Dog found by Essex GTRET police today which may be her?
Megan
Many thanks for the message ForestDweller - I called Wilts Council as you suggested but unfortunately the dog that was found wasn't our Hebe. The dog was an older dog and registered to Barnstaple.
Thank you for your efforts though. Megan.

Possible? A yellow labrador has been reported as FOUND between Broadchalke and Bowerchalke, and is now with the Wilts dog warden (tel. 0300 4560107 or 0300 4560100).

Hi Megan, I keep checking Hebe's page in the hope she's been found. See if you can persuade the lifeboat to go out again as a training exercise....worth asking....
ask in the local pubs and businesses if they know anyone who can help. They'll be plenty of locals with boats, you just need to persuade them to volunteer.....We're not local so don't have any contacts to suggest.....Joan

Hi Joan. Thanks so much for your message. Yes, we did have lifeboat out and the coastguard went down and looked from above. my husband and I hired a rib from Salcombe the next day, and went to the location and searched the cliffs and got as close as we could, as we wanted to check all of the parts that couldn't be seen from the lifeboat/above. We live in hope that she is found and a miracle might happen. Thank you again for getting in touch. Megan
Joan
Megan, I see from posts below that the coastguard and lifeboat have been involved but I wondered about the practicalities of hiring a boat and really good binoculars to explore all the nooks and crannies from the shoreline upwards in the area Hebe disappeared. I saw a really interesting boat a few days ago, which is flat bottomed and powered by a large fan. allegedly it can get into all sorts of places a normal boat can't go. It's called AIRBOAT UK and is based in North Devon. We saw it on the back of a trailer so presume it travels around the country. Not sure if it could be hired, with its owner of course, or, you may be able to persuade them to volunteer their services for such a good cause (could be good publicity for their business if their involvelment resulted in Hebe being found).

Sorry to see that HEBE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (145183)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
