After speaking to Doglost head office and local doglost Helper yesterday, I'm going to print posters and get them put up asap because there are none in the area where she was lost.
The shop manager has told me the owner said they were from Cheshire, and doglost have confirmed, so obviously owner is not in the area 24/7 to be out looking when they can. Manager was also told this dog had been rescued and was being transported to be chipped out of area?? Like me she immediately thought it didn't make sense and doubted that was true?? Anyway, that's what owner informed her. I've also been told of several different stories on fb about this dog, I'm really not interested in any of them, all I'm doing is to help find a little lost dog and get her safe.
If Adrien had not ignored my calls I wouldn't have had to disclose this.. very rude and ignorant to ignore someone who cares and is helping to find this poor little dog.

Fingers crossed she is found safe.
Adrien
Thanks JEAN, I tried to call the darlington warden earlier but it was out of hours. I'll try in the morning. She is microchipped so the warden can check that. Thanks for the update.
JEAN
This one found in Darlington, now believed to be with warden..

Arturo and MyBoyWoody,

Many thanks, that's really encouraging, but I won't be able to take a look until tomorrow. If anyone is walking their dog there can you please keep an eye out. I'll let the dog warden know, thank you.
arturo
MyBoyWoody, Adrien

That would tie in to my possible sighting just down from Sandy Lane. Long bank is at the opposite side of that field where I thought I heard a bark at about midnight the other night, and runs straight down to The Angel, either by the main road or a via a network of paths from opposite the Engine Room in Springwell Village. Hi
I'm not 100% certain but i think i have seen your dog. I was upstairs on a bus passing The Angel of The North and i'm sure it was a small brown Cocker in the field, lying down at side perimeter. I didn't see any owner in the field. This was about 10 past 7 this morning.
Adrien
Bazil, thanks for your reply. We feel we have got the word out in the local area. We have contacted vets, animal hospital, PDSA, dog warden, local shops, pub and passing locals. Doglost have also contacted searchers in many postcodes. She is microchipped, and we are in daily contact with the dog warden. As you will appreciate we have had many calls regarding the dog.

The dog on gumtree has a full tail. Also says age 5 months 2 weeks old and microchipped, very close match though in pic

Artur,

Wow thats a good find, she is so similar, even has the same collar. This dog has a lot more white on its chest though and looks slightly different. Thanks for the post though.
arturo
Could be nothing but someone has listed a dog similar age, description and collar for sale on Gumtree today not too far away. Definitely worth a look. www.gumtree.com/p/dogs/sproker-/1333986846

Hi Adrien

I've left you 2 vm messages on contact number over the passed 2 days but had no response yet. I have been out walking and driving about area where your dog was lost. Informed many dog walkers and horse riders to keep a look out for her. I have spoken to the shop manager who you left your contact details with and she is helping spread the word about your missing dog along with her staff.
You have said you have friends local to area, obviously you live far away, are any of your friends able to get some posters printed and put them up for you. You really need to get word out in the area. Posters do help immensely, making people aware your dog is a lost dog if sighted.

Is your dog microchipped, it says unknown above?
Also what caused her to jump out of car please? Was she spooked, is she a nervous dog, scared of people or other dogs, and how long have you had her?

The shop manager mentioned you got her that day, if so.. where was her previous home and is the previous owner aware she is missing.
If she is from Gateshead/Newcastle area she may be trying to make her way home.

I really don't like to ask these question on a public post ... but you haven't returned my calls.

I live local to area so it's no problem for me to help you find your lost dog.

Comment on post on my page ;

Could be nothing but my dogs have just gone crazy by a field opposite Sandy Lane in Springwell Village. I'm not sure if I heard a bark because I was listening to music, but there was definitely something that got my dogs attention. It might seem a bit far away from where you lost her but I know the area well and if she somehow managed to get onto the tracks opposite cardinal Hume she could have easily made it that way via the side of the ravensworth golf club and the football pitch near Eighton Banks Village Hall. Long shot but my dogs definitely saw something. I've found two lost dogs around there before, they tend to go where it's quiet. I'll go out and look first thing.
Adrien
Nothing yet I'm afraid Bazil.

Dogtheftawareness, thank you for your message, that's a good idea. Thank you so much for spending your time searching too.

Missing & Found Dogs North East I drove along the top of that street tonight, from one end right along to church road.
there’s some big back gardens stretching down but access is from church road, I saw some metal gates with gaps in them abs fences the same big enough for a small spaniel to get through but then get stuck if it can’t remember how to get out.
Might be worth knocking and asking some of those residents to check their gardens, it would be quite easy to not even realise a dog was in there due to the gardens being built on a hill surrounded by trees...
Just a thought x

Any sighting Adrien ?
Adrien
Thats really good news, glad the dog got home safely. Thanks a lot for letting me know and helping out. We will keep looking too.

Looked again this morning and had a good look around, but I work in the week. I've left notices in the local shops and with the vets, the kennel and the dog warden who I am in regular contact with. I do have friends trawling the internet and some of the local residents are looking for me. Thanks for all your help.Last edited: 2019-03-18 22:33:24 by Adrien

Are you in the area searching for her or do you live far away. Is anyone helping you search for your dog Adrien
Adrien
Bazil, no she didnt have a coat on when she got out, we were just passing through and went to the shop, so she doesn't know the area. She went missing at 8.30 last night.Last edited: 2019-03-18 21:25:18 by Adrien

Thanks Bazil, that could be her! I'll ring the dog warden again and see if she has been brought in.
BBKM
Adrien, yes the brown spaniel with coat was running loose.

This is the comment and link to the post on fb.

Just driving down coniston avenue on Lakes estate and small brown spaniel with a dog coat on trotting down middle of road tried to catch him but couldn’t

No updates since this morning and not confirmed if dog was male or female.

How did she go missing ?
Adrien
Thanks Bazil, no she just had a red collar on. Was the dog with the coat on running loose?
BBKM
Thank you for reply Adrien.
A brown spaniel was seen earlier this morning in Whickham wearing a coat, I assume your girl has collar only.

Also do you live local to area or were you travelling through Low Fell?

Adrien
Thanks Bazil,

She darted out of my vehicle and ran up the hill on Beacon hill rd, I ran after her straight away but when I got to the top she was nowhere to be seen. We drove around all the top roads and asked in the shop and pub, but noone had seen her. Ive contacted the dog warden, kennels, local vets and put notices in the shop, not heard anything about a sighting yet.

Thanks everyone
.
Shared to twitter and instagram , hope she is found soon 🐾
