Sorry you have had no news yet.....but continue with your efforts and it will pay off. When you move, ensure that you update your contact details with the microchipping company, that way, no matter where you move to the chip company can contact you if Spike is found.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pubs/takeaways/taxi ranks etc all good places to poster! Lots of people hanging round takeaways waiting for their orders etc. Are there any hand car washes local to you? Maybe worth speaking to owner to see if they would mind you passing posters to the cars that come in? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for your pm. Have you asked in the library about doing posters from an email? If you can get someone to do a couple of coloured ones then you can get them copied, try photo shops etc or a print shop. Email me your home address and I will send you some to get you started. I've contacted Keelah (Press Officer) and she will help with a media story, can you find out what papers are in your area? If you ask owners of other dogs missing in the same area they may be able to help. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spike's owner, you do not have to waste time doing the vets. I have listed them all over a wide area and am working through them. Good luck with the postering. You just need that one poster in the right place to get him back. Thank you for offering to look for other owner's dogs. It's wonderful when you all help each other. Keep up the good work. Spikes owner, type (Dog Rescue Kennels BL1) in www.google.co.uk and you will find places in the area to contact. Have you checked with Greater Manchester Police 0161 872 5050, also PetMedics 0161 794 4999 (they pick up stray & injured Dogs 24/7). Keep going to Manchester Dogs Home in Harpurhey 0871 918 1212 and Leigh Dog and Cats Home 01942 671215/671612. If anyone in the area knows of rescues etc to try would be grateful if you could post the contact details, thanks. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Yasa, you are a star. Spike was on medication and the vet was in the process of doing tests to try and find out what is causing the skin problem. If anyone wants to get a message to his owner can they send a text direct or pm myself and I will pass it on. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Right, that's fine. Just needed to know about the sores and blisters before I wrote to vets. I will just say the cause is unknown, but Spike on medication. Sounds like could be an alergy. Have come across this before with other dogs who were sticking their heads in certain bushes in the garden that were causing the reaction. Will get cracking asap. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have done the smaller posters and sent to jazzi to put on the Info Centre (left hand side above Burns Logo). If anyone in the area could help Spike's owner by printing some off and distributing would be greatly appreciated. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to owner who is very new to the Bolton area and needs help with postering. Has no internet access apart from local library and using her mobile to log onto DL, which is very limited and costly. Yasa will speak to you regarding the vets, which is needed a.s.a.p. Spike is under treatment for his sores, which are mainly from his collar to top of his head. The vet does not know what are causing the sores and blistering, Spike is on medication so by now they will be very noticeable. Spikes owner would like to pass on her thanks and really appreciates what everyone on DL is doing to help and support her. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Will check all our records at work from 13th October onward. However I'm not back in until Sunday night, but will make it my top priority. All Dogs taken from Bolton now go to Leigh Cats and Dogs Home, owner needs to make personal visit to Leigh, not just make telephone enquiries. Also check with Greater Manchester Police and Bolton Dog Warden etc.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
