I must have been lucky with my police officer, he did have to dig around to find the report. They have just installed a new system for reports and are still getting used to it. Sable, I didn't get an email but got your PM and have replied giving my new email address - you may still have my old one.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sable and ANWI, it was I who sent Doglost the info on the labrador x found at Broxburn, on Found page today. I'm trying to get more info on this dog - the gender would be a start! Just been on phone to a helpful policeman who is going to call me back. I got the info from a message on Gumtree, and the person who found it describes it as breed unknown but resembling a long haired white labrador. We definitely need to follow that up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Phoned owner tonight and she is desperate to find her dog. She has contacted local papers, police, rescue centres and printed flyers. She is hoping to get some press coverage in the Daily Record to widen her search. If anyone is in the area and can help, please PM me or leave a message on site.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That's the good thing with labs and retreivers. They are very food orientated, which has it's down side, but at times like these may have it's positive side. Good luck and best wishes. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

SIGHTING....We have had someone searching with the owner all day....and is still out looking for the evening. Many reports of sighting near chip shop last night. If anyone is local and could help this would be greatly appreciated. Angel will be being lured to food atm and if she was successful last night at the chippy will return. Locals to the area will know there is only a chippy and chinky there so stake out is easy..... She is staying local to where she bolted so there is hope.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live in Carluke - have printed some posters and will see if a couple of shop keepers will let me put them up in the town centre and will put some near train station. Having found 3 dogs in the last 2 years can I please stress that you DO NOT rely on the police and go and check the Bothwell Bridge & Cardonald SPCA Homes on a regular basis and keep in touch with dog warden. The police here tend to only make a small note if you call in and report a dog found. When the desk sergeant changes this information often does not change hands (disappointingly). I am only saying this form experience of finding a dog, letting the police know and when I eventually found the owner, discovered she had called all the same police stations I had (AFTER I reported her dog found). Good luck, please keep us all up to date.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live in Wishaw and do a lot of driving all over Lanarkshire. My own dog has been since February so I know how it feels, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for her. Best of luck! RossLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

OWNER< Posters need to be put up in the area on lamposts, entrances to parks and strategic places in parks, vets, petshops, carry-out food shops, local shops, supermarkets, community centres, schools, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins). Deliver flyers to houses & pop through letterbox. Hand out flyers to people in the street, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. Rescue centres, and police offices need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows the dog, because your dog?s breed may not be recognised by other people. Also police are sometimes too busy to do much about it. Get some media coverage if you can, by asking the local radio station to broadcast him as missing and put an ad in the local newspaper with a picture of him. Make him too hot too handle. Best wishes and good luck. Hope Angel is found soon x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
