in old area to put up if it's not too far away. Keep safe Skipp till you're found. xx

A BIG thank you! to everyone for all that you have done to help me try to find my Skipp. Noone has sighted him now a week on. Lots of people have seen my posters and asked but nothing else as yet. I am going around the dog homes this weekend too. Thanks so much.

I'm on holiday in Chipping Campden and there are no posters up for little Skip here. I can't get near a printer at the moment, are there helpers in the area who can get posters up? Poor little chap, do hope you're safely home quickly. xxx

I've emailed a dog trainer in the area and a pet food supplier. I've seen the details appear on a number of dog internet chat lists I'm on so word is getting round. I'll circulate to some more. Fingers crossed he turns up soon.

I've forwarded to Papillon people I know and asked them to crosspost to any of the Papillon lists and other Papillon clubs. I will also contact the Papillon breednotes in dog press and ask them to publish Skps details. I hope this little lad is found safe and sound soon.
