- Well done, everyone! Well done Shelagh & Ron. Perseverance paid off. If anyone sees a poster, please can they pull it down? Thank you. Welcome home Lola. Well done Matt for hanging in there. Hope Lola's doing well now. x

- Really pleased for this dog and all involved in her rescue especially athletic Ron :)
Hope your back and knee are improving today. - 2016-06-23 09:08 Allison
- THRILLED to read Lola is home. I lay in bed last night listening to the storms and all I could think about was Lola, I hadn't seen she was back home. This has made my day and brought tears to my eyes, I am so happy! xxx
- 2016-06-23 08:27 claire
- Fantastic news to wake up to! Thankfully she didn't have to spend the night in that awful rain and thunder. What an adventure you've all had and luckily one with a Disney ending. Come to think of it, I am sure Disney would be interested in the story for their next film. Then you can all live in luxury and Lola can wear a diamond and gold plated collar

- What a great rescue! Best wishes to Lola & Ron's knee! X

- 2016-06-22 23:59 Doglover
- Shelagh good job Ron managed to get out, otherwise a passer by may have thought they had seen a Zombie .......... Brilliant job from the both of you. Xx
- 2016-06-22 23:44 Shelagh
- Fantastic news! So so pleased that sweet girlie has been found. She has certainly given all of us the run around in last two weeks. Lola appears fine, she is very skinny, dirty, and prob has a few unwelcome bugs, but she looked so pleased with herself! Owners were absolutely relieved and delighted! Well done Ron for climbing into the cemetery, you are a real star!xx
- 2016-06-22 23:28 nicolapicola
- Well done, Ron, and thank you for giving us the whole story - it is always so interesting to read about it and be able to imagine the scene. Sorry about your knee (frozen peas and put your leg up) - hope it recovers soon.
Matt - can we have a "reunited" pic of Lola, do you think? - 2016-06-22 23:24 Rocco

- Shelagh and myself went down to where lola was last seen at manor park, owners were already there, shelagh stayed with mum at one end of the cemetery and i went to other gates with the son, as we pulled up i saw lola walking inside the cemetery and told son to call her over gently not shout, at first she shied away then reconized his voice and came to the gates where we were able to get her collar, son held her while i climbed over the 10ft iron fence and picked her up, went around to another part of the railings where there was a small shed, i lifted the dog on to roof of shed and got son to hold collar again while i climbed onto the roof and lifted lola over the railings into sons arms and told him to go straight to my car and get in back with lola and shut the doors, then i had to go back round the railings climb up and over again, unfortunatly twisting my knee and back on way down, but lola is home and thats all that mattersLast edited: 2016-06-24 14:49:31

