Owl that's a lovely post. I am delighted for them. I feel uneasy about what happened during his incarceration, the whys and wherefores, to have my faith restored I would like to know why the police classified him as a dangerous dog. And that's up to the police to clarify, not the owner whose desire not to create a "social media circus" I respect. But on the other hand social media got him reunited ;)

Jot Cotswolds, thank you for spotting him on the other website and posting him in our Found section. We spent hours searching the fields for this boy, and everyone knew about him. Sarah tells me he he has had a good supper and is now asleep. His Jack Russell companion didn't recognise him at first but they are now best friends again.

Just to let you all know that Jasper is home and settling in. He has a few bald patches which may be from being held in a crate, conjunctivitis which he is having treatment for and an overgrown coat which I am sure Sarah will be sorting in the coming days. Sarah is extremely happy and wants him to settle in without a social media circus, but she may change her mind when the champagne kicks in. So happy this boy is home, he was extremely fearful in the pound. Well done everyone for keeping this boy in the public eye :) :) :)

Sarah, just a comment on the microchips as apart from the fact they sometimes fail, our Border Collie was microchipped but when I asked the new vets to check it for the number so we could alter the contact details they said he wasn't chipped. I asked them to move the scanner around because he definitely was and the chip was located by an elbow so they do migrate. I hope you get your boy back and I am hoping that the found dog is Jasper as he sounds like he needs a good home and if he's been fending for himself a while he would act and look different. Praying for you all.Last edited: 2016-10-07 00:56:51 by Marbie

I am the owner of Jasper - missing NG13 area from July. The cocker spaniel found in Warwickshire on Saturday has now been taken from the Police Dog Unit and moved to private kennels. I am awaiting details of the kennels from the Dog Warden in Stratford. The dog found is an elderly dark older/brown cocker and he is timid/scared. Although scanned, no microchip has been found or can be read. I will update details when I know anymore. Thank you to everyone who is continuing to help.

could owner please update microchip number as would help if able to get through to police dealing. I do wonder if this dog was put in DD kennels for safe keeping - till could be collected and not because dangerous!
Skywalker99
What planet are Warwickshire police on? Can CJ help?
Jot cotswolds
the dog which has been found has been taken to the Warks police dangerous dogs unit..they won't give Sarah who owns Jasper the number to contact that unit as they don't disclose it to anyone- which puts a dogs potential owner in a no-win situation...she has been advised to contact the officer who dealt with the found dog..but he is not on duty today. very frustrating. Jasper was due to be clipped just prior to him disappearing and Sarah feels his coat would look exactly like that on the found dog 105513 by now

Sarah, have various thickets been checked as could have been caught up in them or barbed wire fences etc.
Sarah
Jasper is nine years old and in good health. We live in a rural area surrounded by fields. Tracker dogs have scented him in the nearby area but no sightings of him. Thank you
ClaireC
Sarah, please ask neighbours to check their garages, sheds and importantly if they have a swimming pool or pond. How old is Jasper?Last edited: 2016-09-04 12:15:45 by ClaireC

JASPER HAS STILL NOT BEEN FOUND. Could you all please continue to look out for Jasper. He has now been missing for nearly 6 weeks. We have had no further sightings of him but also no news to suggest that he is deceased. We just wasn't some news on him. Thank you.
ClaireC
Put a couple of posters in the Royal Mail post boxes. They usually display one in their sorting office and local postie will perhaps keep with him. Ask local estate agents if they will take a poster in their cars or office, likewise florists as they travel around.posters dog walks and poo bins are also good places to poster.

Hope Jasper is soon home x

Bumped to top for sighting in Flintham, next village along, reasonably close to home.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Update from owner....all posters have been removed....said some times the council does that...but most of the posters were put up in Parish council noticeboards...with permission...no other notices have been taken down from the board....The only poster that remains is on the owners drive way....Have asked owner to ring the council parish tomorrow to check...but from my experience on doglost...posters being taken down means someone does not want other people to see ....as 1 in 4 homeshave CCTV now advised owner to go to the notice boards and look for nearby cameras....and request to view...in my opinion people that install CCTV want to catch criminals and really dont mind scrolling through hours of footage if they can assist.
Sarah
Jasper disappeared on the 22nd July from his home. He is not a wanderer or an escaper and doesn't roam far from home ever. He doesn't move quickly and will not chase after birds etc. Some volunteers with dog trackers kindly came last night (25th July) - a scent was picked up from home along Flintham Lane, then back across the fields heading back towards the A46 Car Colston junction. No sightings of him. The family are continuing to search this area. Could all walkers etc please be vigilant when out and about and keep a look out for him - he will be disorientated and tired! Thank you so much.

From home.
