Great news, so pleased Jessie is home safe and sound x
Kay
Thanks again everyone. Not sure how to get reunion photos up, I have one on facebook we can use and there is an article about the reunion going in the news guardian tomorrow. You can be sure I mentioned this website and all the support I got, I also mentioned the lost dogs from the area I could think of to try and get them some coverage.

There was no way I was gonna give up on her. She is a little wary today, did not want to go in the bathroom for her bath, got the impression she may have been kept in a room, possibly the bathroom from the way she reacted but managed to calm her down and get her bathed eventually. Apart from being smelly and a bit fatter she is fine, just really clingy.

I am so pleased to have her home and so overwhelmed and thankful for everyone's support. I will follow up how I can help out like you guys have done.

Thanks again,

Kay x

I've been wondreing all afternoon what was happening out there and am so pleased to see that Jessie is back with you safe and sound. Well done! Strangely (or may be not) a few of our missing dogs go down this same road - get found by someone and "sold" the same day, in a pub or somewhere - easy buck as they say. And, this is another safe doggie that got back home! Well done to everyone involved. Welcome home Jessie. x

Hey All,

Jessie is home safe and sound. I got a call off someone to say their friend had bought the dog not realising he was stolen. After some discussion I managed to get them to meet me and my brother, it was a bit tense, the guy was out of it and did not immediately have the dog. The story went that he had bought her off someone and hadn't realised she was stolen, I said I wasn't concerned only that I wanted my dog back and was happy to reimburse him for the £100 she had cost him. After about an hour I was reunited with Jessie, she ran out of the persons arms into mine and absolutely devoured me. I am glad to say she looks well and unharmed, if not she looks fat and like she needs a good walk so I am off to take her for one now, and she won't be getting off the leader!!

Thanks for everyone's support and help, it was through an article in the free paper my friend did that this guy spotted her. It was unbelievable how many people knew about Jessie and have give us support.

If there is anything I can do to help anyone else on Dog Lost get their dogs back just let me know. In the meantime we have to go and take lots of posters down, if you spot one, please feel free to take it down or give me a shout and i'll go remove them.

Thanks
Kay x

Nothing at lunchtime but looking again on way home. keep positive she could be close.M

Have sent scenting instructions.
BBKM
Try putting posters on any recycling containers, bottle banks etc in the area.
Good luck Kay x Come on Jessie darling be seen again xx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
This sounds like a very promising lead! No collar. Man may have taken her to dog warden, so check first? Poster that area heavily and do you have scenting instructions? I will try to send from work now, but if unable to, can do when I get home if no one else has sent to you. Basically leave some bits that smell of you in that area so she will recognise you and stay around there. This is brilliant news. Good luck. x
hello janey
this is a good sighting then,,and could very well be her! what about postering car windows with fliers in morrisons,,I did it and got lots of calls for mine ;-) this is the best possible sighting yet...paws crossed ,,,Annabel x sorry off work today so not even near to go and check out the area ;-(
Mal
Kay, will go and look around there at lunchtime. M
Kay
Hey All,

A boxer matching Jessie's description was sighted running round with no collar on last night in Killingworth around 5 o'clock. She was last seen folowing a man with a dog at Hawthorn Close walking in the direction of Morissons. We went up within minutes of the sighting but couldn't find her.

Please keep looking there's a good chance she is still running round and not yet been picked up.

Kay

Excellent that you are hearing from people - it means your posters are working. Well done and keep up the good work. Wish you could find her quickly. x
Kay
Janey, I don't know why they would muzzle her, possibly it was one of those muzzle leads, i am not sure how they work. Could be a false alarm. Maybe if you see a boxer bitch with tail and aren't sure you could tell me a time and place and I could go there or if you ring me I could try and get there straight away and see if I can spot her.

Bazil, I will certainly try, I can't promise anything but I will definately try.

No more use as yet.

Thanks
Kay

waterville road is my area of work,,I do deliveries every day in north shields and surrounding areas,,there are a couple of boxers about,,but not really a dog I see too often,,will keep your number handy and call if I come across anything,,to me they all look similar so wont approach in case,,why would they muzzle her though?? Annabel.

Kay
Possible sighting of Jessie on Friday night on Waterville road, North Shields NE29. A boxer matching Jessie's description was spotted being walked with 2 young boys, she was muzzled and being walked with another dog. The person who saw them couldn't be sure but the other dog was possibly a terrier or cross breed terrier of some sort. She thought the two boys looked suspicious but couldn't be sure. If anyone can poster NE29 that would be great but please take care as parts of this area are somewhat undesirable. If spotted I would advise anyone to find out where the dog is taken to and phone the police rather then approach them yourselves.

We checked the area last night but not sign, will keep checking.

Thanks
Kay
Kay
Ah they have had a look and it is not her but thanks. Also I didn't know about the animal wardens site have contacted them.