- I went there today at 1730 while the gates were open and wandered around the whole of it for 1 hour. I saw a fox that disappeared into bushes within the cemetery near the side away from the flats (on the left by a tree/ forest area) but no Lola. There are 2 open entrances at either end so she could have run back to Wanstead Flats (lake area) or gone the other way. Or be hanging out in that wooded area with the foxes!!
I met the groundsman as he was locking up and he was the one that reported seeing Lola 2 days ago. He was pretty definite it was her. He said he has your number and will call you if she comes back in again. - 2016-06-21 23:53 Shelagh
- The cemetarys shuts around 5 PM according to notice board although they are open later occasionally. There is no access for a dog Lola's size once gates are locked,nt that we could find. Both entrances are posters and we asked a good number of people if they had seen her. The whitta road entrance leads directly to wanstead park avenue where she was seen running from wanstead park. It is a short journey cross country. We have posters by roads from whitta road to aldersbrook. Will need many more posters to get more frequent sightings fast,as more thunder is forecast on Thursday? Dogs can run with foxes Matt and on doglost a few years ago we had "captain" another border collie who was living alongside foxes. It is possible that the two with Lola are youngsters and maybe they want a substitute mum!
- 2016-06-21 23:24 Doglover
- Matt1337 unfortunately, although I used to live in Wanstead, I do not any more so,physically unable to help, but I know the area very well and I wish you all the luck for tomorrow. Xx
- 2016-06-21 22:30 sar
- Matt good luck for tomorrow on all counts. Sure Shelagh will advise. Usually involves tempting food in a quiet spot and lots of patience I think.!!!
Again happy to drive you over, - 2016-06-21 21:37 nicolapicola
- Shelagh (and possibly Ron) down there now looking for last hour and half - no sign of Lola yet but they've put up 10 more posters.
- 2016-06-21 20:23 Skywalker99
- Might be worth leaving something with your/ her scent in the cemetery
- 2016-06-21 19:54 Matt1337
- it is the Manor Park Cemetery
- 2016-06-21 19:46 nicolapicola
- As per Doglover's comment: please, Matt, can you clarify if it is the City of London cemetery (which is close to Wanstead Park) or the Manor Park Cemetery which is much smaller and the other side of Wanstead Flats????
- 2016-06-21 19:22 claire
- Fingers crossed we have some reason to celebrate soon!
- 2016-06-21 18:19 Doglover
- I hope we are speaking about the same Cemetary as there is Manor Park Cemetary and East London crematorium which is nearer to Wanstead flats. Xx let us pray that she will be seen and found very very soon. Xxx
- 2016-06-21 18:10 Skywalker99
- I think you could do with some expert advice to catch her...contact Ray Dedicoat, just google him, he has loads of experience.
- 2016-06-21 17:52 glenda
- Yes,and some shepherd in my girl too.
she is one smart dog.i think she might even have a better chance in the wild, rather than getting stressed in captivity, refusing her food.she needs to eat well right now.as she is fit,but elderly, and prone to high blood pressure.and collapsing.she could just go at her own pace.ive got 100 % faith in her.
Ill b thinking about your girl,wishing her well. - 2016-06-21 17:45 glenda
- Excellent!
This is the kind of thing I imagine my girl could be getting up to right now, darting about, evading capture, raiding bins, putting on weight,as she is stuck on a low meat diet.
She also has the collie in her,and no stranger to getting out and about.
You're in with a great chance there,fingers crossed for her. - 2016-06-21 17:43 Matt1337
- Also, I checked the internet if it was actually possible for a dog to befriend a fox. There seem to be a lot of cases where medium sized dogs (usually shepherd crosses) and large cats play with foxes. So it is actually possible for her to become a part of a group of foxes.
- 2016-06-21 17:39 Matt1337
- So I just came back from the cemetery, and what I found out shocked me a little bit.
She was last seen 4 days ago sitting next to the East gate of the cemetery at around 6pm. From what I gathered, there were 2 foxes with her, sitting on both side of her. She was seen a couple of times before that, and the workers reported that it seems as if the foxes were showing her around.
It must have been her, as she had a collar and was a German shepherd-Collie cross, with brown and white fur. Tomorrow I will probably head out to the cemetery again to hang up some posters in the area. - 2016-06-21 15:33 sar
- Oh Matt that is the best news. Take her favourite food and something that smells of home. And don't forget her lead in case she comes to you straight away. If you want me to drive you over let me know. I am sure Shelagh and Doglost will advise how best to get her safely. you don't want anyone to spook her. Sybil
- 2016-06-21 15:18 Matt1337
- THERE ARE SOME NEWS!!!!!!
Lola might have been sighted a couple of times in and around the manor Park cemetery! If anyone is around that area, please go there and take a look. I spoke to the manager and she said we are more than welcome to take a look. I will probably go there myself today to take a look and hang some posters - 2016-06-20 19:23 tony
- Just back from a long walk from 1330-1630. No sightings. Walked around Bushwood (forest and playing fields), Wanstead Flats and around the lake, up Wanstead Park Avenue road to Herongate 2nd pond and then around the long lake (ornamental waters etc) and back. Noticed a few posters on route and repaired ones that were torn (as best I could).
- 2016-06-19 17:56 nicolapicola
- Just back from a few hours walking around Wanstead Flats, Wanstead Park and intermediate places. (slightly delayed going out as was passed in Chingford by a collar-less, runaway Chihuahua and I had to go in search of him (by great fortune Shelagh and Ron were close by and came to help me) - luckily he had returned home. Put posters up on the Flats, Aldersbrook Road, Blake Hall Road and Reservoir Wood, Bush Wood, in Wanstead Park near lake and Tea Hut (didn't have nerve to ask Tea Hut if I could put it up by their hatch). Gave some to passing people. I think you need LOADS MORE UP - don't worry about laminating them - I just stick up paper ones (often under overhanging branches/cover so they stay dry longer, secured top and bottom by parcel tape which I wrap over on itself so it sticks to itself rather than the post. Particularly put them on either side of bus stops so bored passengers will see them and read them whilst awaiting the bus, outside schools, pubs, entrance paths to popular places, etc. On suburban roads I would put one each end and one every 3rd or 4th lamp post in between. You need many more - I only saw 3 of yours today Matt and they were all in Wanstead Park. I met 2 people who already knew about Lola. I think Shelagh is right - she told me she thought Lola is probably only on the move early around dawn and later in the evening so if you got the time you might go out at 4.30 am or so for a quick look around in cases she is visible. Unfortunately it gets light at 4.00 these days. In lots of ways looking in the winter is much easier!
- 2016-06-19 15:41 Shelagh
- Hi Matt. Got some posters from Nicola, and have distributed with Ron from Waltham Abbey down to Woodford. Also asked network rail to check for any dogs on tracks! Please use Sdk website for pics of dogs they have found in Redbridge. We are all still looking for Lola,. Thanks Nicola for printing posters.
- 2016-06-19 13:39 Matt1337
- Thank you all for the great support! We have been out looking in Wnastead Flats, as well as Ornamental Waters a couple of times now. Out of posters, but will print more on Monday and hang them up all around Wantead Flats. Will also call Redbridge dog warden. We tried a newspaper but didn't work out :/
Anyways, Sar it would be of great help if I was able to see that map. Please call the 2nd number and we can organise something. It would be of great help!
Again, thank you for the great support! Hoping someone is able to find Lola soon!
Matt
P.S. I do not think anyone would keep her for long, as she only eats very particular type of food. If she eats something different, the person would need to do a LOT of cleaning next morning. - 2016-06-19 08:43 sar
- Matt, I was the old woman who was walking my Lurcher that Thursday in Bushwood when you were calling for Lola and told you to get in touch with Doglost. I live in the Bushwood area and have a very good map from the City of London which you are welcome to come and look at ...just post a response here.
Also if you have a spare poster the man in the pet shop in Kirkdale road 'Dogs Dinner' is willing to put it up.
Next w/e the Wren conservation group will be out doing a Bioblitz and many different walks from dawn chorus to bat walks in Wanstead Park and Wanstead Flats...good opportunity to talk to people who are out and about. I plan on going to the hoverfly one so will talk to people there.
Finally the overland Barking to Gospel oak line is being upgraded and there are likely to be workmen on there so try to find contact detail from TFL(can't seem to find it myself)
Again Matt post on here if you want to pop in to look at the map!
- 2016-06-19 06:59 Shelagh
- Thanks nicolapicola. The weather has been so atrocious it is possible she is still out but not seen! We are all still looking for Lola and hope we get a sighting soon.

