Welcome home Dolly, so pleased you are home. She looks identical to the lurcher I rescued a few weeks ago, having been thrown out by the gipsies after giving birth. Stay safe. XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoke to avery happy owner. Basic story is that Dolly was stolen from Woking and very quickly moved to W Sussex. A friend of the owner offered to help find her - spread the word that he wanted a cream lurcher bitch fitting Dollys description and as a result Dolly is home - no more detail on here as owner is just very grateful to get her home. She had been run on clay as her feet are caked in it. She is very tired and quiet at the moment but has been checked over and has no injuries. Lots of cuddles, sleep and treats (custard creams are her favourite!) to come! Owner again thanks everyone on here for all of their help. Im going to meet Dolly later in the week for a cuddle - cant wait! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dolly is home safe and sound -recovered in West Sussex at 9.30pm and home by 11pm - to late to phone. As Surrey Police refused to log her theft as a crime - only an incident it will give me quiet pleasure to tell them they could have had a solved crime on their books tonite Will speak to you Monday morning but Thank you for the wonderful support I have received and the kind thoughts of so many who buoyed me up at such a terrible time. I will arrange to meet with Paula in Byfleet, who has been an absolute tower of strength, Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Similar (but Lurcher not Saluki) dog stolen on 4th Feb with similar MO (lunchtime whilst owners were out - info on Lurcher Search) from Beenham Berks. Dog ID=12388 The two locations are 'close' especially by motorway. Time, location, MO and appearance - there might be a connection - is it worth highlighting to police? Peanut was sighted loose day after theft. RickLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Taken from the house is indeed very scarey. What do we have to do to keep our dogs safe these days? Somebody called at our house two days ago asking for an address I'd never heard of in our area. Hearing mine sounding off, he said he had one of my breed and could he see mine. I said no but you can see them through the window. He looked. Told me he'd rescued his from being ill treated. He quoted a well known affix. I checked the Breed Records later and there was a litter registered that fitted, but I was more than concerned when his van (small white, marked) appeared in the road outside later in the day. Took the reg.number, just in case. But ....... ?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have been alerted by Text from PaulaK - I took a little break from DogLost. Will put an alert on Lurcher Links 'Lost and Found'. Could Dollys owner please follow it up with adding Dolly to the Lurcher Search database. Kaye at Lurcher Search has contacts in the 'working' Lurcher world. IMHO it is likely that the motive for Dollys theft lies in that direction. RickLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have talked to owner. Dolly is the smooth haired variety. I have seen a picture and she looks to be reddish/gold going lighter as you go down the legs, some white on the muzzle. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just spoken to owners wife. Owner is currently out (has been since yesterday) putting up posters, going to vets etc. Have asked for a photo to be sent to admin - if they have problem have said I will go over and collect photo so we can get poster on site and mailed out. Police, RSPCA ect all informed. Contacting micro-chip company this afternoon to double check they have all right info (though she is sure they do). She was taken from inside the house in Kingsway Avenue, Woking between 11am and 2.30pm yesterday. All help locally gratefully received!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
