- The people claiming to own this poor dog are now making threats to the rescue who helped save his life. This is what rescues have to deal with time and time again. The previous owner has badly let this dog down and should be grateful he wasn’t killed after his 7 days due to no rescue space.
What sort of decent human being threatens a rescue?
Disgusting. - 2024-10-27 14:12 Louise

- STATEMENT FROM THE RESCUE (All those squawking below about the rescue doing the right thing take note)
“ PROVISIONAL STATEMENT REGARDING NEO
Neo was taken from the Pound on the 15th September after we agreed to take him on day 8 13th sept we became his legal owners having served his 7 days Neo WAS NOT CHIPPED DIDNT HAVE A TAG AND NO ONE CLAIMED HIM
We vet checked did vaccines chipped booked neuter and placed Neo into boarding kennels
3 or 4 days later we were made aware of a lost dog post posted after Neo had done his 7 days the dog looked like Neo so we immediately contacted the 'owner" a Paul Smith and spoke to the dog warden we were told the dog was ours and we were to decide whether to return him
Apparently Neo had a poorly tummy his owner had pulled over in a lay by let him out then closed the boot and drove off not realising he had forgotten Neo until he was home! He couldn't remember what day he lost him thinking it was the 10th Sept when he was actually found at 6am on 6th Sept we asked this person if they would be prepared to cover the costs of vaccs chip etc and heard no more.
At midnight last night we had several messages off someone in London a female professing to be Neos owner since then we have had 2 more people message saying they are neos owner both family of the first lady but apparently they don't get on and they all want Neo back
In cases like these WE are the legal owner of Neo any decisions regarding his future need to go to a meeting of the trustees which cannot happen that quickly however we have been subject to persistent messages and comments including messages direct to one of the teams phone that have been quite threatening all after we have told all these people there needs to be a meeting of trustees and nothing can happen until then unfortunately this is now becoming harassment 🙁
Videos and photos sent to us of Neo jn his previous home show him wearing a prong collar we can do nothing UNTIL ALL 4 TRUSTEES have looked at the information sent from all 4 parties claiming to own Neo however the rescue have done nothing wrong NEO IS OUR DOG LEGALLY”
The end. Last edited: 2024-10-27 08:01:11 by Bo - 2024-10-26 14:00 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Only registered with us on the 24th October...Legally rescue has done nothing wrong infact kindly gave him a refuge and am sure if spoken to politely the rescue if they still have the dog would be more than willing ( after suitable home checks) to rehome to them...but please be aware of the rescues costs over the last 6 weeks and be prepared to pay at least a rehome fee which would be less than the cost of feeding him and boardering him for all that time.
Thanks for listening but I am a great believer of the wonderul work most rescues do. - 2024-10-26 12:32 Bo
- The dog isn’t microchipped, isn’t that against the law? How would the dog pound know who owns the dog?

- I really hope this lovely boy is reunited with his owner. The rescue should be delighted that his owner has been searching and has found him. xxx

- Cesar has been found in a rescue. Owner did not know Cesar had been lost until a couple of days ago as her father had not told her. Hoping for a good outcome.
