If Homer lives on Princess Parkway, realistically he could be anywhere by now. However, a likely scenario is that he's been found reasonably locally and taken in. Posters need putting up along the Parkway as far south as Didsbury, and north into town, in particular around the large council estates in Fallowfield. Press coverage- with pictures- in the South Manchester Reporter , Manchester Evening News, Sale and Altrincham Messenger might throw up something. It's helped before. I'm happy to help put up posters in the Withington, chorlton, didsbury end of the Parkway and surrounding areas. Someone must have seen this little dog.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to Homer's owner tonight. This little cutie still isn't home and there have been no sightings at all. Circumstances surrounding his disappearance is someone came to the house and he's got past them but it was 10 - 15 minutes before anyone realised he'd gone. The owners were given Homer by a family who were moving to Turkey when he was one and have had him since. He isn't chipped and wasn't wearing a collar when he went missing. However, someone has to have seen this dog as his lives on the Princess Parkway. Homer was insured so I've advised the owner to call the insurance company to see if they are covered for advertising fee's. He has been reported missing to the police but I'm afraid to say they weren't very interested and basically referred the owner to MDH. I've given the owner a few numbers to call - Leigh Animal Sanctuary, RSPCA etc but I need help postering here as anyone who knows the area knows this is a main route in Manchester City Centre. Can anyone who uses this route on a regular basis please display posters in your cars? I have told the owner I'll give her a call next week to see how she is getting on with insurance etc. Homer is a very energetic dog and someone must have seen him loose in the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated with postering. Please PM me x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi - I live in the M14 area and travel into work every day along Wilmslow road into Manchester, so will keep my eyes out for Homer. I will also get a few posters put up in the local parks as I travel round in the hope of some good news soon. We lost out dog, Daisy at the end of Feb this year, so I know the stress you are going through. Geoff.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just got in from work, will ring our office later and get someone to check records of all lost dogs since the 5th July for the Manchester area. Will re-check myself in the morning and try and get over to the area with some posters etc. KnoxyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as admin received a picture posters can be emailed to helpers and they need to be put up in the area a.s.a.p. lamposts, entrances to parks, vets, petshops, ask postman (go to sorting office), milkmen, refuge collectors, taxi drivers, schools, youth clubs, pubs, takeaway shops, dog training clubs and deliver to houses etc. Handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. Check Police stations and Dog Warden. RSPCA and rescue centres need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows Homer. xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
