I have spoken to the owner earlier, suggested they go back to the police and insist Sophie is logged as stolen. Her collar was not fastened when found so not slipped off by accident. It was carnival night so lots of people about, no reports of sightings. The families other dog is still at home, the back door was open so that the 2 dogs could go into the garden which is secure. Owner was at home and heard nothing.
