Welcome home Maggie. Tagging is a must as there are still so many people who don't know how to scan properly. Chips are missed so often.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yay! So pleased Maggie is back! Having chatted to her mum, it seems Maggie was found by a couple up in the dunes and taken home with them to Ilfracombe 15 mins drive a way. They called the police and notified them, only to be told that the police did not deal with found dogs. Next they took Maggie to the vets and they scanned her for a chip but it was not picked up unfortunately. Maggies owner had followed our advice and had postered heavily in the area, and quite by chance the man who found Maggie saw one of the posters in a newsagents window and called Maggie's owner. Maggie has been to the vets today and has been re-scanned ~ her chip is in situ still. She is fit and well and will now be sporting a new ID tag (which if she had had it on in the first place would have saved her owners a lot of heartache!) The moral of this story for EVERYONE who has lost a dog is that you need to POSTER POSTER POSTER EVERYWHERE!!! Thank you to the kind people who brought Maggie back ~ I am so glad she is back where she belongs!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So please this lovely girl has been found. Stay close to your family now Maggie. My trailhound is from the Dogs Trust at Ilfracombe, and loves to run on the beach.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

She is so lovely I so hope she is found very soon. Early season so not too many visitors yet. Try takeaways, pubs, surf club, local buses, woodland walks, pet shops, local paper and radio. You've probably already thought of those any way. If the ilfracombe kennels has any bloodhounds or similar perhaps they could track her?Good luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Maggie was being walked on the beach with her family when they suddenly became aware that she was not with them any more. Family and friends have searched the local area or dunes above the beach to no avail. Dog Warden/Police have been informed. Maggie is a Rescue dog from the Dogs Trust at Ilfracombe which is close by and doubles as the local pound, so they will recognise her if she is handed in. She is a friendly dog who her family think may have been picked up by someone and taken off. Family have been postering in the local area but need help with this to spread the word about Maggie so please please local helpers lets get this little girl back where she belongs asap. Maggie is NEUTERED and MICROCHIPPED. Owner will I hope be registering on here later to update us.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
