Sorry for late reply been very busy with pack and family plus new born very busy house hold haha
We are very grateful for all the help that we have been given and the kind words from people I don't even know. It's wonderful having her back she has fitted right back into the pack with no problems really she is now flea free and cut is healing nicely thank you so much again for all of your help

I'm so happy to have her back, just wish I known what had happened to her she has a nice cut on her leg and she's had fleas but this will be sorted she's had a nice bath and now playing with her sister 😊 Vet check next xx

Well done owner, CJ and the wonderful police lady (we need more just like you, spread across the UK forces! ) relieved to see him in the car on the way home at last! Keep her very close and safe xx personally, councils must not play God and review all evidence of ownership ...the microchip must take key proof otherwise what is the point! If you buy on sale sites it is really important to check if the dog you are buying is not already lost or stolen. No one has the legal right to sell a found dog ....as for the buyer ...they take the risk of monetary loss (caveat emptor!) xx

I just wish we could of spoke sooner like I asked but never mind she had also ask to talk to me, but now we have this is sorted and she can go back to her own name as they changed it when they bought her.
People should be very careful of buying off gum tree it should be stopped.
So pleased we have her back. Not long to go another hour ish then home xxx

Has been a long 48 hours waiting to say - CHUNK REUNITED> he is on his way home now.
The person claiming had only had Chunk since December after buying from an advert- after discussion they agreed to let him go back to Leanne.
Ive updated a photo of him on back seat as on his way travelling now.

I legal action is your only recourse, perhaps CJ can help? And write to your MP, is there a local government ombudsman? Worth contacting. And ring the chief executive of the council, plus write to him marked 'personal and confidential'. Kennels aren't a position to make the decision I think.

I'm doing my best I promise, I really want her back then straight off to the vets for a check up me thinks, just to be safe. I've been next to the home phone all the time apart from when I'm walking pack but then my mum or dad is there so I don't miss any calls. If anyone knows of anything else we can try info would be gratefully received x

So it's the 10th January and the other people the kennels say claimed her haven't got back to them with whatever info they asked for...there's a message there I think! The kennels say the lawyers opinion is his! Do they know what a lawyer is? Do they know what Petlog is? On what basis will they make the decision and how long before they realise the other people possibly aren't getting back to them?

The police lady for dogs is helping and she's talking to a high call sheriff, we have also spoken to a lawyer. Plus petlog said the dogs papers are all in my name and she needs to be returned. Spoke to kennels but they said the lawyers opinion was his 😔 So I'm waiting to hear back from police lady to see what's to be done next she's been in there since Christmas it's so wrong x

😓 no they still won't let me have her, the other people have not got back to them yet. I'm not aloud to see her and still don't know where there holding her it's so wrong everyone has said and agreed that I own her but they won't give her back. We're beginning to think we're not going to get her back what's the point of paying to register kc and chip if you don't get your family back safe x

if two people are claiming and one has all the paperwork and other can't produce any proof of ownership then it should be a no brainer where the dog goes. Hope the complaint brings some progress! suggest owners real names are removed from kelly's post for security.

Here's hoping CJ that your intervention reaps rewards for Chunk. Kelly - you have hit the nail on the head by stating "If the dog had been bought by somebody else who was a loving caring and responsible new owner then like myself with my dogs any chips that were registered before you bought the dog you would immediately re-register to yourself. Not doing this shows lack of responsibility". I thought this was the whole idea of the microchip system!

I have finally managed to speak with council and have been advised to put a complaint in an email which i have sent off.I have also cc the same email to the local mayor in hope he can also take a look.
They explained might take up to 3 days to get back. I have given contact details of owner. lets hope that something is finally sorted out.

This dog needs returning to its rightful owner which is registered on the chip . They can show photos of the dog and are the rightful legal registered owners. New laws are prosecuting people for not chipping their dog, what is the point in these new laws if you were going to ignore the details on the chip anyway?
If the dog had been bought by somebody else who was a loving caring and responsible new owner then like myself with my dogs any chips that were registered before you bought the dog you would immediately re-register to yourself. Not doing this shows lack of responsibility and the fact that they have not put in the effort and the care to look after this dog and it was found on the streets shows it should be returned to the people on the chip who are obviously showing much care and attention to the situation as they love the dog. The dog needs to be in a good loving home return it to Mr and Mrs Edmons where you can be sure it will be looked after and get the care it needs.
Kennels and charities are always requesting more money and support because apparently you do not have the facilities to keep the amount of dogs that need rehoming. How comes in this situation you have two people contacting you over the dog including a rightful owner registered on the chip, yet you still are keeping the dog, all of a sudden have many facilities to keep the dog and obviously the funds to support it.
Chunk is the sibling to my dog and the thought of her having to live in a kennel is very upsetting please return her to John and Leanne who will always do the best for her.

