Guys I know it's a long shot, and this poor dog is in a right state, but could Dog ID 122197 be Pippin? Surely without daily medication which I'm assuming is for some skin complaint, Pippin could end up looking like this, notice the black tuffs of fur too, please check out this babe admin!

Owner already alerted to this one on Find Pip FB-

Albeit this dog is obviously in a state I'd love to think it was Pip.
Hoping for you Gareth.

"The below dog looks a lot like Pippin, though I cannot say for sure as a number of other dogs have in the past.

What I do know however is that a young man posted a For Sale ad on Shpock for the below male dog in Liverpool. He then deleted the advert from the website and denied having ever uploaded it.

Needless to say screenshots of the advert and the below gentleman's face were taken before its deletion.

If you are this individual, know this individual, or recognise the dog in the picture, do yourselves a favour and take the dog to a vet or dog's home, where he can be subsequently given to his original owner, or another responsible owner, instead of being sold for £100 to random people on the Internet."

DO YOU KNOW WHO ATTACKED OUR CAR THE NIGHT BEFORE PIPPIN'S THEFT?

On the evening of 14th March, the Eve of Pip's abduction from our home, an oily liquid was poured over our car as it was parked on the driveway. We have been informed that the substance may have been battery acid or a paint stripper.

For the person who directly provides the Police with the necessary information to arrest those who did this, there is a £1000 Reward. This is a lot of money for such a simple thing, and someone reading this post possesses the necessary knowledge of the events of 14th March to obtain it. If this is you, dial the Police's 101 number now, quoting the crime reference number 16000054357 as you do so.

Alternatively, should information be provided to the Police, which leads to the arrest those responsible for the theft of Pippin himself, the Reward will be £2000. For information directly leading to the safe return of Pippin the Reward will instead be a significant £4000.

"We now know that the dog recently found in Wales was not neutered and hence sadly was not Pippin. But on the plus side, we also know, thanks to the good work of Nathan Owen, his employer, Hope Rescue and everyone on the ground yesterday, that a dog will now be cared for and perhaps returned to his original owners. Thank you to everyone who participated and followed the events at D & D Concrete so passionately."

Hope rescue response...It is extremely worrying, we are trying our hardest to track her down so we can get him to the vets, reported to dog warden, advertised as found etc. Just because he is in a bad condition does not mean he doesn't have an owner looking for him as he may be stolen. By law he MUST be reported to the dog warden and cannot be taken out of area.

"The important thing is to gain the dogs trust by setting up just one feeding station at a regular time which the site staff are doing. We know from experience that this is the most effective approach. You cannot set up a trap without knowing for certain exactly where the dog is returning too and this takes a day or two. Patience and a plan is needed, not lots of people trying to catch it and scaring it away."

Thank you Baydogs for update. I am keeping everything crossed here x
Baydogs
Thanks Charlie and Sooty. Nathan has been in contact with those concerned. It seems that this little dog has been around for 4/5 days. He has been feeding it and sleeps inside at night. It is reluctant to be caught, yet (from comments)it seems that there is an old guy (? rough sleeper)who can put a slip lead on it, so the dog obviously trusts that person. If that person could be located, they could be a great help in catching it for the warden, and this would obviously be less traumatic for the dog. Owl thinks the dog is a Puli and has commented here-

but of course it has yet to be caught.
This dog has become quite the celebrity today with (I read)a number of different people having different ideas on how to go about this, and who to contact. I'm fearing that it will all go pear-shaped if too many are involved.
Tracy, would a DL co-ordinator be helpful here if there is one available?

Yes, it could be Milly. But whoever this dog is, it has clearly been out for some time and (as you are aware) will need a careful approach or no-one is going to get the chance to find out.
Baydogs
Thanks Charlie and Sooty. Yes, we both know exactly what could happen. What would be useful to Gareth would be a confirmed location. Can you get a private message to Nathan to ask that please? Keeping the location quiet for now would be good. I understand that this dog has been seen by Nathan on a number of occasions- is that right?

