Update from Justine xx

WESLEY IS HOME 😭😭😭

12 weeks he’s been missing for today and I’ve finally found him 😭❤️

I will never know where he’s been for these last 3 months but today he’s made his way back to my old house. Thanks so much to Kim Murray who’s house it now is and has been on guard for him showing up there as he has many times before and for calling me straight away!

I can’t believe this is even happening. I thought I was never going to see him again

Sorry Justine. Have adjusted your gender; new reading glasses

Justine your Wesley is almost a clone of one of mine. When I was walking the dogs I thought I saw him sat in someone's bedroom window but seeing Charlie was with us at the time (all my cats join us on our walks) I knew it wasn't him. I think a lot of cats look so like them as next door had one and the neighbour across the road also. I muddled them two up a few times too and I know cats so it's not as if I think they all do look alike. Anyway my point is...are any of your neighbours a bit confused, usually elderly but not always, suffer from dementia? If they do it might be worth another visit as sometimes they think the cat is theirs or they may have lost one to age and think it's back. I know it's unlikely but possible as my neighbours both thought the others cat was theirs and the lady around the corner thought I was stealing her cat when I was carrying Charlie so even some owners have to double check. Wesley is a right beauty and I hope he's home soon xx

We’ve checked the area of the potential sighting 5 times since yesterday morning and no luck. My husband went out at midnight with a torch too (its deep woodlands and he covered the whole of it and didn’t see any cats at all)

It’s so frustrating. Doing all we can but I just feel helpless. It’s awful not knowing where he is or what’s happened. X

Thanks Dachs4ever The cat probably climbed into a vehicle at the time he/she went awol. But it seems that Wesley has been sighted. Also Justine, use the same deodorant that you use on a daily basis, he will recognize the scent and your the one he trust; or your normal perfume if you use it. Never give up. Just seen an item on the BBC red button on a cat missing for 2.5years ago found 60 miles away. Found by security guard on an industrial estate. S/he took cat to PDSA. Microchip led to the owner. Thinking of you and of handsome Wesley.

Thanks Janie. Stories like that really give me hope! I’ve just got back in from another possible sighting in an area he likes to visit but no luck, I’ll go back again in a few hours. We’ve had so many possible sightings but non have been him which is unfortunate but I’m so thankful people are still helping me look for him. X

You are doing all you can Justin
Forgot to say that two cats posted as missing where found not too far from their homes, One cat missing for THREE MONTHS was found by the owners brother by chance only ten minutes from his home. A woman had been feeding him fresh chicken every day. Another cat missing for SIX MONTHS had decided to move in with an elderly lady not far from his home either. But when the lady passed away, he was reunited with his owner via his microchip. So you never know. Keep vigilant as he is a very handsome cat. Paws xd.

Hi,
Yes all outbuildings and sheds were checked when he went missing. Every door on our street and surrounding streets had a flyer put through their door a few days after he went missing. We have lots of posters around the area and in the local shops. Our local newspaper have featured him twice. All vets and rescues in the area have been rang, although he is microchipped. He’s had hundreds of shares across social media. We’ve walked miles day and night looking for him. I also have a poster in my car window. Not too sure if there is a dominant cat in the area, we do have a few cats on the street. I’ve got another 200 flyers to go out this weekend. Thankyou everyone for sharing for me. We are desperate to find him and can’t describe how much he’s missed x

Yes Wesley is very photogenic. Assume all outbuildings checked at the time he went awol? Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too. Post in shops; post offices too if you can. Post a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper in case he has climbed into a vehicle. Presume vets; Cat Protection; animal rescue centres contacted in case he has been handed in: microchips can sometimes slip. When it`s nightfall, and you are searching use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Rattle some treats too. And take with you his UNWASHED blanket . Just because you can`s see a cat, it doesn`t mean they aren`t around. Sometimes a person will take a fancy to someone`s cat, and try to hide it in their home. I have known this happen until the thief saw the owner, and returned the cat. Ask family, friends, and neighbours to share as well as DL. Twitter too. Is there a dominant cat in the area? As sometimes they will chase a less confident out of it`s own territory. However the chased cat will not usually return until they think it`s "Safe" enough for them to do so, or could have got "Lost" and disorientated. Paws xd.Last edited: 2020-10-22 18:29:30
