Oh I am soo pleased. I had a feeling he was making his way back to his old home! Checked DL at lunchtime, no news. So happy to have come home, refreshed computer to this wonderful news and it saves me going out to renew all the posters around Penselwood, Stourton and Kilmington tonight! So lucky you had his friend with you.

3 Cheers Glen has been found!!!!!! Last seen in Bruton on Monday morning then I was out again this morning at 6.30am just driving around and askin dog walkers in the area. Got a call about 8.45am from a Gamkeeper in Brewham who knew Glen was missing from a poster in the pub, and saw him running across his field. after getting within 20 feet at about 12noon but he was spooked by a car and ran off.So the hunt was on, finally caught up with him about 1.30pm when he ran behind my car at King Alfreds Tower , Stourhead so we quickly got the other dog out the car and let him go. He raced after Glen and got his attention. He is now snug at home after having a quick bath and some well earned food. I cannot than everyone enough for all their support and help with looking. Dogs lost is a brilliant website and I must have printed off well over 100 posters which is what brought in the call. Thank you xx
haras
I am so sorry, I am not being much practical help, but am keeping my eyes open when in Bruton - which is every day for work, though not outside for all of that of course! Got your number in my phone etc. Thinking and praying for you and Glen.
Flo
Hi sorry to hear Glen is missing, I have emailed this link to a couple of friends who work in Bruton and will keep an eye out. Really hope he is found very soon x x x x
BaileyP
So wish that I lived near enough to help but I'm pleased that you are getting sightings. Every thing still crossed here! x
Shelties MUM
The Bruton Area seems to be where he is holed up. I have some friends and family going to get out this evening, if anyone can join us please do give me a call. Thank you.

I am at work today, just had a minute to check on here, this is so encouraging. Shelties Mum, I am thinking of you.

Hi Jane

Have been out all weekend looking. These are his movements so far.

8am Friday seen going into Bruton from wincanton

Seen all weekend around the area of the town

Seen last night at around 9pm in Tolbury Mill area

Seen 8,15am today by the astro turf opposite Sunny Hill School

This leads out on the road to Castle Cary if he has not gone back into town.

If the poster could be updated that would be great. I am going to print more off today, they definitely make all the difference in the sightings reported.

I am going out asap again today to put the posters up.

Shelties MUM
Had sighting in Bruton - Tolbury Mill around 9pm last night. I was in the town at that time! Another sighting by the astro turf opposite Sunny Hill School at about 8.15am today. Dashed over and have been looking all morning. Nothing yet. This road leads out towards Castle Cary.Back in to print out more posters and eat something.
Shelties MUM
I have just looked back through all the postings and need to anwer a few questions. Although his previous owner died recently, he had been walked and occasionally looked after by a neighbour, my friend Elizabeth in Penselwood. Whilst out looking for Glen on Friday, she sprained her ankle so has been off the road till today. She will come immediatly to attract Glen once he is sighted.
I have one of his old blankets and hace cut pieces off and left in areas around Bruton today.
Haras thanks for your suggestions, I have done them all!
haras
Sorry - that would have been about 1.20 this afternoon, couldn't get on the Internet until now.
haras
Oh, come on Glen, we're rooting for you!

Sheltie's MUM, we're thinking of you: my son thought he saw Glen out of the car window by the fish and chip restaurant in Shepton, but I don't think it could be a sighting: I didn't see anything at all and a minute or two later he asked "what do Shelties look like actually" (he has seen the poster!) so I'm not convinced.

Sorry we couldn't help more today.
Shelties MUM
We drove all up past the school in that direction this afternoon. all round Batcombe and on to Evercreech. Postering all the way. visited Happy Landings and Farrington Kennels. He was seen in Bruton by the church on Saturday about 2pm . Do you know if he took off for Evercreech after this? 10pm now so will try to get some sleep and back out tomorrow.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
It seems he was last seen near one of the schools towards Evercreech - Shepton Mallet direction. "The speed he was going he's probably in Shepton Mallet by now" dont know if thats helpful or not, but what someone said. I have been out to Bruton this am and we had a good look around on our way back + Kilmington, Stourton, Zeals. I will walk dogs out via Bourton towards Penselwood this afternoon.evening.
Shelties MUM
Hi Bobble. A sighting on Saturday would be fresh as possible. can you tell me where in Bruton the lorry spooked him and which direction he headed. Tired out from walking and work with no sleep so going to poster again further afield.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Bruton with friends had a good look around, asked everyone. Poster already up in shop. Firm sightings, but not since 13.30 Saturday, where he was seen just running and running, was spooked by a lorry. The good people of Bruton are keeping a look out for him and many have owners mobile number. Fingers crossed.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Spoken to friends in Bruton, they are going to put card up in feed store and village shop as a stop gap until owner goes over with posters this afternoon.
Shelties MUM
Have to work for a few hours thismorning but will be back and out looking again. I didnt find out about the Bruton sightings until yesterday afternoon so I have put some posters up, one iin the vets and will look that area again. Spent the latter half of the afternoon at the Dorset and Somerset Animal Rescue Pawfeast. Spoke to lots of people and spread the word. the police officer knew all about him, just need a fresh sighting I can follow up immediately. I wont rest till I find him, anyone call me anytime with news or an update.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
You are all doing a fantastic job here, I am sure your efforts will pay off and Glen will soon be safe. Keep up the good work. Haras, all your sugestions are spot on, posters need to be up to make everyone aware that he is around the area and carry on shareing on face book.
haras
I have updated my facebook link with the sightings (several Facebook friends are Bruton residents). I was out round Morrisons today, but think the bird has clearly flown from there. From Monday I will be at work in Bruton every day: do you want Bruton postering? Or has it been done? And I think Bruton Country Centre (animal feed place) is an excellent idea. Don't forget Bruton Vets and Farringford kennels as well. And if he's in that area, many people round Bruton take lost animals to Happy Landings animal shelter near Pylle, Shepton Mallet - worth letting them know as well I'd say.