- have driven wanstead through woodford around loughton and back down loughton way through
buckhurst hill into south woodford along chigwell road next to river back through wanstead
and around wanstead flats and a walk over whipps x.... no sightings - 2016-06-18 19:51 nicolapicola
- Matt, I am sure you have been doing so but keep going out there and looking (I'll be out looking tomorrow). Keep postering madly, stop everyone you pass and ask if they've seen her and hand them a poster. If my dog (who is a collie cross) hears thunder, loud bangs, etc, her instinct is to head into the centre of the thickest bush and lie flat on her tummy - perhaps Lola has got stuck? Don't stop going out there and looking, even if you think someone has taken her because spreading the publicity about it may well get you some information. It does work.
- 2016-06-18 13:32 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Matt, please keep looking and postering and putting pressure on. Try the local papers - sometimes they will help. Nothing loose if they can't. Someone may not hand her in if they want to keep her, so you must make her too hot to handle. Also, check the Highways Agency and local council cleansing dept, the people in charge of the water in that area. If she has lost her collar, a number of authorities do NOT check for chips. Is there a railway near? You must check that out. You also need to call Redbridge dog warden daily, in case she goes there. That one is a bit slack in calling owners. Shelagh will advise you on that. Do everything in the email that Shelagh would have sent to you. Keep the pressure on. x

Will text you for update as may be free to look one day this weekend.

- Matt I'm so sorry there's been no leads as of yet. Please post here if you have more social media accounts for her that we can share the hell out of- to make more people be on the lookout!

- We want to thank everyone for the support! So far the best thing to do is wait until someone turns her in. We are constantly looking at different websites, just in case someone found her and she was reported. Thank you all for the support! Hopefully, we can find Lola soon.
- 2016-06-12 19:08 Marlise
- Shared on Twitter. Is there a FB page we can share? Just to get more eyes out there looking for Lola.

