Sadly Michiko was found dead by the owner, she had been hit by a car.
Run free Michiko. So sorry for your loss Kay Louise :(

Apparently RSPCA Swansea picked up a pet racoon, wearing a collar, in a car park 29 July. Tel 0300 1238018

I have passed the sighting info onto Michiko's owner, Emma. She will go down there this evening with food to see if she can find her.
Have advised to poster area too.

Nicolapicola, your memory serves you well;the racoon dog that was lost in February was from Cornwall (Callington)and called Meeko. Still listed as missing. But it was a male.

I am having terrific deja vu. Wasn't this raccoon dog missing last year - disappeared on a walk? I remember having to look up what a raccoon dog was and never saw that it was reunited. Can't find it on the system now but pretty sure it was from Cornwall so presumably same one.

Had a message this morning from local RSPCA rehoming centre, some had rung them to say they had spotted what they thought was a racoon last night. Sadly she didn't give a location, other than in Truro, but I have her number & left a message for her to ring me back with the location, or ring owner. ( have given the number)

Have spoken to owner & it seems Michiko may have wandered out of the garden. She thought it unlikely, as she is nervous, but there is no evidence to suspect stolen ( as she first thought). Will email advice info.
Owner will inform dog warden/police/local vets etc & check allotments nearby, in case she has gone hunting for food.
