"Cooper's bark was heard at 0240 hrs yesterday Friday morning as we listened and scoped from a distance, in one of the areas his owner's were scenting, baiting and waiting to assist getting their boy home. It was 300 ft up on a steep rocky hill face, dense in gorse and 6ft nettles. His exact location could not be established due to him remaining silent the minute anyone was in the area .Cooper was wearing a harness when he went missing. His breeds coat can be very adhesive to gorse bushes and brambles.
The decision was taken to be more proactive. About 9pm a drone was deployed to assist locating him. At 1230 am spotters sat out of sight, sound and scent , listening 300ft down on the ground . Bingo they heard distress barking up above. Thor my Search Dogs For Lost Dogs Scotland search and rescue dog, worked the top of the rock face to give a more accurate location for direct line access to Coopers location.Thank you Lindsay for looking after my boy.
A descent was made for about 50ft through the giant nettles and gorse . A trail was made around the main body of shrubbery Cooper was within to allow him egress to reach his owner seated nearby /track home or to be secured if injured
Cooper was able to find the adrenalin to disengage from the gorse.
His owner's hard work scenting, baiting, waiting and maintaining 3 live cameras over the previous 5 days paid off.
Withing minutes whilst still stuck to the hill side there was ping ping ping on the phone notifications from the camera.Cooper had shot straight home like a rocket just like his dad had asked him to do as we were descending towards him.
Delighted this gorgeous lad is home safe with his loving family. Note to self- Your not getting any younger".

Brilliant! Well done Thor and all the humans who helped rescue Cooper 🙂Last edited: 2021-06-19 09:04:36 by GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland

"COOPER CAME HOME 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
We cannot believe it, we were beginning to give up any hope.
If it wasn’t for HazelMuzzlemutts Lostdog Searchtracktrap, Laura Graham, Matthew Loughton, Rebecca Robinson and William Sturgeon we would never have found him, the most amazing team of people I have ever met.
I cannot thank our families, friends, neighbours, strangers, everyone for their support, it’s truly been the hardest almost 6 days of our lives searching literally 24/7 and we can’t thank everyone enough for all their shares, and searching it’s been over whelming.

THANK YOU. Now for cuddles 🤍"

From owner "COOPER IS STILL MISSING
_______
On Saturday 12th June whilst taking Jessica and Olivia to football at Dovecot park on Lanark Road, I took the girls out of the car and told them to stand on the pavement while I was letting Cooper out of the front seat. However, now there are the new cycle lanes between parked car and the pavement a cyclist was coming down at a speed. I shouted to the girls to stand still but Olivia tried to quickly get to me before the cyclist did and unfortunately he crashed into her, causing me to drop Coopers lead and run to grab her. The cyclist was hurt but managed to cycle away after some residents and people from the football club helped. I took Olivia to a&e where she was fully checked over and apart from a lot of nasty grazes and bruising, but thankfully nothing serious.
When I dropped coopers lead he shot off down lanark road with my dad and others running after him whilst he was dodging cars. Luckily a lady (Nikki Symington) managed to lie down and let him come to her, which I will forever be thankful for.
On the Sunday morning Cooper went out for his morning walk about 7 and was fine, although we knew he was being a bit different in the house, a bit sad, but he seemed ok. He was then taken out about 11/11:30 around the woods at the end of our street (greenbank) where he met two dogs right at the beginning who started barking at him and he shot off.
Since then we have had almost no sightings, some have phoned about a dog on Lanark road (which was him but wasn’t the same incident), some think the have seen Cooper with people or families but it’s hard to check this as he does look like a lot of other dogs.
We have been working with HazelMuzzlemutts Lostdog Searchtracktrap who is really incredible at what she does and we think he’s still in the woods hiding but doing a certain trail, the same one we’ve been doing all day everyday and night since he ran off.
Praying he returns soon once he isn’t so scared anymore. I’m so thankful for each and every share and post people have put up and hope I can share good news as soon as I can 😔🙏🏻
