This has been added to his Facebook page: I was on a walk starting and finishing at The Full moon pub in Cholesbury, and soon after we set off I saw a mangy looking border terrier on the bridleway that runs parallel to the road that the pub is on. I thought it was with a couple that had recently walked past (with another dog) but they kept walking and didn't seem to be paying attention to this dog, it was sniffing around and they had walked out of sight. It did meander off in their direction though. At the end of our walk I saw the Dog Lost poster at the hill fort and thought there was a possibility that the dog I'd seen was Seamus, because of the condition of the dog's coat. I think it had a red collar but can't be sure. Thought it might be worth posting on here in case anyone wants to check the area. Please see screenshot below with detail on the area - red cross was where I saw the dog.

I've just seen this post about this stray on Facebook and am posting it to dogs that i feel bear a similarity. The finder states she won't even be telling the dog warden.

LindaT
I don`t feel guilty, Claire ... I just feel disappointed that this did not turn out to be Seamus! What a coincidence to have seen this other Border Terrier at this time, I`ve never seen it on the path there before. Hopefully Seamus will soon be found and reunited with Jackie.
ClaireC
Hi LindaT thank you for voicemail. Please dont feel guilty about what could have been Seamus. All leads given to any of us are always helpful. Xx
LindaT
Have left messages for Jackie ( owner ) and ClaireC to say I have just received an email from a lady called Julia who spends a lot of her days looking after the horses at Picket Piece; she has confirmed that she owns a Border Terrier and that this was most likely her own dog that I saw pootling about. So this sadly rules out this as a sighting of Seamus.
LindaT
There were a couple of things that didn't match and one may be related to what I have in my minds' eye compared to the photo and I saw the dog quite some time before I saw Seamus on Lost section. Definitely was the same breed but the dog had moved on within about 30 seconds or so. It will be very frustrating for Jackie so I do feel for her.
DogLostNicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
Thank you for the update Linda. Presumably Jackie thought your description matched Seamus?
LindaT
Jackie has phoned me and I`ve given her all the details, also just texted her some dates when I know I was @ Wendover Woods ( I always stop @ the café and I always pay by credit card so have the info on my statement ) Have been able to see by some of the photos I take what the most likely day may have been I was parked @ Picket Piece end to start my walk ... possibly the 8th Oct; definitely 10th Oct and 14th Oct; possibly 16th Oct. I walk @ Wendover in mornings so from other photos and times we have ruled out 30th Sept; 6th Oct; 12th Oct . These are all the dates from 30th Sept to 16th Oct I walked here. The most likely days after 30th Sept for my sighting seems to be either 8th Oct as a possible or 10th as the most possible as I know for sure I was @ Picket Piece. I have also emailed the lady who lives at Picket Piece as she has helped me try to sort out a problem regarding horse-riders. I have texted all this info to Jackie ( Seamus`s owner ) She is going to visit the builders tomorrow. Have also given Jackie other info as far as I can remember regarding collar, coat etc. Obviously the dog I saw belonged to someone, I wish I had been aware at the time that a dog of this type had been missing:-( With everything else going on family-wise I don`t think I was at my best I`m sorry to say.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Have given owner your mobile number Linda as she needs to talk to you and cannot follow her messages at the moment.
DogLostNicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
Linda. Your poss sighting is the only one we probably have. I think Jackie (owner) should speak to these builders in case one has taken him in not realising he was missing. Would you be able to call Jackie please on the number above so she understands where you saw the dog & builders & you may be able to describe any collar etc. Thanks so much. X
DogLostNicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
Thank you Linda. It does sound pretty likely. I will pass your comments to owner & suggest she door knocks again in that area x
LindaT
The more time goes on the more I wonder if my sighting of the terrier down at Picket Piece was Seamus ... the timing would have been about right because I posted on 15th Oct but I couldn`t be sure on the date. The more I think about it I feel it was highly probable on or after the 30th September that I was there because I had been away on and off due to family issues for the 2 weeks before that and the bereavement was on 30th September, but I was back home in Chinnor on the 30th and then away on the 1st Oct for the day then home for a couple of weeks. Any day I am at home I walk twice a day with my dog and Wendover Woods is a favourite place so 30th could have been the date, or any time after that. But also on days before the 30th. It just seems co-incidental that I saw this dog who was very wary of letting me take hold of the collar yet had passed by within inches until I went to do that. He/she looked clean and well cared for. There were a lot of builders working at the bottom of Wendover by the small roundabout as there were two developments going on; one of some new large houses by the roundabout and one up the little lane towards The Hale where an old building is currently being converted to apartments... it might be worth checking to see if anyone there saw the little dog if he/she headed down that direction as the workmen cars and vans were parked all along the lane causing quite a blockage, they were practically parked as far along as Hale Lane junction. I do wish I had been able to just grab the collar or dog ... hindsight is a wonderful thing if you are possessed by foresight at the time!! Of course it may not be Seamus ... but I do wonder?
DogLostNicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
Sadly not. Seamus is still missing. Jackie is owner (not on here or FB) is still searching & Find Seamus on FB are following up any possibilities.

