Many thanks to everyone who has left lovely messages. It has been a frantic few weeks as I had also given a forever home to a young tri collie called Jess (very nervous)so have gone from one to none to one to two collies!!I have been so lucky as Indie has been great and has brought Jess out of her shell. Indie is helping the PDSA with their up and coming MircoChipping campaign as she is proof that it works. I can't thank Jan and the work of Dog Lost enough, as without them and their relentless dedication and support this happy ending would not have been possible.
Licks and kisses for all, Indie, Jess and Michelle xxxxxxx

So so happy to report that Indie has been FOUND and she is safe and well. She was picked up by two young boys this afternoon in the HUYTON area running across the busy roads!! She still had the collar on when she was STOLEN and also had a lead attached. The boys took her home and wanted to keep her but their mum took her to the PDSA who checked her Chip and BINGO it was INDIE. The two boys were upset to see her go.

The DW did call to one of the addresses this morning but there was no dog there, looks like the word may have gotten out and Indie was TOO HOT TO HANDLE.

A MASSIVE THANKS to Animal Aid for the alert and to the DW for following it up.

Michelle is currently on holiday and is over the moon. The PDSA want to use Indie's story to promote the MICROCHIP as they are currently running a campaign.

Whoever has had Indie has cared for her as she is in very good condition.

It is with the greatest pleasure to be moving the gorgeous Indie into the BLUE and we will be getting a REUNITED photo a.s.a.p.

Thank you to everyone who has helped in the search. Welcome home Indie lots and lots of cuddles from everyone on DL. Jan x

URGENT! Hello, i was informed today about a man who is keeping a Blue Merle female collie that he has found. He knows that the dog is lost but wants to keep it and is refusing to hand it over to anyone to scan it! He lives in Fincham Road, Liverpool. L14 Area. I will try and get the house number. Not sure if it is the same dog as i am just passing on what i have been told but apparently it is of a similar age too! x
Bevjg
Michelle, there is a dogs fun day on Saturday in Haresfinch park at 12 o'clock. It might be worth going and handing out flyers as there will be a lot of dog owners and stalls there. Bev xx

Many thanks to everyone for still looking out for Indie. Took a call tonight from a young girl as there had been a BC found poster she had seen in Chorley. When I rang it was a dog that had been found but still great that there is still people looking out for her and we had a call from Essex last Thursday as they had seen the poster in the local vets. Again not Indie but great that it has gone out so far and wide. Michelle xx

J MO thanks for the continued support and Ormskirk market would be a great addtion. I have been into the only vets in Rainford in person and did the slow drive all round the village and the park areas in Rainford (including the recreational club) but no joy.
Michelle x
J MO
Definately sounds like she has been sold on. Willl also poster around Ormskirk in time for the Market on Thursday. Thanks Majorjet for the posters. I did see one vet in Rainford. Is thus the only one? Would be worth a visit in person as if anyone has bought a pup they would usually take it to the vet for a check up.

UPDATED various size posters emailed to Michelle and J MO earlier tonight.

If anyone else wants the posters emailing can you please let us know. Thanks. Jan x
Tig
Many thanks J MO for the help. I did go out and about around the area this morning but with all this bad weather today not many people out walking dogs. I will contact the DW's wider as suggested. The sighting was with a family Man, Woman and child walking and who has her now may not know she was originaly stolen so anything is feasable. Suggestion from the local people is to ask the Co-Op and the chip shops in the village to put up the updated poster so I will do that tomorrow when they are all open.

Thanks J MO for all your help and the text greatly appreciated. :)

I did update the poster with STILL MISSING and do know people in the Rainford Area have seen the coverage in the St Halens Star which is great. I'll add possible sighting in Rainford and update the various size posters, but not on my computer at the moment that has the posters on.

Michelle can confirm she has contacted the DW we do always recommend going further afield with DW's especially if there is a possible sighting in the area.

The sighting was of Indie being walked in the area. Jan x
J MO
Driven around Rainford today but no sign of Indie. Think I found the park that the gentleman was looking for opposite the Bridge Pub by Railway road. Need to buy some plastic wallets and will poster around the area in the week. Found the vet and grooming parlour so will poster there. Jan can you amend the poster to say possible sighting in Rainford in bold. Had a thought that people might wonder why we r postering in Rainford. Not far from where I live so can get up there quite regularly. On the border of West Lancs. Has anyone contacted their Dog Warden? Can't remember her name but has been very helpful in the past. Was she sighted with someone? If not I know West Lancs have a dog trap that we have used before. X
J MO
Nearer to me than I thought. Will go for a drive round today

Thanks Jan for the update - everyone I have spoken to recently said they had seen the article in the St Helens Star which does go out to Rainford as well so the publicity worked just need someone to see her and make that phone call!

I've googled the area and postcode WA11 7LN comes up.

Met up with a work colleague last Friday she lives in Rainford and she asked me if there had been any news on Indie, she had seen the coverage in the St Helens Star. Jan x

Hi Lisa, thanks for the posting on facebook and the agility club. I started agility back in 1986 with my first dog and had got Indie to get back into the sport. Still keeping positive that I will get her back soon.

Had a call yesterday from a man who believed he had seen Indie being walked in Rainford at the park near Rainford Junction. I had not issued flyers or posters out to that side even though it is close to where I live as she had been taken in Newton-le-Willows. I have supplied the police and community officers with flyers and the vets tonight whilst covering the area in question. The gentleman that phoned did state that he would keep a closer eye out and let us know straight away if he sees her again. I have had text messages from agility and dog training clubs down south who are aware she has been stolen and will spread the word within their communities. Very grateful to everyone just have to keep hoping that she will be found.