Baydogs. As far as I can tell, this dog is still around, BUT there appears to be too many people getting involved and some bright person appears to have found out locate and has started posting on facebook, but unsure if right location, if this poor thing is frighten and able to run..then you know what could happen!. People have sent messages to the person that first posted ( Nathan Owen). It does not look as if RSPCA have been contacted. x
I have now posted the link to the main Dog Lost site x
Baydogs
Charlie and Sooty, is the dog still there now do you know? If so, can you comment on this FB post to the effect that it would be better to keep the dog under watch rather than try to grab or chase please. Then notify RSPCA to catch it. I see people are worried about cost, but there shouldn't be a charge. If there is, I will pay.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that is taking the time to update Pippin's doglost page and doing such sterling work in supporting the campaign to find him.

Sadly the reward money is yet to stimulate Pip's return. Yet we are nowhere near the stage of giving up. Too many people are looking for Pip and one way or the other we will find him or expose the truth of his theft.

Jaycey
Has there been any updates about Pippin?.. Can't believe a £4,000 reward hasn't made someone pass on information to get him back home where he belongs! xx

DOG SIGHTING BETWEEN COSBY & LITTLETHORPE.
At about 11am this morning, a lady unfortunately crashed her car swerving to avoid a little black, terrier-type dog in the road. The dog was reported as heading over fields afterwards towards Whetstone golf course.

Please can everyone in that area keep their eyes peeled. If not Pip this is highly likely to be a local dog that's got out.
Baydogs
Update. Owner comments from Find Pip the Stolen Dog-

"Hello everyone, I just want to update you on the above. Having had feedback from locals of Ashby Parva I can confirm that this sighting concerned another dog that temporarily got out by itself on Thursday. Sadly this was not Pippin."

Please keep looking and sharing.

Yesterday there was an error in the post concerning the black dog sighting on 12/05/16. The sighting was in ASHBY PARVA not Ashby Magna.

I have adjusted the below post accordingly.

CAN ANYONE HELP?
Copied from Find Pip the Stolen Dog Facebook Page-

SMALL BLACK DOG SIGHTED - ASHBY PARVA (12/05/16)

A lady called and relayed the below information to me today. She was driving through the Leicestershire village of Ashby Parva on 12/05/16, and just outside the village's garage she saw a little black dog on the edge of the road. On her car's approach the little dog climbed on to the pavement. At this point the lady expected to see the dog's owner nearby. After passing she glanced back at the dog through her rear-view mirror and was surprised to see then that it was alone. This incident took place at around 11:00-11:30am on Thursday 12/05/16.

Do you or does anyone that you know live in the village of Ashby Parva? Is there a little black dog also living nearby that this could have been? Are you aware of such a dog getting out at about this time? Is such a dog known to roam around the village? Has a little black dog, previously unknown to the locals, been found or picked up nearby?

If you have any information that could help with this inquiry, please can you kindly share it here or on

Pippin followers, please note-
Pippin was stolen over two months ago now and his appearance may very well have changed. If not clipped regularly, his coat will have grown and he could look like this dog -

who is NOT Pippin and has been discounted.

I have requested a shaggier picture from the owners (if they have one) but for now the above photos will have to suffice.

Update on below possible sighting-
"More Information: The dog turned left off of the main road just before Waitrose. This was at the cross roads where there is a building undergoing a renovation and covered in Scaffolding. The sign on the building says "Stoughton Builders". This road called New Street. New Street leads to the Indian restaurant Swatlands. Close by is a mini roundabout with a church just off it. This was very close to Oadby town centre. On New Street there is a furniture place and business operating out of a bluish building which I think sells windows."

"The window place is called EAS windows. They're going to helpfully check to see if they have anything on CCTV from last night."

