The dog at Battersea cannot be a match as suspected. Battersea dog Anwi posted about is confirmed to have been signed over to RSPCA by owner prior to the date Jay went missing. So keep searching everyone. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a big livery yard at the end of Jotmans Lane (fields go right down to railway line) with stables, barns etc, and someone I know owns it so have already emailed and text her details, just hoping the contact details I have for are still valid as its been a few years!! As well as keeping a look out for Jay at the yard, also asked her to put a poster up at the end of the lane. Yasa - think Jayne may have emailed SS postcodes as I am near Southend and I received one.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kyramia, I'm so sorry Jay has gone walkabouts. Do you know wherabouts in Canvey Way he was sighted? I've been looking at the map, and am wondering which side of the railway line he is travelling. If he's the Benfleet side there is quite a bit of green land there with the playing fields, Hope's Green, and the bowling green. Just trying to work out how he is getting on to Canvey Way. He could be using Woodham Rd, and up towards Jotman's Lane. Looks like there is a reservoir between the railway and Jotman's Lane also. He'll be holed up somewhere cosy at nights, so look for stables, or anywhere like that, and a water supply. I'm also wondering if posters have been mailed to Benleet helpers or just Canvey. Jayne, can you tell us please ? We've got SS7 and SS13 right by SS8. Would be nice if they were all mailed please. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Today I gave my friend who works at Acres Way a poster to put up in the reception so it should be on show now, my friend also lives on Canvey so will keep a look out. I was at Benfleet station today and yesterday but didn't see any loose dogs. There is a dog training club called Cheyne Canine Concepts 01268 755545, they train in a field near benfleet station every Sunday at 10.00am it is a popular club with a lot of local people there so it would be worth taking some posters there. The field is just past the wildlife sanctuary in Watlington Road, Benfleet, when you drive there it doesn't seem that near the station but there are footpaths at the back of the field that go near to the station. Hope Jay is home soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to the owner, she has notified local dog wardens, vets and police. Castle Point Council phoned her to inform them that a member of the public sighted a dog they believe to be Jay at Benfleet Station this morning (7.30 - 7.45am), and they had another sighting on Canvey Way a couple of hours ago (3.30pm ish). Owners have been down to both areas looking but no luck. Jay is like a staff in appearance, but with a longer nose and the size of a Collie. He went missing from the Waterside Leisure Centre end of Canvey. Owner is desperatly trying to find someone local who can print out some posters - CAN ANYONE HELP? If she cannot find anyone more local I will print out and she'll drive over to me to get them. We need to get posters up to get some more sightings as he is obviously on the move.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live in Thundersley a few miles from Canvey but will keep a look out and print of a poster to show my dog walking freinds. Have you tried Acres Way they take in stray dogs in the Castle Point and Southernd area. My friend works there so will try and get a poster to them this week. Hope you find Jay soon. Phone no. for Acres Way is 01268 770402. Castle Point don't have a dog warden they use Southend Councils warden but their is a contact no. at Castle Point Council for stray dogs etc. which is 01268 882315Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi kyramia. I have emailed Jay's poster to Benfleet, Basildon and Rochford dog wardens and also to Gemini and Novem Kennels. You need to display his poster in as many places as possible, for example popular dog walking areas, noticeboards etc so lots of people are aware Jay is missing. Also notify local vets and try and get posters in shops, supermarkets etc where a lot of people would see it. Hoping Jay is safely home very soon. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
