I have been over to Gt Henny, no sign of any dog. The farmers are really helpful and they cant think of any dog locally it might be so you never know. They have all my numbers and are calling her name when they walk their dogs. It is a good 40 min drive from me, it seems such a long way for her to have got. But it is a very isolated area, lots of fields and woods. I really am finding it difficult, but i keep hoping. Good news is Afu her daughter seems to have settled down a bit. Hello everyone, I have just had a call from a lady who saw a "very big dog" in Gt Henny again. This is the very field/wood that a dog was seen in August. I have been there hence why i was called. I dont think it can be Nala, she is quite small for her breed no bigger than a lab. Does anyone know of a dog missing from that area? I thought it was the farmers dog but they are the ones who saw it this time. Gt Henny is near to Sudbury. I will go tomorrow and look around again, to dark to do anything now. Decribed as very large, grey and dark with a long tail. Anna Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nala has now been in four news papers, the Suffolk free press, evening star, front page on the Hadliegh advertiser and the essex echo. I am getting the hang of these reporters, but at least it gets her in the news. Hopefully someone will see it. The Sun is my next paper to try!! I just dont feel she is not coming back and i really feel it is just a matter of finding her. So i wont stop trying. Wish they did not have to tell the whole world i am 40! Hello everyone, Do any of you know of a dog trainer in suffolk, Afu, Nalas daughter is having a hard time on her own, she is getting worse and worse with strangers. She wont be left alone at all, so i am always having to work around her. She now sleeps in my sons room. I am worried that she is getting more nervous not less. We have been giving her loads of attention but it does not seem to help. Any sugestions welcome. Anna XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I went to rettendon this week and saw the dog warden who lives next too the Gypsy sites. He will keep a look out for Nala. I also went to the Watton horse sales. Not a nice place to go, lots of puppys for sale and a dogs with forsale signs around their nexts. I did not see any dogs that i know are lost, but I did see a blue doberman, which I though was very unusual but it was not for sale. If it was i have bought it home, i am sure it must be stolen. I am very tired from all the travelling and disapointment. I will keep loooking and hoping, thank to everyone. Anna x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I went to Gt Henny, gave some posters out and walked around the wood, also saw the farmer that owns the wood. They do have a Rottie, which does wander so she may have seen that, the woods from the farm yard is only a field away. Rettendon is very close to basildon, essex. Famous for shooting of drug dealers in a Range rover. AnnaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dane, you must mean Gt. Henny a mile or two south of Sudbury and about 6mls NW of Nayland. Hope this is Nala! Don't think it's advisable to go onto sites, anna, but ask experts on DL, and stick posters all around area of site. Check out Lurchers missing in ME, and also Blue found in same area (TN) - to name but a few! Good luck, I haven't forgotten Nala. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Don't hold your breath about policing at Watton Horse Sales. When I complained about puppies and other small animals being sold, the police said they would not enter the site as it was seen as being confrontational, the RSPCA would not act without the police being present, and the police would not act without a vet saying there was an animal being abused/ill treated. All they care about is whether they are using the wrong sort of diesel in their horseboxes. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Jimi, my daoughter works at the crown, they all know but not that keen on posters. Have got one in the local shops, i have done the farm shops, Hollow trees, but i missed corn craft, i know the owners so i am sure they will put on up. I have a friends son putting them in with his piza leaflet in and around Sudbury, my Mum has put loads up to. I still had them out to any dog owners i see and every place i stop. I went back into Stow police today, to remind them. I also met a CID officer from Dereham police at Lakenheath shooting ground, he is going to find out about policing at Watton horse sales and get some help for me if he can. It is all i ever talk about, i am a mortgage broker and i have to give documents to people when i met them, i now give a poster too!! I will go to corn craft, tomorrow. Also Sudbury, Bury, Stowmarket, Hadleigh, Kersey & Melford? Corncraft at Monks Eleigh worth a poster - lots of people + some pet supplies. Sorry to pester, I know you're doing everything possible Anna. Just wish I cld get over there more. Friend of ours looks around each time he drives through Hitcham. Some good news, the paper in Sudbury is doing a feature on Nala for Thursday. Hadleigh police sent out a warning about missing dogs in the area. So the reporter called me. Someone told me about Watton horse sale on the first sunday in september. Do you think people could be collecting dogs to sell there. I will be going but i will have to take someone sane with me or i might come back with 50 dogs and horses. