Very similiar markings on one of the dogs found in raid by Thames Valley although not full view photo. Definitely worth checking. (Have sent text to Eddie's owner just in case he's amongst these dogs found) https://www.facebook.com/thamesvp/photos/a.10152602199593655.1073741924.138503923654/10152602201743655/?type=3&theater

Hello - just wondering whether there was any news on this?

Thanks
SarahDR
I was struck by the similarity too, although there seems to be some discrepancy in terms of age (but I suppose it is not always easy to guess when a dog is found). Until you hear from the owner (maybe they are on holiday), I wonder whether it is worth contacting RSPCA Oxfordshire to let them know that there is a possibility that Sooty is Eddie? It would be awful if it did turn out to be him and he was re-homed in the meantime. It would be so good if there was a happy ending after all this time!

Can't get hold of owner at the moment, Sarah - but that's an amazing likeness. Have left messages on phones for them to call me back. x

The Saluki with Newark and Sherwood council has been on that site for at least 3 months. If I remember correctly dogs not collected within the 7 days are then moved on to Cliff farmhouse, The Cliff, ingham, LN1 2YQ tel 01522 730502

Sorry I haven't been over your way much recently, I keep looking in on site, please keep in touch with the local NT wardens and the Epsom downs rangers, there were 3 dogs running together on the downs today and I think they said one might be a lurcher- they managed to catch a terrier but I think the other 2 are still loose - I don't have any real info but if you contact them they will keep an eye out for Eddie, Lurcher, Greyhound, Saluki maybe all a bit similar when they are filthy dirty and wet! Come on Eddie time to go home ! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Followed up a reported sighting on the Nower, west of Dorking but did not find Eddie. The description from the boys who reported seeing him was not that close. However it was worth a look. Fingers still crossed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Suppose people will take down posters if they have got soggy, they also presume that dog has been found after a while so put some back up so they know he is still around. Unfortunately it is a continuous job. Vandals will also be responsible. Try to make sure there are fresh posters around the day before the Boot Sale if that is still ongoing. Make sure all the vets still know he is missing and not just those in Dorking but all around.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

AH Thanks Jan that is a lovely happy ending.Just need to keep me chin up- though quite dis-heartening to see some of posters "disappeared" from around stations.Officials and bureaucracy or vandals ? JudyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi found this this morning, I know it is a long shot but might be worth looking at. This is a rescue kennels in Lincolnshire. They are not neccesarily brother and sister. If you type in threecountiesrescue, then click on 'pairs' the picture will come up. Remember the microchip can move about in the body so cant always be found. Good luck, Jan H Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

xenas mum, the poster sounds interesting, but really to have impact it needs to be A4 size - one dog per poster. Smaller is fine for hand outs. This is why we develop the posters for download off site for helpers to use. Thanks for the efforts though. Also bear in mind not all helpers put information on the web site unfortunately. spoke to owners today, no sightings. Eddie had his leg operated on in April and has a plate in so would have thought by now he would be quite lame so may have been caught and moved. They have made contact with railtrack. The woods sound very dense and full of wildlife that a Saluki would enjoy chasing. Thanks Xenas mum, hope the squirrel tummy is better!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters in Betchworth and Brockham, put one through Brockham Vets L/Box as all in an emergency op. J Chitty & Sons Butchers have one in the window and a few around the village. Didn't get to do quite as much as I wanted due to Xena having a tummy ache - teach her to eat squirrels! Expect to go back again tomorrow afternoon. Go home Eddie I'd like to be taking them down again tomorrow!!!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I received the following info in a pm:- Eddie ran off from garden in Deepdene Drive either towards Deepdene wood or Kuoni Travel lodge grounds/the Dene. Usual walks: Park Farm, Betchworth golfcourse, Brockham, Ranmore, and Denbies area. I will try to poster from Reigate Heath through to Dorking via Brockham , Betchworth etc. tomorrow afternoon but hopefully Eddie will be home by then. Annie, Eddie went from owners house just off Deepdene Road. Will contact a few people I know in North Holmwood, including 'Maddies' owner. Police and DW at Mole Valley alerted by owner. Owner postering all around and out with other dog regularly walking the area. Eddie knows the Denbie estate area and also Ranmore (top of the hill NT car park) Patsy? Eddie just took flight for no reason, off on an adventure. Owner now has contact info for me if any more help/ advice needed. Not sure if pure or not is necessary to finding Eddie? Eddie is prone to injury, but none when he went missing. I think dekkaann may be suggesting he could be sore from running? He could be in the area surrounding Deepdene anywhere, so poster poster poster peeps please. Sue x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

dekkaann - are you saying you spoke to the owners? I will be in Dorking on Wed lunchtime so can help then...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

O.K. Deepdene area is very near Dorking Town centre, and around the A.24 and the A.25., so he could be anywhere from Boxhill area along the other end of the A.24 towards Capel, or if the took the other route along the A.25 towards Betchworth area. Thats if he wasnt picked up and taken out of the area of course. Any one in those areas please do poster! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as Admin receives a photograph, the poster will be emailed out to helpers. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Eddie well. Stay safe Eddie, untilyou are back home x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