Anyone in the area who could look around?
Anyone else in this area who would kindly look at their CCTV?Last edited: 2016-05-05 14:41:27 by Baydogs

"WAS THIS PIPPIN?

Does anyone have an update on this sighting at all, which reads as follows: "I saw a dog tonight (04/05/16). I thought at first it was a cat cos it's legs were short but as I got closer realised it's head was bigger and def a dog I was heading for sainsbury's glen road and it crossed the A6 in oadby after waitrose and headed quickly towards Oadby side . It didn't seem to have much road sense and I wondered if it's hearing and sight weren't brilliant. I wondered who on earth would let a dog wander like that then quickly thought of pippin. I reported this to local police and tried to turn aground when possible to go after it but lost sight of it. It may not be pippin but it still is someone's dog and shouldn't have been out alone at night. This was at 9pm."

I have checked with the person who saw this dog and she says that it was black. We're really keen for other people who may have seen this dog since last night to come forward."

"ARE YOU THIS PERSON?

On Thursday 21st April, a lady was shopping in a Leicestershire based pet shop. During the course of doing so, she proposed a previously untried and distinctive idea to help find Pippin to one of its staff members.

I'm afraid that the vagueness of this message is necessary, as unfortunately there are a lot of hoaxers out there, some of whom will likely try to impersonate this lady if I reveal more information.

If you are this lady and reading this, I have been told by the staff member you spoke to that you visit the aforementioned pet shop once-a-month on average.

Please can you therefore discretely get in touch to explain your idea and the pet shop which you shop at. This will allow me to be sure that you are genuinely the person I was told about and enable us to make progress.

Thank you for your attention with this matter."Last edited: 2016-05-01 12:18:30 by Baydogs

-------------------
FRIENDS, ASSOCIATES & FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE PEOPLE TO HAVE TAKEN PIPPIN:

I am dedicating both this message and the new information within it to you. This is so that you can more fully consider the people on whose behalf you may be withholding information from the Police.

The thieves who took Pippin broke into his own home to steal him. They chose not to take any other items from the property, despite their monetary value, and stole only Pippin. In stealing Pippin, they took an ill fifteen year-old dog who, despite his obvious value to his family, would only have been able to be sold to another party for a small fraction of our own reward. During the theft the thieves wounded Pippin and left traces of his blood at the scene.

The thieves who took Pippin have still not returned him, despite the obvious immense pain his theft has inflicted on his lady owner in this Radio Leicester report: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03n0zmp

The evening before Pippin's theft, a foul-smelling substance was maliciously poured over his owners' car as it was parked on their driveway. After Pippin's theft, an unknown male threatened the lady in the above-mentioned report on her own front doorstep, referring to her as "a mad old bitch". (Just in case people state otherwise: this is the first time these two occurrences have been relayed via social media)

So to those withholding information from the Police regarding Pippin's theft, I ask you this: What is it that you expect to gain in return for protecting such people?

Protecting a culprit in the way that you are doing - this associate, this friend, this brother, this son - will ensure only further stress, suspicion and public anger to be contended with by yourselves. You will also be emboldening the culprit to plunge into further disappointment, dishonour and disgrace, while drawing you deeper into the chaos he has chosen to create around himself.

You have a chance now, not only to rid yourself of this evil burden, but to also earn £2000 from doing so. It's a win-win scenario... This is the reward for information provided directly to the Police, leading to the arrest of those then proven responsible.

Or why not double your money? Safely deliver Pippin or information to the Police leading directly to him, and a total of £4000 will find its way to you.

I suggest therefore that you think over and compare what exactly it is that myself and the thieves are offering to you.

Which would you prefer: goodness & money OR stress & disgrace?

Your chance to choose the former option will not be around forever.

Skywalker99, this thief is obviously an idiot not to have acted on the reward by now. Certainly not a professional. Certainly not emotionally mature. I think they were someone desperate for some quick dosh; an opportunist, who thought Pippin was younger than he really is and therefore worth more on resale.