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone, it is really good to have so much suport on this. I am so glad Florence was found. It would have been horrible if her owners had to go home without her. Nala was in the east anglian and star, lost and found pet section on Monday. I have faxed and emailed over 50 vets in and around the area. I have spoken to and faxed copied of the poster to Ipswich, Hadliegh, Stowmarket, Sudbury, Bury St Edmunds and woodbridge police stations. I have called all the local auth. in Suffolk essex and Norfolk. The post men all have copies of the poster. I have given it to anyone walking driving a bus, on a bike horse, tractor, combine. I am really not sure what to do now, i have done every thing i can think of. I have also done radio and TV. I have even been into and spoken to the local gyps. site. Any ideas, should i go to the local town Stowmarket and put posters through doors asking for poeple to check sheds etc. Nala unless injured is a very agile dog and would get into and out of most places. She even goes under gates. I am suprised i have not had any reports of a dog eating someones chickens, she rather likes then, which has always been a problem. Thanks for all your help again. To far away to help on this one this week, sorry. Can you get helpers to go knocking on doors around the area where Nala went missing and ask residents to check gardens and out houses? If Nala hasn't been seen at all then she is probably holding up in someones garden. You probably wont be able to do every house but ask the ones you do do to tell neighbours. Good luck. I have just had a call from a friend who saw a weimaraner with a tail in Woodbridge, Suffolk last night. She did not think it was Nala at the time but now is having doubts. The dog was walking loose behind a woman who had another dog on a lead. She said the dog looked older and was limping, the woman also kept looking behind to the loose dog. I have called and faxed over a poster to Woodbridge police station and called all the local vets to se if they are aware of a dog like the one described. A police woman called me back, she knows the breed and is not aware of any local weimaraner with a tail. The vets are aware of only one, a boy and too far away to be walking in that area. It is over 25 miles from us, but i will go down to the area tonight and see if i can spot the dog if only to discount it. AnnaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi all, lets just hope that is Nala who was spotted near her old home. Its interesting to note that often when a dog goes missing, that if they have recently moved to a new house they will return to the old house even if it is miles away. By the way Jimi that phone number you put up, 0147 340740, should it be 01473 340740? anna, sorry there has been no news, please please please do not lose heart, poster poster poster. get everyone you know to put a poster in their car windows, every petrol station, shop, takeaway etc etc in as far a radius as you can go. she is out there and you need that one poster to do the trick. it may take you 1,000 posters to get there, but you will. just keep sticking them up!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

oh how disappointing for you BUT posters will not have gone to waste and itIS possible she may make for her old territory. Just more of the same as far as what you are doing and maybe the EADT would feature Nala this week? Does your insurance maybe pay for some newspaper ads? Free ads is a place you can put an ad for free with a photo etc I hope you get a positive sighting of Nala soon M xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just found out that is was not Nala that was seen, it was a Lab cross, that is now with its owners. So we are back to square one with no sightings of her. This has come as a bit of a blow, now i am not sure what to think! Anna Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Anna try and blitz those areas with posters,as then people will look out for her. At least now you know roughly where she is which is good. Bless her for trying to find her way back to your other house. She will probably be moving at dusk and dawn if the weather is warm.Fingers crossed you soon get her back. Stay safe sweetie. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No more sightings of Nala yet. We have put down food and sent near our old house. I thought about laying a trail like the blood hounds do back to here. Any ideas? Anna Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh thank goodness Nala has been seen. Wish I was nearer but will pass info on. Article on Lola in EADT will bring people's attention to lost and missing dogs, so hope Nala will be home safely v. soon. Pity she wasn't mentioned but was more to do with stolen dogs. Keep safe, Nala. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Some news on Nala, she was seen on Wed. night at Wallow Lane, Naughton, IP7 7BZ about 100 yards from our old house. We moved 4 weeks ago. I only found out last night and have been around that area ever since. No more sightings yet, but she may be heading back to Hitcham. Could be in the Wattisham, Ringshall, Gt Bricett, Offton, Bildeston area. Please pass this new info on. Thanks Anna Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

poster power is the way to go. Poster every where and everyone. There will be lots of teenagers now bored and wandering the streets so they will be good look-outs. Being out with their friends is more exciting than staying at home (even if they have no money to do anything) so looking for a lost dog and the lure of a reward could well be what Nala needs to bring her home!!! good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you everyone for your help, i am very worried about Nala, no one seems to have seen her at all. If you could all just ask everyone you know to keep a look out for her and ask their friends too. Hopefully someone will come back with some info. Thanks again, AnnaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I saw owners ad in gumtree stating that her dog was missing so called her and pointed her in this direction. So glad that she will now get the coverage for Nala and the support and advice she needs from all on DL xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Nala well. Stay safe until we find you Nala x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