Hi Michelle, we just missed each other in Taylor Park yesterday. I'm so annoyed about the poster issue in Queens Park as I could have had Tia back on Wednesday if they hadn't all been torn down. Luckily I had put posters up on the retail parks and bus stops as that's where the lady who spotted Tia saw one.

I gave posters to the ice cream vans and the park rangers in Taylor Park. The rangers also have flyers in case they spot her around the park. They can't put posters up in the tea rooms but I gave the staff in there flyers too.

Another good place is the car boot sale on Sunday in Chalon Way car park. I spent a few hours there on the 1st May. Some of the stall holders are from out of the area and travel round to car boot sales so they can pass the word on. Bev x

Tig, thanks for the update and email.

Great you and Bev are supporting each other, when you get them both back they will have to meet up. The sightings sound good and that she is still in the area. I am sure you will get more people on the look out with her being in the St Helens Star which has very good coverage across St Helens. Jan x

Bumped due to sightings.

I have also managed to post Indies details through the help of Border Collie Rescue HQ on their website http://www.bordercollierescue.org/dogs/content/LostStolen.html lets hope that raises her profile even more.

Thanks to doggo and Nicj for the comments and offers of ideas and support I will follow those through. Merele's do attrach the attention just so sad when it is the wrong attention for the wrong reasons! We had a few calls over the weekend from kind people who thought they may have seen her in Taylor Park in St Helens so I have followed up the call. A further sighting on Sat was called in to Indie HQ so I have issued further poster and flyers in and around the area. Fingers crossed it is her and she is still close. x Last edited: 2011-05-08 22:44:33 by Tig

Hi Sorry to hear about Indie. As a fellow owner of a blue mearle i am always worried about how much attention they seem to attract. I will keep a look out and have posted the poster on my facebook page. I will also print one off on Monday and put up at work. I have no other suggestions for you seems like you have covered all the bases. Good luck and hope that Indie is home with you soon.
doggo
Have you been in touch with the Liverpool Echo and Manchester Evening News also. Both worth a try, given the length of time Indie has now been missing. Also put ads on gumtree (with photos) in the pets seection for all these areas and right round: wraparound as it were.Someone out there has got to know something or know someone who does...Contact Dogs Trust Liverpool and Manchester Dogs Home to alert them too.keep in contact with the regular car boot people since I've heard of dogs being sold at car boots too. You've done an excellent job of keeping Indie high profile. Now just turn the heat up higher so they'll burn themselves if they hang onto Indie any longer....
Tig
Paula Marie many thanks for the advice and my friend and I did do both the Friday and saturday markets at Earlstown last week. We had targeted the main shops like Tesco, Wilkinsons the pet shop, bus station, railway station, pus etc. Thank you for the offer to help much appriciated but feel we have covered that area. I will get in touch with the Leigh publications as you have suggested. No sightings or calls since last Friday so will consider a further leaflet drop in a week or so to keep her profile high.
Enjoy the fostering - have you got a home for him yet?
Michelle
Paula Marie
Sorry to see Indie is missing and not been able to offer advice sooner ( been off line with computer problems)
Although Warrington postcode Trebarron Garden Centre isn't far away from Leigh, might be worth contacting Leigh Reporter and Leigh Journal to see if they would run a story. Large Car Boot sale on Earlestown Market (Not far from Trebarron) every Saturday with lots of visitors might be worth postering this area or handing out smaller posters. Would offer to poster, but can't promise I can make it due to busy day planned, if I can change plans will take along a few posters
Fostering a beautiful male Collie pup the same age as Indie at the moment, so Indie's story has touched my heart more than usual. Hoping Indie is soon home.

Michelle, thanks for updating us, you and Bev are doing a fantastic job and it will eventually pay off, the support you have in the area has been great.

If you can get Indie in the papers you mentioned in your emails that would be really help spread the word she is bound to draw attention with her markings and bright blue eyes.

Well done and thank you to everyone who is helping especially checking CCTV footage for you. Keeping everything crossed the sighting near Tesco's was her and she is still in the area. This is exactly the same area Tia has been sighted running loose. Keep up the hard work we are all willing for Indie and Tia to be in the BLUE soon. Jan x

Bumped due to possible sightings.
Tig
Hi all, I am Indie's owner and can't thank you all enough for all the help and support you have given in trying to bring her home. It has been a difficult week and a half with little sleep and much activity. Jan at DogLost has been fantastic in guideing me though all the options available and as she was stolen, St Helens police have also been very supportive, checking CCTV and following any leads that we had etc. Difficult to keep positive when for all the hard work there appears to be little gain but it is still early days and for her sake I will be keeping her profile as high as I can in the hope she is still in the area.
Thanks to Nikkinoodles as following a potential sighting for her last Mon at Tesco in St Helens - A great guy at the council checked the CCTV for me and knew who I was talking about as soon as I spoke to him. Sadly no footage but but everyone is being so great. Thanks also to Bevjg as we are looking in the same area, lets hope we both get lucky.

Spoken at length to owner now and updated details. Indie was taken within 5 mins of last being seen in their car which was parked right near the entrance. A man and women were seen in a blue/green car acting suspiciously next to owners car, they were double parked. CCTV footage is being requested to be viewed. Police have been contacted and a Crime No. given.

Family have done a fantastic job spreading the word and contacting the right people. Newspapers have been emailed and will be followed up on Tuesday when they open. The St Helens Star has been great in the past and have got results for owners. Vets have also been contacted and Chip Co alerted to her being stolen.

I've emailed further info/advice and will do various size posters a.s.a.p. We must make her TOO HOT TO HANDLE. Jan x
