  • Other Info Rolo is very friendly and looks much younger than his age. He tends not to bark since he became deaf, he will only do a tiny little cry so he may not be heard. Please keep checking sheds, outbuilding's or any openings he may get into but may not sense his way out of as he get's stuck in corner's and keeps butting them with his head thinking it's the way out when it's not so he could easily tire himself out. There is a substantial reward for Rolo's safe return.

did the local paper do a story for rolo? if so can you tell us name of paper so we can read it. do hope the sightings are of rolo, tho how a dog who is deaf and nearly blind could survive since 17 november is amazing, but dogs are amazing and many have survived despite all sorts of problems. keeping fingers crossed

Jill had another call from a lady yesterday, the lady said she saw a small dog possibly with a rough coat in the Olley Rd area of West Runton at 3pm...it was a very quick flash as is he had to avoid it so could not catch it....she thinks it was defo a Jack Russell with a tri coulered roughish coat and it was loose....again no confirmed sighting but she was good enough to ring and report it.....
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Yes, Baydogs, the golf club is aware that Rolo is still missing and are kindly displaying a poster for the owner.

Jill had another call this evening about 9.30pm from an elderly gentleman saying he saw a Jack Russell type dog loose running by Coltishall church....he wished he had tried to pick it up but he had not seen the piece in the paper till he got home then thought he should have done....so again not a confirmed sighting but if anyone travels that way or lives that way please do keep a look out x

Has the golf club had a recent reminder that Rolo is still missing?
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Jill has received a call this morning saying a Tri Coloured Jack Russell was seen on the main road near the Cromer golf club.
If anyone this area please keep an eye out for this little dog.
Baydogs
Thanks for the update Helen. Disappointing for Jill and all who attended that Rolo was not found today. However, it will help to keep him in the mind's and thoughts of the local people. Do hope that that The Eastern Press run a good article for him. An old lad like this is very special. It would make a wonderful Christmas story for them if Rolo was found.Last edited: 2016-12-18 22:47:21 by Baydogs

There was a good turn out today for Rolo's search, thank you to everybody who was able to attend. The Eastern Daily Press newspaper reporter came along too and hopefully will be doing another article for the paper.
People again searched the area including hedges and ditches and also done another door knock in the area.
Sadly there is no news from the search today but Jill would like to thank everybody that came x
JulieH
Hoping for good news x
Baydogs
Good luck on the search this morning everyone.
Baydogs
I know it's a busy time for people with Christmas preparations but....
I'm absolutely certain that Rolo's return would be ALL Jilly would like for Christmas.
And I'm equally certain that would be Rolo's wish too.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
There have been quite a few responding to the request on Facebook so hopefully there will be a good turn out, will keep you posted x
Just hope there will be news tomorrow for Jill x
Baydogs
Helen, do you know if many are able to make the search party tomorrow morning? Unfortunately too far away myself, but would love to see a good turn out for this sweet Oldie and his owners.
Thinking of you and Rolo Jilly x
NickyB
i hate to see the oldies missing - good luck everyone and hope he is found safe and well. water seems the biggest danger to old dogs with poor sight and hearing, even garden ponds, streams etc. if he doesnt have an id tag on collar its always possible some well meaning person is caring for him - assuming he has been abandoned. of course finders should always inform dog warden, but doesnt always happen. stories in local papers MUST HAVE PHOTO should help. good luck

Sorry to see Rolo is still missing. When I lost my terrier last year, slightly older and similar to Rolo, deaf and poor eyesight, she was eventually found after two weeks, not far from where she went missing. I think she must have walked in circles, and got totally disorientated. Assuming he hasn't been picked up, he might not be too far away. Praying you find him very soon.

Sorry to see that ROLO is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (107645)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