Jill thanks for your kind words, it is only the support of complete strangers that offers any comfort through this horrendous time. I will be in touch as I am trying to get an article done on Indy, Jessie and Tyson in the chronicle. Nothing confirmed as yet but i'm seeing what I can do. Also did you check that yorkie in isolation in the Claremont Road branch? I am not sure if it looked like indy or not, looked a bit big for a toy terrier to me and the hair looked more straggly but still probably better that you look. Make sure your asking to see the dogs in isolation as these are not on public view.

Hi Kay, it's Jill here, Indy's owner, just wanted to say i understand exactely what you are going through, it's now 3 weeks and 3 days since our Indy went missing and i am in the same boat as you...we think someone has him. we continue to poster everywhere and if we get a sighting we flyer the street, we have followed the advice to try and make him 'too hot' to sell on. my heart is breaking and the thought of someone else going through this hell is truely awful. if there's anything we can do to help you out while we continue our search, we will. chin up. stay strong. jillxxx

hi just a reminder that lost/missing/stolen dogs can turn up anywhere in the country. Please check animalwardens.co.uk there are a few found boxers on there and you can also inform them about Jessie. Good luck x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Good that Network Rail has got back to you, but I have to say, they never take dogs to the vets to scan them; they usually leave them where they are unless they are in view of the public. Many dogs are lost on the lines and never reported. Take a look at Bailey's (RG6)page. But Jessie is probably still safe, so you need to keep going with the posters and searching. Any traveller's sites around - you need to check those if there are. But never alone. Good luck with the vets. Keep calling local vets and rescues, sometimes chipped get missed. Good luck. x

Kay
We get a letter from network rail today to say they hadn't found any dogs fitting that description and if they did they would take them to the vets and scan them. They had notified their workers to keep an eye out. So not worried about that at the moment, we are in daily contact with dog warden, council and local shelters too. Thanks for the find any vet tip i'll chase this up tomorrow.

DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Kay, there is an ad on the right side of DogLost "Find Any Vet" click on that and it will bring up all the vets in the country! Did you check the railways? Hope ther are nono but as HelloJaney said, the cleansing dept of the council or Highways agencies do not always inform you of dogs they find - the smae goes for railways. Too many dogs get killed on the railways and the owners may never know because Network Rail does not always receive reports form train drivers. Sad but true, as below. I'm sure someone has her though, but you need to rule bad stuff out.
Kay
Sorry guys, it was Blakelaw and not Blaydon, we already have posters in Blaydon and I have distributed posters in Blakelaw now, I think it is around NE5 or NE6 that area. We are ringing the dog warden daily who said if any dogs get picked up dead they will scan them and get in touch.

I really need help getting the information out to vets. I have done all the local vets and the main one in NE5 (Westway) but want to try and hit every vet in the north east so they are aware when a new boxer has come in they need to scan her. Anyone got any tips for getting this info distributed quickly to the vets? Also I am gonna make a list of places not hit with posters and may need some support with this. I will update this page when I get organised.

Thanks For all your help, can't tell you how much it means to have people supporting us and helping out.

Kay
hello janey
I dont think that will be your girl in Blaydon,,this is next to the Metrocentre..I do seem to recall a posting about a found Boxer a couple of weeks ago from that area,,it was reunited,,she is chipped this is in your favour so if a decent human being picks her up you will get her back,,keep up the good work,,are you calling the cleansing dept too? just in case she has been involved in an accident,,they wont bother to inform you,,very sad but true ;-( you will also get hoax calls occasionally,,they shits had me running all over for mine ;-0

Kay, just re-read the posts! You are doing well, girl! Jessie, your mummy is on her way. x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Kay, as per e-mails, poster everything you can and make Jessie too hot to handle. She has her chip which will make it a little more difficult for someone to keep her. She's such a beautiful girl she will not go unnoiced, okay. Where is Blaydon, someone? I don't know this area and want to alert helpers there? Thanks.
Willow
Added to my Facebook page hope she is found soon.
Mal
Good luck with the Blaydon lead. We will continue to walk the area. Am without internet for the next few days but will call if we see/hear anything.
M
Kay
Hey All,

It might be a total hoax but some kid came on the facebook group we set up and said she heard of someone finding a dog that fitted Jessie's description and they were going to sell her if noone claimed her. She didn't know who it was but she is from Blaydon so I am going to hit there with posters tomorrow. It's a total long shot but someone may have picked Jessie up in the car and taken her home but the driver may not have been from the area she was lost in. If you live in Blaydon or anywhere in the west end and can put a poster up please do or spread the word.

also if there is anyone lives in the coastal areas, either north or south of the tyne, if you can put a poster up on the off chance someone takes her there for a walk i'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Kay
Kay
Thanks Mal, we are putting ads in all the local papers to. I think if I don't get her before I will probably get her back after the school holidays, I am pretty sure someone must have her by now and is trying to keep her. Thanks for all your efforts, I will continue to poster and let you know if there are any sightings.