- Back from a.m. walk. Across playing fields near Harrow road and round the SSSI area. No sign. Be aware that in addition to yesterdays thunder that the BBQ party which is happening every w/e at Harrow road changing rooms has also been letting off fireworks as they did yesterday pm. Spoke to a couple of dog walkers one of whom walks in Wanstead park and will keep look out.
- 2016-06-11 20:42 Shelagh
- Just returnedfrom whipps x. Due to heavy rain I couldnt ccomplete whole area. The people I did meet had not seen her
- 2016-06-11 18:32 claire
- I walked my greyhound in the Wanstead area of Epping Forest today, I saw the posters. I will take the phone number down just in case I spot her. Have there been no sightings at all? Poor Lola, come home!
- 2016-06-11 13:45 Doglover
- Have added two friends to Paw who live around Wanstead area. One walks her dig at Hollow ponds if I remember rightly which is opposite whipps X hospital and also along the River Roding am hoping they will share with their friends as the other one used to live around the Aldersbrook area.
- 2016-06-11 13:44 Matt1337
- Been at Wanstead Flats today. Put up more posters around there. Also near Alderbrook.
- 2016-06-11 12:51 Shelagh

- Newham are notified. Redbridge use Sdk website for their found strays. Thanks
- 2016-06-11 06:33 sar
- You have probably got this covered but the area Lola has been in is shared between 3 councils. ?Worth talking to Newham and Redbridge dog wardens?
- 2016-06-10 23:57 Shelagh
- Another sighting of Lola running down wanstead park avenue away from the park. Unfortunately we are not sure what day is was! This would bring her out into aldersbrook Rd. If she crossed over road she is on wanstead flats!
- 2016-06-10 16:55 sar
- Have placed a poster at the entrance to small park at end of Nutters lane near my allotment. Also gave another poster to another dog owner who will put it up at entrance to Roding valley park in Elmcroft avenue both these favoured dog walking areas . Hopefully she won't venture down the Roding this far and will stay in Wanstead Park. Come on girl.
- 2016-06-10 14:58 Shelagh
- If anybody does see Lola, unless she approaches you, please keep her in sight if possible and phone number on posters. Owners are near by. Lola is very nervous of people and loud noises and by now she will be terrified.x

- Myself and Gill Walker have been out around Empress Avenue and wanstead park. We met owners and their family and friends. There are a number of posters at exits and entrances to wanstead park now. We discovered a " nest" that Lola may have slept in on first day. I will check Ilford golf course tomorrow and there is a large churchyard nearby as well.
- 2016-06-09 23:20 Matt1337
- We had a look around Ornamental Waters. We went all the way down to the cemetery, but we didnt find anything. She is most likely hiding out around Ornamental Waters. Will go out tomorrow and put up more posters in that area.
- 2016-06-09 22:25 sar
- Fingers crossed she has had time to quieten down and pick up your scent. I will ask our milkman to keep a lookout and pass the word around to other milkman. Sadly I found a poster I had stuck on a branch this am in Bushwood had been burnt this afternoon. People can be so idiotic . I will reposter .
It is great to have a positive sighting - 2016-06-09 20:33 Matt1337
- Finally some news. Lola was seen around 4pm on Tuesday in Wanstead Park heading South East away from the temple in panic. This sighting is pretty old, but it definitely narrows the area of the search. If we could have more people searching around ornamental waters, Aldersbrook and that general area it would be great.
- 2016-06-09 20:20 Shelagh
- Checked all golf course now. Nobody see her over there.I will try to get over to Ilford golf course tomorrow morning, the big cemetarys is close by I look there as wellLast edited: 2016-06-09 20:22:08 by Shelagh

- I went around Wanstead Park today, left some posters around the temple and most exits from the park. Today will go out to look for her again, trying to leave some things in the forest with our smell on it. She might be able to find it and find her way home. Thanks again for the support!

Has anyone postered Wanstead park as very close to area where Lola disappeared. - 2016-06-09 09:38 Doglover

- We have gone around to Whipps Cross, around Bushwood and near Wanstead flats today. No sign of Lola, but we have hung about twenty posters of her near those areas. We hope that someone manages to find her soon, and she can come back home to us. She is deathly afraid of the thunder, and she might start trying to run away from it, so someone might end up bumping into her. She was also reported missing to the dog warden in Waltham Forest, on Pet Log and almost every veterinary in the area is aware that she is missing. Thanks everyone for the support!

- Glad to see owner has made contact with Doglost. Bumped into him yesterday evening calling for Lola in our neck of the woods i.e. Bushwood area. She was spooked by the thunder .I will continue to spread the word amongst other dog owners. Not a twitterer but Walthamforest 4dogs has contact with dog wardens so owner may want to contact that local network.