Have spoken with owner also with petlog who have take details from me. Their view is that IF the council follow the procedures that they recommend then Chunk should be returned to the person on the chip which owner who has listed Chunk on this site. I have also asked advise of a high court sheriff and if they have a legal document then again Chunk must be returned to them.

I've spoke to solicitor he said to phone kennel and tell them I've spoke to him and I've got all paperwork so they need to let her go. But the kennel still has her she said there's two people trying to claim and there waiting on them giving evidence. I ask who they was and what they had but she wouldn't tell me so I still don't know where our baby is, still can't collect. Been told they will phone us tomorrow and update us 😓 So no change and she's still stuck in kennels. I'm so grateful for the support and help I've been given just want her back x

Hello the family that had the dog didn't want it any more and she went missing she's been found but I can't collect as there's 2 females saying they own her but we have no idea who the hell they are. We do not use our pack as breeding machines. I've got a fb page for our pups and know where they are and see them. But this one has gone missing before I could get her back. The people trying to claim her have never been house checked by us and didn't buy the dog so I don't see how they can claim her. We want her back as part of are family not to re sell. If everyone that's dogs had pups had to take them back if things went wrong with owners there wouldn't be so many in wanted dogs out there. She's my girls daughter and belongs with her mum and sisters an dad x

Well what a lovely start to the year!!!! Firstly, CHUNK did you sell the dog or did you gift it to the people claiming it? Secondly has it grown up with that family? and for how long? Thirdly, with the chip details still in your name, at least the new owners are on the case,even the best of owners can loose their pets, especially this time of year.The reason i,ve commented is the fact that we had a similar case with a full litter of pups still registered to the breeder and one by one as they got into trouble.The breeder claimed them back,gave them to his mate to re-sell and gets two bites of the cherry, and i do know this is common practice,especially with bitches where they are kept as breeding machines,,And not always in this country.. I am not accusing anyone but there are always 2 sides to every story.MICRO CHIPPING has it,s good points, but as with any new laws there are a minority that abuse and find ways to dodge what is FAIR..I can take you to at least 17 dogsitches that are in HORRIFIC circumstances, border line cruelty cases,puppy farms etc.where the good old micro chip ensures they have NO escape..I am so pleased I DO NOT breed.HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all, DOG LOST is the best thing that,s ever happened to the dog world.keep it going JAYNE and CO. I'm hoping they phone tomorrow with good news been told I won't hear tonight so she's in there tonight. Wish I could see her so I know she's ok it's not the same a kennel warden saying they phoned and she's ok how do I know she really is ok xx

Hello I did ask if they could phone them but kc said they don't do that he said all my papers which I have are good enough he said everything is in my name and she's been flagged so no one can change owner ship of her 😊

Cant leave till I know I can pick up and from where as they won't say where she is being held but she's not with them as warden said she's phoned where she is to check how she is ? So not with them just want her back already it's a joke why phone me to say she's found to put our family though all this heart ache and they might not give her back. sat waiting by phone where I've been all day xx

Chunk. You say in your earlier post that the Kennel Club have confirmed the dog belongs to you. Do they have anyone there that can speak to the wardens to make sure Chunk is not given to someone else and is returned to you. If you pay the release fee by phone, before coming to collect her the long drive shouldn't be in vane.

Maybe they can advise. I guess it would hinge on the contract between you and first owner not to rehome. If this was a written and signed contract it would help you to reclaim. I fear if the dog warden hands to other claimant you will need to pursue via small claims court and go for mediation.
I do wonder what evidence this claimant has produced.
You should be allowed to check on Chunk's welfare at the very least..

I'm not sure who she is as I've not been told. My girl had pups and a girl had one off me, pup went with papers saying not to be rehomed and had to come back to us if not wanted. She's was with the girls sister as new partner didn't like dogs and she's gone from there in august she's been found in lewisham but a lady has come forward saying she owns the dog. I've been on the phone to kc they agree she's mine as chip and papers in my name and owner Relinquished custody back to me. We just want her back so we can vet check to make sure she's ok and settle her in she will not be rehomed she will stay with us
I always thought paying for chip jab etc kept our babies safe but no you can't even get them back without all this. I'm feeling very down and like I've failed

Chunk ..there is an online forms for claiming stray dogs might be worth filling this in too and if possible keep a copy..just search Lewisham stray dogs and select claim a lost dog but keep phoning too 0208 314 20 98 for dog warden

It looks like it would be Battersea Dog and Cats Home but in neighbouring boroughs Greenwich and Bromley it is SDK. I believe you can fill in a form for Battersea online reporting the loss.

She was scanned and they phoned our vet who got hold of us on the 30/12/16 we spoke to a man call George gave him info he ask for but said he needed more and they was closing for hols so she was being moved on to another kennel. I have kc paperwork birth line chip ect but he needs more info before I can have her please help us get her back