Hi Claire, Wendover Woods Cafe has a poster and both the entrance and exit have been postered. We handed posters to dog walkers and walkers at the weekend also
ClaireC
Been up and around Wendover but no sightings.
ClaireC
Was around Wendover and Coombe Hill but sadly nothing.
ClaireC
If not already done can someone put a poster up at the Cafe in Wendover Woods. Also ask if a poster up at the golf club is possible as golfers are sometimes up there early.
DogLostNina
Has anyone given you information about the scenting method of trying to get Seamus home
DogLostNicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
Linda thanks & so sorry to hear of your bereavement. We walked from the Dancers End Pumping Station to Pickets Piece & through Wendover Woods Door knocking, handing out leaflets & talking to locals. Possible dog barking late at night on the road at St Leonard's Tues/ Wed. Hoping we'll hear of more sightings soon
LindaT
Just to add to my posting below: I can walk from Picket Piece end of Wendover Woods to Dancers End in about an hour, straight up the bridleway and across the top past the cafe etc, so if the timing was around the day/days that Seamus went missing it is possible he could have travelled through the woods and paths to that side of the woods. Just wondered if anyone had postered down that side, if not it might be worth doing so. I am sorry but due to family bereavement I am a bit hit and miss with getting up to the area at the moment, but I do hope there is some news and this little chap can be found and reunited.

Sorry have not been around but I did see a Border Terrier seemingly on its own two to three weeks ago. He/she popped out of the shrubbery on the bridlepath by Picket Piece which is the big house on Hale Lane next to where permit holders can park their horseboxes. The dog had a collar and tag and although right by me wouldn't let me take hold and trotted on down the track and disappeared. There was nobody around or calling but I wondered if it belonged in the house as I thought there may have been someone working in the garden and it was their dog. The golden retriever there comes out sometimes. A couple of minutes later a man and his dog came down the track and said he would keep eye and ear open in case someone had lost the dog. Sorry can't be specific on date. Dog was therefore heading down towards the Wendover end of Hale Lane.

Nicky or owner, Mix96 is good for making people aware. Likewise put a couple of posters into Royal Mail post boxes as posties take back to sorting office and display. Local estate agents will take posters. Also Homesitters office nearby will I am sure make their sitters aware. Display posters down at bottom on Stablebridge Road Wenwell Crescent as these houses all back onto the land nearby and likewise Canal route. Check with dog wardens both Tring area and Aylesbury as you are on border. Also check with the two different Highways Agencies. Last edited: 2016-10-14 15:50:18 by ClaireC

Shared on fb as there maybe a few folk wishing to join the search party. Purely a thought but why not meet at Aston Clinton Park on A41 as people can easily park. With club house behind you looking across the fields, to the left in the tree area if you walk along you can get to Dancers End. Halton House will display a poster in their Officers' Mess Reception area i'm sure. Likewise Main Guardroom.on Tring Road will as well.
DogLostNicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
Claire. Thanks for your v/m & comment below. We will do as you suggest. Hoping for good news soon x
ClaireC
If Seamus was lost near Dancers End, across the road in the direction of Aston Clinton is the other part of the towpath that also leads to Halton. Please see if Green Park staff are aware of Seamus and also Aston Clinton Park, there is some building work going on in there and builders may see something. There is a stream running thro and many hiding places within the park over by the wooded area. Left you a voicemail as well Nickyb. Regards to funkydawgi. Good luck all.Last edited: 2016-10-14 08:11:12 by ClaireC

From Find Seamus - ***GROUP SEARCH - EVERYONE WELCOME***

We will be meeting this Saturday, 15th October at about 10am near to where Seamus went missing. Will post an address when we have found a suitable place for everyone to park.

Myself and Jackie (Seamus' owner) will be there. Any help is much appreciated but no dogs please.
DogLostNicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
From FB Find Seamus - Possible***POSSIBLE SIGHTING***

Jackie (Seamus' owner) has had a phone call today from a lady that said she spotted a dog that looks like Seamus on the canal path in Halton. However, shortly after she was approached by a woman that said something along the lines of "I've lost him again" and was calling the dog Ginger.

When the phone caller got back home she had a look at the poster online to double check that the dog actually looked like Seamus and she said it could be him. Obviously it sounds like this dog already has an owner but if someone knows of Ginger we can rule him out.
DogLostNicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
Seamus' owner is offering a reward for info leading to his safe return. I will email admin & ask if they can add this

Went up there early evening today & no sign either in fields or by the roads. Spoke to some locals who horse ride in area so they will look out for the little lad.
