A very late note to say that we now have a possible sighting (from a car, hence the 'possible') by PaulaK of JRT A just to the south of Chertsey Bridge on 6th Dec. She was being walked with a dog that may be JRT B. PaulaK has been out that way and kindly put some posters up. This fits with the earlier possible sighting in New Haw, which lies on the same road as the approach to the bridge. This is encouraging helps motivate me to keep up with the poster maintenance locally (Woodham and Camphill tommorrow). We are currently waiting on permission from JRT Bs owner to put the dogs names on the posters.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is now a specific reward for the return of these two, UKP 600 for the return of both, UKP 300 for one. Can this be changed on the posters please?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hope the two are home very soon. I did speak to Kark in the end Friday eve, I only got a good look at one of the two JRTs but it looked very like this one, with a tail and a really lovely looking dog- very bouncy and looked young. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unfortunately these were not the dogs, Karl phoned and the description wasn't 'our' two (IIRC one is 'hairy' rather than smooth for a start) then BonBon very kindly nipped down with the posters and doubly confirmed it. :(Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Geography not too good but just wondered if the two JRs taken to Binfield could be JRA & JRb missing from West Byfleet?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Having read the posting about Binfield Dog Rescue I phoned Karl to see if there was any news. He had spoken to them and was almost certain the two dogs were not his. However, as the rescue is only 10 mins from my house I went to double check for him. Have spoken with him again to say they are definitely not his dogs. Have left posters at the rescue which have been put up on their office board. Lots of ROTTIES there at the moment. For info, website address is www.binfield.dogrescue.net and they assure me all dogs are checked for microchips. CaroleLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just spoken to Karl to tell him that there are two jack russells at a dog rescue sanctuary in Binfield (Wokingham) that have just arrived having been found together. Dont know anymore info, but best he checks it out soonest. Someone I work with came in today to say they had been there at the weekend to take some food and blankets in, and then went on to list all the dogs they viewed, including two JRTs. Fingers crossed!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Update: I have just learnt that there is an issue with the data entry for this chip. I don't have the full story but it may effectively be a blank entry. So if a JRT (possibly a Parsons JRT) of the correct age, description etc. turns up with a dodgy database entry it could be 'JRT B'. Nicky, the owner, (Karls ex) is trying to locate paperwork etc. to correct this. The entry for 'JRT A' is up-to-the-minute.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spent this morning out with Jenny and her son (our keenest youngest new helper - thanks!). Postered Byfleet shops and down Mill Lane towards river. Also went to Ind. Estate next to fair and canal, squires on the road to Addlestone and dog training class behind Mouchel West Byfleet. Checked posters are still up at Sheerwater end of canal and put some more (colour) posters up at car park for Horsell common. Spoke to some builders in Byfleet at 2 sites and gave them posters. Jenny has roped in some more local helpers and they are going on a late walk along canal tonight. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Might be worth putting one in the large garden centre in the road that goes away from the canal bridge roundabout towards Addlestone - lots of people will visit there this weekend (the one with the pick-your-own) and a pub nearby. There's the small industrial estate next to where the fair currently is - the end place that does worktops for kitchens has a resident old dog and they would notice if there were two extras around!! Lots of little hiding out places in there too and people to play with! Also tescos, tescos garage and M&S, New Haw & Byfleet station - lots of people coming back on a Friday evening. Then you have all the other industrial units going towards tescos under the railway bridge - they must back on eventually to the canal?? I'm committed the next two days but Sunday is free if you need further help!!! Paula has my contact numbers... Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Managed to get posters up outside West Byfleet park, and some in Byfleet this afternoon. Rosemount vets has colour posters as well as black and white now (thanks sandobes). No calls today to owner but urgently need more posters up around New Haw (SBT Karl said you may be able to do some tonight?) I cant get out this evening. If you put some up can you post on here where they are so I can focus on other areas. I probably wont have time tomorrow but should be able to get out Saturday..... just aware of time ticking by. Posters are still up outside fair in New Haw and canal at that end.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have met owner (desperate to get his babies back) and given him a pile of posters. Managed to get a few up directly outside entrance to the fair near White heart pub and a couple in the pet shop at New Haw. Also a couple on the bridge near White heart where the traffic grinds to a halt at rush hour. Will get back over to him this evening with more posters and will start to blitz the area. Stay safe little uns your owner really misses you xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows the dog well. Stay safe little girl, until you are home x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live in Byfleet so just a couple of miles away - will contact local pet shop today and ask them to keep eyes peeled as wandering dogs often get taken in there while owners are located. Call me if possible sightings as I can be there in next to no time - will PM my number - please pass on to owner. Will also contact friend who live on the canal to be on the lookout.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Slight misinterpretation of a long EMail - the 'day' number is only for cases if DogLost wants to contact the owner and can't get through. Its mine, not the owners. All reports should go to the 07811 107834 number. I'm the owners neighbour, Rick. The owner Karl has no Internet access so I passed the info on for him. Another neighbour who can pass messages more quickly should be along later today. Karl is wary of publicising the dogs names, hence JRT A and JRT B. He, and his ex (JRT B's owner) have done many of the things usually advised here, postering locally, contacting the Dog Wardens, local Railway staff, the local Vet etc. I will check with regard to police and some of the other ideas. When these two have wandered previously they have turned up on the waste ground behind Camphill Industrial Estate in West Byfleet. This was checked but probably should be again.