Thinking of you - as is my 8 year old who keeps asking if Glen is home yet . . . we hope he will be back with you soon.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Great news that he has been spotted again! I have friends in Bruton, one that I have already told. I will ring him first thing Sunday and ask him to let the staff in Bruton Animal feed store know, cannot remember what it is called, but he lives near and can pop in. I have only been "in" a short time, so too late to ring. But that is great positive news. Plus he is headed towards his old home. Fingers crossed.
Shelties MUM
Out all day from 7am. 3 sightings yesterday in bruton area. Nothing today. Lots of people putting him on Facebook. Working now so out again tomorrow. Big thank to all who helped today
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Shelties Mum, I am sorry I can't do much to help you today. I have been out to Penselwood and around and about. Thinking of you and Glen and sending positive thoughts! I will keep an eye on the area, allowing you to concentrate on where he was sighted. I will check on here later. Please see message below. I might phone you, but dont want to bother you if is not positive news! keep positive and dont forget to eat!
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
C.J. He is from Penselwood, which is about 3-4 miles away from where he went missing, but in the opposite direction to where he ran. I live near there, so have been walking out there, talking to people, etc for owner. My printer is nearly out of ink, so I have run out of posters. But will keep checking out there when I get a chance. I dont know which house he came from and it is a very spread out place. I will phone the owner again this evening if no news. Is there no relative from the previous owner available who could try and talk to him? xx

how far away has he come from. he may be trying to head back to th home he knew. If possible is there anything from his old home that could be used to make a scent to try and keep him in one area ( old blanket article of clothing maybe from old owner etc) obviously a very sensative subject as previous owner has died but is the move to someone who knows the family or was it via a rehoming?

Thanks everyone...good luck today with the search party.
Shelties MUM
Hi Hara, I know Liz at the rescue center . It is just a the bottom of my road. I have seen her a couple of times already. thanks for that.
He wont willingly go to strangers but i Guest it depends how hungry he is. No new sightings.
Out last night til nearly 11pm. Putting up more posters and visiting pubs and late working farmers. Everyone has been so genuine. thanks again to all so far. Out today at 8am with a search party . Lets hope...

haras
Oh yes - and if you haven't I STRONGLY recommend Somerset and Dorset animal rescue, they were very helpful when mine went.
haras
Hi, I am very local to Morrisons but am single parent so can't go up there with dog until tomorrow as child asleep. Suspect you are right though, may well have gone out Templecombe or Holton/Bratton Seymour way. However, I will post on facebook and go out that way tomorrow. Thinking of you though, it's a nightmare location as I know all too well from when my own went missing 3 weeks ago (now home safe). Thinking of you and Glen tonight.
Will he come for food by the way?
BaileyP
Hi Glen's mum. Sorry to hear that Glen has gone missing. I'm too far away to help with the search but you need to put as many posters up as you possibly can. They work!
Also, make sure that any helpers don't try to chase him - shelties get very nervous when they are running scared and this poor little lad must be doubly scared as he is so new to you and the area. If you see him sit on the ground with your back to him and don't try to make a grab at him. Shelties are very tough little survivors - they can find food and water and go into hiding if they think someone is chasing them. He may well come out at night more than in the day.
How did he manage to get free?
I hope that you get a sighting soon - remember - get those posters up far and wide and get him advertised with a reward anywhere you can think of. Your biggest problem if he is sighted will probably be catching him !! Everything crossed for you here - me + 4 shelties! xx
Shelties MUM
Glens mum again. I dont have internet at home but can get online in office anytime. So I will check during tomorrow but call me if you have any info ANYTIME!!! Thanks
Shelties MUM
Hello, this is sheltie Glens owner. thank you all for your kind response. No sightings today but could have set off for the countryside last night. I am trying anything and everything so if you have any ideas they would be very welcome. Desperate to find him and will be out first thing tomorrow as well. Just printed another 50 posters. ANY sightings at all please let me know. Not a good idea to approach him as he will bolt from strangers. Any sheltie owners who can spare a little time to look, please bring your dog along. Very many thanks.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Been out with owner this morning, looking, postering, talking to farmers, delivery drivers etc. Taken a drive round where he came from, which is opposite side of Wincanton to where he ran, but worth a try and will walk dogs out there this evening. I have contacted local (MidWest) Radio, so hopefully he will get mentioned on there. No sightings or leads today so far, so please keep looking and contact owner or put on here as soon as you see or hear anything.

My heart jumped reading about this one running through traffic. They have no sense of danger with cars and can be very fast. Poor little dog. Won't know where to turn to and being one owner type dogs Is there no relative from the previous owner available who could try and talk to him? xx
DogLostOwl
Bobbie and anyone who can go out and help, the best thing is to call the number given to make contact with Glen's people. They are likely to be out searching and may not see offers of help until they return home.

picture on ready for alerts to go out please

I am about 4 miles from Morrisons and dont have anything to do that cannot wait, so willing and able to go and look. However, any latest news? I was up that way twice yesterday and no sign of anyone looking/posters etc. Plus it would be better to be part of an organised search, rather than just go on my own and look in the wrong place. I will print off a poster for the village and keep this open, in case I can be of help?
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
poster e mailed to helpers BA 8,9,10,7,12,22. SP8.

Might be a goond idea to contact Somerset and Dorset Animal Rescue who are based in Wincanton just in case somebody contacts them about Glen so they are aware.
