- 12 thanks for all the info we and owner are well aware
Janey, area is New Barnet I think, quite close to Hospital
Police are aware of whole situation, so this will be followed up from many different angles

- Yes GDPR means a vet or other registered scanner cannot give out details of who has a pet to the owner - that needs legal action by the owner - but it equally applies to giving out owner's details to members of the public. That should not happen. See RCVS client confidentiality and microchipped animals for a very clear flowchart of actions.

- Police have more details and know who had OZZY and where he was scanned. We just need eyes and sightings please as he wasn’t with person when they checked her home

- Hi 12...Thanks for your comment...in this case details were up to date...Sadly responsible owners are paying for "protection" ie chipping them and due to data protection...strangers can be given owner's details to contact ( if they so wish to) But owners cannot get details about who has their pet...Please look up debbie matthews on vetsgetscanning she is a pioneer and needs all help you can give...thank you for posting inbetween share everywhere please.

- Make sure the chip details are updated to stolen if not already done. Has the chip database got a record of who scanned him and requested owner's contact details? - if so police or solicitor's letter could be used to find out who has got him.

- Good idea Karen.. Ozzy need to be made "TOO HOT TO HANDLE" Why people do this defeats me. Poster, where, and when you can. Put on Twitter too (X) Try a STOLEN CAT ad in a National newspaper if possible. This happened to a relative of mine, an d thief even had the audacity to change his microchip, and his named, albeit he had all ID on him, and came from a loving family, However they had a "Tip off" from someone, and he was reunited. Hope your handsome boy wsill be home soon. Paws xd.Last edited: 2024-03-02 18:10:49 by TrudielovesMax!
