Owner not replying to text or answer phone.
Maybe there is a good reason like has no transport.
Is owner saying they will collect.
Is owner picking up phone to you Dog warden?

Rio has still not been collected. Owner is aware of where he is but has failed to contact the kennels. I will contact owner again.

I have just phoned owner of lost dog and there is no answer.

I text owner today .
They put the dog as lost on another site.
I hope they did not dump their own dog.
I would have picked him up this morning
Giving them a chance maybe they have not got transport.

Basildon DW....what I mean,t was....I gave her your phone numbers and the Vets phone numbers so she could phone you after I had matched the dog, but as far as Basildon Council and Cherrydown vets told me...she did not phone you..or the Vets.....I do hope she collects Rio today. X. If it had been my dog and someone had just rung to say they knew where it was, I would be on the phone before you could count to one. Xx

Doglover, owner called everyone she should have called but in Kent where he was lost from, I am very confident she will collect him :) NickyB we always advise on chips and tags, no tags are my pet hate. I am sure Petlog will chase the change of ownership up as she had reported Rio missing to them.

basildon dog warden when dogs are collected i do hope you emphasise how important it is for their dogs to be identified by a chip which is invisible to most of us, and with the easy to read old fashioned id tag

Thanks Doglover, I have spoken to owner and hopefully she will collect Rio tomorrow, quite how Rio ended up in Basildon is a mystery. I suspect that someone found him on the way home and bought him back here, I wish people would leave them in the area they were found, makes it so much easier to reunite.

The details on Rio's chip were still under the old owner and the temporary details for the new owner were logged but number incorrect. We would have caught up with her eventually by post but thanks for the help :)

Telephoned owner of Rio on National pet register told her to phone Cherrydown Vets...Rang Cherrydown vets back and let them know owner will be phoning them.They advised Rio now with Basildon dog warden...rang Basildon dog warden with all details.....they will hopefully contact owner....

I have just phoned Cherrydown Kennels where the found dog is being kept. Have given them the information from the National Pet Register....and it looks like a definite match....they will log into National pet Register and contact owner.
