So thrilled to see Taz has been reunited. Just for info, the only places dogs are not allowed BY LAW is where food is actually being prepared - so restaurants etc can allow them in provided they are not allowed in the kitchens. Can't understand why shops/banks etc would want to ban them. I wouldn't leave a dog of mine outside any shop and if they don't like it I go elsewhere.Last edited: 2011-02-12 13:13:34 by Lankeela

Have been following this and absolutely delighted that Taz has been found.
Hope he is ok after his ordeal and look forward to hearing the full story.
Jayne - perhaps you can persuade Radio Cambridge to give you/DL a weekly spot! Might also encourage other BBC radio stations to be willing to announce details of stolen dogs. Good luck. Carole

Was so pleased to hear this earlier. Well done ALL involved! You stars. :)

Heard from kennels that Taz is thankfully in okay condition, lost a bit of weight but otherwise fine. Sure we'll hear more from owner very shortly, kennels were looking forward to the reunion.....and of course none more so than Tracy. So pleased for you.

Welcome home Taz. x

Folks on twitter very relieved to see Taz back where he belongs.

I'm just about keeping it together at work this afternoon. I'm waiting to hear from Tracy to say she acutally has him in her arms and then I fear I will also have a bit of a cry - sometimes they touch your heart and Taz has done that to the point where I felt it was actually going to break. Once he is at home and safe I may actually be able to sleep a bit more peacefully too. Last edited: 2011-02-10 16:46:56 by Auntie Katie

I have heard that it's not illegal to take dogs into any shop, they really can't stop you from doing it. it's just their policy, doesn't mean to have to comply

I am a puppy walker for 'Dogs for the Disabled' and although they are allowed in because they are working, it would not be right to let other dogs in as well. I suppose it is seen as if you let them into a bank/building society, then you have to let them in everywhere - where do you draw the line? I have 2 of my own dogs and would be to scared to take them in, although even taking a dfd dog in places, people can be quite rude but I don't let it bother me then.

I just hope Taz is found soon, he looks such a sweet boy.
Lankeela
Meant to say, details put on easterndogscene. Hope the radio etc brings some news soon.
Lankeela
It makes me so cross when places like banks won't let people take dogs in - I am with Nationwide and although they have an sticker saying no dogs I always take mine in. So far no-one has said anything but if they do I will tell them to close my account and go elsewhere. Perhaps someone should write to Barclays telling them about this poor customer of theirs!

Come on Taz, where are you?

Just done the interview with Cambs radio and Taz was mentioned again...I asked listners to go onto doglost to see the photo of taz and keep an eye out.

From that interview Radio Cambridgeshire have rung and we have a 9.20 slot with them tomorrow.....
Auntie Katie
Tracy has been on Radio Cambridge in the last hour or so doing a piece on Taz, unfortunatley I missed it but hope to find the link online. Thank you so much to Maria and Janice who are pushing little Taz and giving Tracy some much needed support! Thank you!! xx

Thank you Jo - we have contacted the centre at Block Fen and they are watching out for him but thank you for the suggestion. We need things like that just in case we have missed somewhere - it also shows Tracy that people are all thinking of him. xLast edited: 2011-02-07 12:46:17 by Auntie Katie

Hi

We will definitely keep a look out for him as March is not that far from us really. I have a Whippet X and I shudder to think of her being in the hands of the wrong people. Will keep everything crossed for this little man and his poor poor Mum.

Jo
xx

P.S. I take it someone has contacted the RSPCA Centre at Block Fen, Wimblington, near March, just in case he turns up there and his chip has moved?Last edited: 2011-02-03 00:23:20 by West Norfolk RSPCA

Thank you Sarah, we definately advise the same but for all dogs. I can safely say that once Taz is home his mum won't leave him outside again. I just wish she didn't have to learn the hard way. Taz is helping her get through a very difficult time and is her reason for getting up each day. We MUST, between us, get him back! Any help anybody can offer will be very gratefully received.
sarah
Please Please do not leave greyhound lurchers or whippets tied up outside shops or in unlocked cars even for a minute, there are people from certain communitys that will steal these breeds thinking they maybe of some use for coursing or illegal racing, these people have no regard for the animals or rightful owners and the pain they cause by doing this
Auntie Katie
The picture we have of Taz is of him when he was about 6 months old, he is now just a year. He looks very much the same but bigger, he is fawn with a dark muzzle and tail with a white triangular shape on his chest. His owner is devastated by his loss and needs as much help to get Taz known as possible, she isn't very well and is struggling to cope with everything else on top of losing Taz. If anybody local can help poster please let us know.

He has been neutered and he is microchipped. He was wearing a tan, whippet collar when he went missing.
