As Ginger isn`t neutered yet, it`s possible that he has gone seeking a mate, and unneutered cats can go quite a way out of their territory,. and stay away for a few days. On average neutered cats tend to stay local. Hope he is home very soon. For people who may not know, cats can be neutered from SIXTEEN WEEKS OLD, which is the age they reach sexual maturity. No luck hunting for Ginger around South Park tonight. Have left his bed with vacuum dirt and a dirty towel outside, with food and water, and his used litter all outside of the front of our house. He can't get into the house, but will check throughout the night and early morning to see if the scent has brought him home.... Will be printing and putting up posters tomorrow... Thanks for all the support and advice! xx

Good luck on your search for Ginger
Sansel
Thanks all for sharing and posting the advice. My son is staying at my mum's tonight, so I can go out tonight and early tomorrow morning hunting for Ginger...
Going to try around South Park, where he ran off and around our old flat, in case he has walked back there... Will update on here if I manage to find him!

Will be printing and posting posters around both locations tomorrow, so hopefully that will help.

Thanks all! x

It is likely that he could be trying to find his way back to his previous home, depending on how long he was kept indoors in his new home. It`s also possible that he has gone seeking a mate, and they can stop away for days, and go quite far. Place his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, along with your scent too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry: used towels too. Wipe his scent on your garden fences, gates, doors too; anything leading up to the garden, as far as you can. Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too. Ask around, especially hose with children, as they can be very observant. When it`s nightfall, and you are searching, u a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Take with you a cat carrier too. Also wear the same deodorant,. you use on a day to day basis as he will recognize the scent, and your the one he trusts. Paws xd.
If you move house it is always best to keep a cat in for one month. Not easy, I know but I have had to do it myself, (Cats hate change if any kind) Paws xd.