Kay
Mal
Kay.

Walked Gosforth park and drove around all Wideopen seaton Burn and Brunswick last night, nothing.
Spoke to some people so they are aware of Jessie. Will cover that area tonight again unless you have any sightings and need anything further. Also looked around Lookie Park and football fields/farmers fields at Wideopen and no one had seen a boxer. Will ring you if we hear or see anything. Keep your spirits up as she will be seen and reported if we keep the pressure on!
Just wish there was a lead to follow. M
Kay
Day 7 and still no news. If anyone is on facebook can they please add themselves and all their friends to this group http://www.facebook.com/groups/188299384565660/ it will help spread the word to find Jessie. Thanks x
Kay
Sorry Mal, I have been out postering. I walk from the waggon ways at Killingworth, up through Burradon, through weetslade and come out at Seaton Burn. I sometimes walk up to the park at Wideopen from their to. I really appreciate your help. I will take posters up later in the week I hope to cover the list below.

Thanks again,
Kay

I will walk Gosforth park tonight and will drive all the streets in Wideopen and Seaton Burn when I am finished. What way do you walk to Wideopen/Seaton Burn from Forest Hall? Sorry but havent got access to a printer today so cant poster but will alert all other dog walkers etc.

Accidently double posted that last msgLast edited: 2011-08-02 16:05:56 by Kay
Kay
we haven't postered the following areas yet:
Coastal areas
Gosforth Park
Newcastle Town Moor
Jesmond Dene
Armstrong Park
Leazes Park
Exhibition Park
Wideopen
Seaton Burn
The Waggon Ways - we cover a lot of these on our walks and i'm still yet to poster a lot of them. I also walk to wideopen and seaton burn with her which is why I need to target those areas. I have had a message from a child on by facebook group page to say someone was saying they had found a dog of a similar description that they were going to sell if noone claimed her. It may be a hoax but I am trying to find out what area she heard this in so I can get posters up. Will let you know if I find out anything further. I do think she has been picked up. There are now 700 people who know through facebook alone and people have been ringing, emailing and texting left right and centre to get more posters off me just from seeing the posters and facebook info that has gone up so I am pretty sure someone is keeping her in the hope she won't be found so they can sell her.
Mal
Kay I will look on way homwe and after work tonight, let us know if there are any particular areas you need covered. What about Gosforth Park if she has headed that way as lots of places to hide or do you think she has been picked up, if so more ansd more posters needed.
Fingers crossed you get a sighting soon. M
Kay
Hey All,

Jessie is still missing. I am putting more posters up and shall continue to until we get her back. I have set up a facebook group about this. People can add themselves and add all their friends. We currently have 600 people looking for her just through this group so if people want to add themselevs who are on facebook and keep spreading the word that way it would be great. Here is the link http://www.facebook.com/groups/188299384565660/?ap=1

Thanks

Few things to mention/check - yes, someone may have kept her, so you need to continue postering to make her too hot to handle. Poster around the area and then further outwards as far as you can. Are there any gypsies nearby? If so you need to check but don't go alone - ask dog warden or police. Any railways lines - you must tell them your dog is missing as they may see her. Any roads - check with the Highways Agencies or local council. Any water areas - check with rivers authority etc. So many strange things happen to our dogs on here, so yes, someone may have put a collar on her and she's escaped. Or, it wasn't her and she's somewhere else. But, some dogs are clever at hiding out for months! Never give up hope! Keep checking in with the vets and rescues - very important! Don't worry about getting on their nerves - you need to keep on top of this. You are doing so well - hang in there and get those posters flying! Come on Jessie. x

Do hope Jessie will soon be found
Kay
Thanks, I have some colour posters printed off today, and people can print them for the link above I will be putting more out all this week and I have recruited loads of pals to cover their areas in case she has been taken away from the area she was lost at. Thanks for looking and keeping us up to date.
Mal
We were looking saturday pm includind Rising Sun park, saw all your posters so someone must know what has happened to her.
We wondered if it was maybe worth getting some posters printed in colour?
Fingers crossed there is a sighting soon.
Kay
Also if anyone hears about a boxer bitch for sale, please get in touch and i will chase it up. Thanks Kay
Kay
Still not found, we think it may have been a false alarm but when we got there no dog was there. Please keep looking, if/when I get her back I will update here and take all the posters down so people will know. We are on day 5 now which makes me think someone is trying to keep her so please keep your eyes peeled when out on walks. She has a really long tongue and quite small dark eyes also has a full tail.
Kay
Possible sighting behind Sainsburys at Forest Hall today, a boxer was seen roaming with a collar, she didn't have a collar on when she escaped so we are not sure if it was her. We received a message but when we looked there was no sign of her. She may now be wearing a collar if someone has took her in and maybe she has escaped again.

Seen you on glebe rd on thursday looking for her but couldn't stop as i was working, will keep a look out for her when i'm out with my lot
