I used to think that what goes around comes around, and a better life everafter was there. After 5 deaths of friends and family including my furbabe in less than three months last year I have lost all faith and now I believe that this one life we have needs to be protected at all costs and the person responsible for whatever this poor dog had to live with deserves nothing less than a jail sentence but I have my doubts it will happen. Penny, I`m sure you would have done more if you really could have done but as you say behind closed doors who knows what happens and at the end of the day there are just not enough people in authority who are there to follow up and protect the vulnerable. It makes me want to withdraw from the world when I think of all the cruelty that goes on and the millions of animals suffering at the hands of humans. Sorry to rant, just feel for this poor dog.

His name was Elmo, I know who owned him and left details with rspca. Thank you to the lady's that helped him! I'm so sorry I didnt do more for you darling! Who knows what go's on behind closed doors. I hope they throw the book at her.

Loving caring family who took Buddy to the vet. Do we know the circumstances of this poor dog? Was he stolen? Did he run off, and got lost? Or abandoned? RIP+ Buddy
crowdys
We were the family who took him to the vet. My daughter called him Buddy. It is very sad but at least we know he was loved and cared for in his last 24 hours. Happy that you are now running free - you touched all our hearts xx

So very sad to know this babe has ended with Rainbow Bridge, but thankful for the fact that he was in a caring place as he left. Is it possible to have a name seeing as the RSPCA have his details now, it would be so much nicer to at least have that for him?

Ohhhh, I am so so Very sorry
RIP Gorgeous Boy, at least You Passed in the Care of Loving people & not on the streets as a stray / abandoned & in pain at the end of your life xx

I hate to seeing any dog lost but the oldies really do tug at the heart strings. I have a 14 year old cocker and would be beside myself if she disappeared. As details have been passed to the RSPCA I guess this is a welfare case. Poor little boy. You're in a better place now where you will be loved. RIP x

Owner located and details given to RSPCA. I believe this dog is now at Rainbow Bridge. RIP lovely boy.

How very sad, whatever the circumstances, that this lovely old boy has been found straying. Whatever the outcome for his future, at least it looks as if he has a nice clean bed and is being cared for. You do have to wonder why dogs are still not microchipped .... any dog in a loving and loved family would surely have been microchipped earlier this year at the very least, when it became law? So I do wonder if this dear Golden Oldie has been somewhere he was never meant to be and now has been dumped. I hope he is given every chance possible to survive and thrive in a loving home with someone who cares.
Jane
I would also donate if needed to help him. I work and have 2 dogs myself but would happily have him with me whilst he recovers if the RSPCA desperately need somewhere. I don't live too far from old basing and I have a quiet household, apart from the budgies that is. ;)

this is when the magic of microchip is amazing........... sadly this poor dog, like thousands of others lost and found dogs, has no chip. hope every single person who has a dog has them chipped............. it makes a world of difference to the dog, the finder and the owner.

It is possible that he has been lost/stolen rather than neglected by family. We simply do not know. Poor old fellow.Last edited: 2017-09-25 11:07:16 by Owl

Bless this beautiful dog - it's so sad people neglect there family members so much. I wish they would give them up for rehoming rather than make them suffer...xx
Mary
Is there any chance this could be Lost 36850 Sooty missing since 2012 from RG9. Sooty is described as shaggy coated cocker, so may look like a cross.
