So the vets say they are not the police and refuse to scan dogs, BUT if a chip is only going to get home a 'lost' dog not a stolen one because the vets refuse to scan then that is more than likely the reason why many stolen dogs never get 'home' because vets refuse to scan. I know some vets do scan but most don't. It's such a shame. There are so many heartbroken families out there who could easily have been reunited with a member of their family...if only...

Beggars belief why some Vets fail to scan....they only need to invest in a halo scanner and be bothered. I've already tweeted my MP and everyone should do the same. The guidelines are set down at ....if you want a copy just ask me via @snowbirdie or @FindHempTinker .

The chip works.....providing its scanned!! Betty has had a caesarean so if the vet who did that had scanned her we would have got her back before now! Xxx

Is better late that never acceptable? Waiting for a dog to become a stray?

Her microchip bought her home but there was a missed opportunity! Please talk to your own vets ask them to make it practice policy to scan and check microchip registration on first presentation but also the pets never scanned and checked. How many sold on or kept pets have disappeared this way? Last edited: 2017-07-22 20:15:07 by VetsGetScanning

FANTASTIC news! Betty you are so lucky! You're lovely owner never gave up on you, You are HOME where you belong xx
wonderful wonderful news, i cant imagine how her family must feel - she is unharmed and in good health - and vanished from their secure garden. i wonder if she had been stolen to breed from - details dont state if she is neutered. i now have additional tags on my 4 female dogs saying "i am neutered" on advice from doglost
Owner Lindsey said "She was running through Bromley High Street. Picked up as a stray by a lovely lady who took her to the vet this morning and scanned her microchip. Can't quite believe it!!!!x"

Reunited 21st July 2017 Stolen 13th March 2016.
Found approximately 30 miles from home. Last edited: 2017-07-22 11:22:22

Owner ‎Linsey Thomas‎ to Bring Betty Home

We bought Betty home 1 year ago today, we are her family and this is her forever home. We never thought she might not be here this Christmas, she was well loved and looked after. She was never alone and we were in the garden with her the day she was taken! Please look after your pets, don't tie them up outside shops or leave them in the garden unsupervised. Unfortunately the world we live in today means you can't let your pets have free run of their own territory anymore. If you saw our home/garden you'd be shocked how Betty could've been taken but she was!
We still talk about Betty everyday, the kids will never get over how someone took their much loved pup away from them. A lovely lady from the blue cross charity has included Betty in her recent article on pet thefts, even if it doesn't bring Betty home it may educate others to please watch your pets and stop this from happening to so many families.
Betty is on our Christmas lists but it looks like we won't have our little helper ripping up wrapping paper this year 😔 if you're reading this and have any info on where Betty might be, please make my little girls Christmas and help me #bringbettyhome
Poor Betty doesn't have many likes for her facebook page

The add Petsforhomes 07722567141 is asking £1,600 for her!! :(

Could this be Betty? The pictures have been taken at obscure angles so I'm really not sure. I thought I'd better post the link just incase. I hope you get her back soon.
Any update ? How was she lost ? Any sightings ?
