Had our hopes built up then dashed yesterday, Pipa called to say there was a young lab that had been taken in to Millbrook (RSPCA Chobham) - she went flying over there but it wasnt Tynor. GuttedLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have toured around area where Tynor possible seen but nothing. Area is well postered though. Spoke to Pipa tonight and she had a call from someone who thinks he saw Tynors collar in the river about 4 weeks ago - it had been taken off (not damaged) he called now as he has just seen poster - Pipa has left him a message to see if he kept it or threw it so we can check it out. Lady tried to catch young black lab in the same area on Thursday - it was looking lost and ran off - it was wearing a brown collar and tag - maybe someone took/found Tynor and he has a new collar, maybe another dog. Waiting for more calls....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Postered as follows: in West Clandon village and by West Clandon Station, Grove Heath Lane/Gambles Lane area between Ripley and Clandon and in Pyrford Village, by village hall. Thanks Sue - he was alone both times. Have been out again this morning - left some food by the scout hut where he was seen getting out of the river and done more leafleting again. Are there any types of "traps" that might entice him??Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pipa, do call if you need another pair of eyes. The quicker you get to the sighting the better and the same with help. Don't forget the boat people on the Wey, they are usually happy to display a poster in the boat windows and of course they often move around the river area along with others passing by. Hope this is getting closer to finding him at last. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Gosh, been a roller coaster for hte last 24 hours - we had a call last night from a family in Send who thought they had seen Tynor so everyone was out searching - but couldn't find him. We went back this morning, postered everywhere again, leafleted houses and searched hi and low - but couldn't find him. Got another phone call this evening from someone who saw him in same place as the other family but saw him this afternoon - so I have been back there again, but still nothing - so will do more leaflet ping tomorrow and more searching - its all along the River Wey Navigation behind Send but still in the centre of Send so lots of people to be fed by which hopefully means he will hang around. I am very hopeful!!!!!!! x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pipa - handed out some tynor posters at bootsale yesterday - chatted to a few people with black labs and told them about him - more eyes now looking out for your boy. Hope he is home soon x Im off work thie week (apart from Wednesday am) so if you get any calls etc that you cant get out to give me a ring and I can cover it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pipa Ive printed a load of small posters of Tynor to take to the A3 bootsale tomorrow. Feel free to pop along if you get the time as you might even grab a bargain and all proceeds are for Doglost!! Any news on the police today?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you Jane for your message re microchipping, its funny as I was just on the phone to Paula before I got your message and she said exactly the same, and that it is very rare for them to be taken out - so I am glad for that!!! No body was to be found on Slyfield Ind estate - so I take that as a good thing, maybe it was a black plastic bag that was seen and then blew away - you never know. Police are going back to the street to try more houses tomorrow re the address we were given - we may have miss heard a number so we are working on options ie could be 60 or 16 - hard to tell when its a second hand message but apparently the informer had an accent so still could be good news tomorow - I keep hoping! Thanks Paula too for all your support, you have been amazing! Sian, no calls yet from press, I have bought some papers today just to see if anything was used - will check tonight. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

OK, the officer that went round was wonderful - but it turns out that the family is of a culture that doesn't agree with keeping dogs as pets - and he checked 20 other houses in the street and none had seen a black lab. Also had a message now just coming home that a dead black dog has been spotted up near the dump in the Slyfield Ind Estate - I can't check it out as its bedtime for the children so will send husband over hopefully tomorrow. Not nice.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a phone call with potential address for Tynor. Someone called to say they knew someone had acquired a new dog who looked just like Tynor - so we called Police as he is reported as stolen and have spent the last 24 hours going to and fro trying to get them to actually look into it - they originally said they wouldn't send anyone out as there was no firm evidence (which I thought was their responsibility to find!!), but finally I have convinced them to send a unit with a handheld scanner, they said it will be done in the next couple of days - it could be nothing, and I'm also hearing stories of chips being easily removed??? So we shall have to see - I'm tempted to go and do a stake out myself, but I don't want to blow the opportunity! FINGERS CROSSED!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keep positive Pipa and keep postering - it only takes one poster in the right place to get noticed and Tynor could be on his way home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Pipa
Still nothing - please keep postering!! We are going to do the A3 side of Ripley tomorrow as alot of traffic makes its way through there. Sainsburies in Painshill were really helpful at letting us put up posters inside the store, staffroom and in all the trolley shelters too. We must find Tynor, the house is empty without him - he's only 5 months old and is best friend to my 3 year old son who now is ready for this "adventure" to finish and for him to come home - I do hope so!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, give a poster to Pets at Home I think it is in Woking - White Lion Retail Park (I think that's what it's called - where Currys, Halfords and Focus are, along from the station). They've always been really helpful in there and were so pleased when I told them that Digby had finally be reunited!! Another thought with supermarkets/large shops and garages, etc, ask to speak to the Manager and see if you can get a poster put up in staff rooms - always lots of coming and going there - more eyes! Will be back in postering mode next week, had so much housey stuff to do - hang in there Tynor, we'll find you baby!! xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had an interesting call that Tynor was possibly spotted early monday morning by the canal in Knaphill near the big Sainsburies. Its now Thursday so unlikely that he will be there still, but we are about to go and flyer the area anyway. There has been a sign all week up in the pet shop there as Paula suggested. At least its a sign that he is still wandering on his own and potentially therefore not stolen!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have chased up press release Pipa. Keep up the posters and consider a wider area of coverage now. Any helpers in the area, please let us know where you are putting up posters for Tynor so work isn't duplicated. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keelah/Sian, did you get my email with all the details??? Definitely want to go with Press if we can! The more I think about it, the more I think he was snatched - cat miaowed but never ran anywhere, I didn't consider he had been taken at the time but following various conversations, and now remembering a very suspicious character taking random photos over the road at our local park last week - I was with the dog and the children and was more concerned about photos of children, hadn't occured to me that he might be "shopping" for a dog??! - I'm not convinced anymore that he just ran off. Pipa - have you put a poster in Pets Kingdom yet - petshop on the hill in Knaphill? If not try to get one there this morning they are open 10 til 1 on Sundays I think. Loads of animal lovers get in there and also if someone local has "acquired a new pup" they may need all sorts for him. Tell whoever is working that Paula from the New Haw shop suggested the shop. The girls there are very good and will help if they can. Im hopefully free later this afternoon so will give you a ring for a catch up then. Stay safe little Tynor, we are all looking for you xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have been out this afternoon following up one sighting in Woking town centre - very vague so might not be him and having spent hours asking people and finding all answers to be negative, we're not sure as to whether its a good lead or not - but so far, thats all.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you so much everyone for being so caring, I'm overwhelmed at people's response!! Sadly so far we haven't even had a sighting - so please please keep spreading the word, he's the most beautifully tempered pup we could have ever dreamt of joining our family and we are devastated. As soon as Admin receives a photograph, the poster will be emailed out to helpers. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Tynor well. Stay safe baby Tynor, until we find you x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
