We have just 'awoken' our post on Poppy - hope it helps bring her to the surface too https://www.facebook.com/groups/PAWhelpingdogs/permalink/468225246853648/

I'm still email businesses for Poppy and still getting responses from kind people posting and sharing for Poppy. No response from the owner either. I don't know what anybody else is doing if anything at all to find Poppy. Has everyone given up but me?
Lashram
I've posted well over 1000 emails to businesses across the region and still going but have stopped counting now. I've had no response from any volunteer helpers. Am I the only one bothering?
Lashram
A great big THANK YOU to all the businesses responding to my email postings for Poppy. Let's hope it works to get Poppy back home safe and sound.Last edited: 2017-05-19 18:08:49 by Lashram

700 email postings done to businesses from Alston right to the west of A1M between the rivers Tyne, Tees and Wear. Don't think Poppy would cross these formidable obstacles.
JulieT
Looks like the sighting in Hartlepool was a false alarm, but there is a definite chance she is trying to make her way back to Hartlepool, so we'll keep looking.Last edited: 2017-05-11 15:25:02 by JulieT

Made Louise and Julie small 4 strips to an A4 page flyers if anybody wants any. Save paper and ink or it gets expensive. Contact Alison for my (Andrea) number if anybody wants any.

Louise previous owner in Hartlepool alerted and is looking.

A lady called Doreen Barclay spotted a dog like Poppy bolting up Oxford Road, Hartlepool earlier. She followed it to St Cuthberts Church, Hartlepool, then lost contact. Can anybody have a scout round please?

Spoken to owner. She is concerned that Poppy may be heading all the way home to Hartlepool to her previous owners. Possible she can smell the sea as the wind is currently blowing from NE off the sea to inland. Can Hartlepool volunteers be alerted as well please?

I have shared with DL FB Page, Twitter & Public. I hope Poppy is safely back at home soon. X

Thanks Alison. Am doing some flyers as usual for them.
AlisonH
I have posted her page on the Doglost North East areas Facebook page in the hope that there are local helpers who can assist the owners.
Lashram
Can an area coordinator contact any of these ladies on the numbers on the poster please? I am being asked for help from them. Are there no helper near Butterknowle? I am in DN33 area so my help is limited but I'll do what I can. Any input would be welcomed please!
Butternut
Sadly nothing. We desperately need another sighting as we are fearing the worst.
terrierlady
Is there any further news on Poppy?
JulieT
Just spoken to one of the people who reported Poppy on Tuesday and she is adamant that the dog she saw on Tuesday is Poppy and not the Collie. So there could be 2 black and white dogs running around Woodland area. We are looking for a small terrier sized dog. Really need a report of a sighting to help Dog Trapping Team target a trap area.
terrierlady
Has anyone informed Raby estates gamekeepers?
JulieT
Was driving round the area just now with Louise and saw the dog on Crane Row Lane this morning that has been reported. It is NOT Poppy!! It is a mainly black collie with a white chest and a white patch on it's back/shoulders. Was running around in a panic trying to find a way out of the field.
JulieT
Yes, dog trapping team now involved. Had another sighting in Woodland on Tuesday 11th at 4pm. Poppy's collar is pink and she has a very distinctive tail that curls over her back like a pug's.
OliviaS
Somebody on Dog Theft Awareness North East UK posted an hour ago that they saw poppy on crane row this morning (had a red collar, very nervous). have you tried posting in this group Dog Trapping Team, who help trap dogs https://www.facebook.com/groups/297059070692410/
Lindsey
Is there anyone living in the area who could form search parties please? It's getting desperate now. Thanks
JulieT
There have been the following possible sightings:
Friday 7th midday - entering Raby Castle Estate
Tuesday 11th - a number of sightings on farmland around Woodland and Softley. mentions a "reddish" collar and no mention of Poppy's distinctive tail, so may not be her.
Lindsey
Hi Poppy is registered with our Romanian charity. There was possibly a potting this morning in Docklands. Who is the main Dogs Lost person please so I can make contact? Thanks. Lindsey
terrierlady
Have farmers in the area been alerted - lots of lambs around at the moment - maybe contact farmwatch if not already done.

Spoken to the girl who, at 8.30pm last night, followed Poppy all the way up the fell road and into Cockfield where she turned off into Bleak Terrace. I put a poster at the gate onto the Fell at Bleak Terrace this afternoon. Fingers crossed we get a more up to date sighting but at least its something.
JulieT
Just heard that someone saw her late last night heading towards Cockfield Fell but she was either on or near the road. She will run if chased.

Sorry to see that POPPY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (113446)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
