Paddy The farmer is within his/her rights to shoot a dog on site if it is worrying his/her sheep/ Because it is a farmers livelihood And is legal for a farmer to do so. That`s the Law. I dont like it either , but there you are

This is absolutely tragic, both for the owner, and the dog. Feel sorry for the sheep too. Apparently sheep being killed by dogs is rising. But surely a tranquillizer gun could be used instead? And give the owner a warning? I know people with dogs who live near farms but dont take their dogs near them. It`s just not worth it. Nightie, night. Sadly Max was chasing sheep and couldn't be caught so has been shot by the farmer. Run free at the Rainbow Bridge Max (updated Julie, Friends of Akitas Trust (UK))