It seems the whole nation has taken this little dog to their hearts; from John O'Groats to Land's End there are literally thousands of us willing him safely home plus a dedicated team of people following up every possible sighting or piece of information. It is only a matter of time until the truth is revealed but sadly Pippin is still missing and it is now over five weeks since he had his last medications and special diet. His health will have undoubtedly deteriorated. We are all ever hopeful for some news and his safe return but time is running out.

Please share as much as possible- it doesn't matter where you live- the campaign to find him or find out what happened to him must(and WILL)keep growing. Talk to people such as the elderly who may not have the internet, talk to other dogwalkers. Look twice at every small black dog that you see and remember that Pippin has a lump at the base of his spine by his tail and the tip of his tail has some hair loss. He may well be coughing. And LISTEN to the word on the street. Have you heard anything, anything at all? ALL information is helpful.

Do you know anyone who has recently acquired a dog like this?
Do you have a suspicion as to who may have been involved in this theft? Pippin was taken from his home on Tuesday 15th March around 12.30pm. Nothing else was taken. Dog blood was found at the scene.

Please come forward with ANY information. This isn't about a stolen phone, a car, a piece of jewellery,an object, a THING. This theft is entirely different;it robbed a small ailing elderly dog of his home, his security, his health, and those who loved him. It has left his family devastated. Another Pippin cannot be bought. He is, and always will be, irreplaceable. And the concern for his welfare is incredibly painful. Can you imagine the pain of simply NOT KNOWING? If you know something and don't pass on that information can you honestly live with yourself? If you have to carry that to your grave don't you think it will affect the rest of your life? How will you feel if it's a dog you personally know that's taken next time?

Consider these things as you look into Pippin's eyes in the new photos here-
https://www.facebook.com/FindPipTheStolenDog/?fref=nf&hc_location=ufi
He was happy in those pictures, wasn't he. Loved and cared for. He didn't do anything to deserve this, nor did his family.
Are you able to think about that and shrug it off, put it all to the back of your mind and not think about it again? I doubt it.

They have learnt what love is about and what it feels like to have a dog respond to that love. Not only that, they are learning how good it feels to help a dog and also the people who will eventually adopt it. They've earnt respect and more importantly they've regained SELF-respect. To quote one of these inmates-
"I have been locked up for over twenty two years...The biggest reason why I want to help care for, feed, train and love the dogs; I want to be a part of giving someone something that will always love them and be there for them always. A person can give as much money the he or she has to charity or person, but no amount of money can love a person or go fetch a child’s favorite toy or teddy bear. Please allow me to give a person more than words or money. — Oliver "
So, to anyone with any information, why not do a similar thing, relieve yourself of this heavy secret and give someone something that money cannot buy. You can do this anonymously, even claim the reward anonymously. Buy your kids a holiday or a Christmas that they'll remember all of their lives. Heat your home next winter without worry. Upgrade your set of wheels. Pay off a chunk of debt. Party for a long long time. If you want to be completely alturistic, give the money to a charity of your choice and feel twice as good about yourself.

If I was able to talk to the thief now, I would say this....
To say I don't like what you did would be a very polite understatement, but I've known people who have been in such dark places at certain times in their lives that they've done things they always swore to themselves that they'd never do. They said they'd never cross a line that they eventually did. And afterwards they felt like sh*t. I have a suspicion that may have happened with you the day you took Pippin. If you still have him, for heaven's sake act smart; say you found him somewhere, claim the £4,000 reward and get out of town before your name and address is published in the papers along with the date of your court appearance. Use the money for a fresh start because with the continuing publicity and high emotions about this little dog my guess is that home ain't going to be such a friendly welcoming place when your identity is revealed. If you are already known to the police, get a friend to do it and share the money with them. Sold him on? Get him back! Even if you have to pay more than you got for him you'll still be well in pocket from the reward. If Pippin can be returned to his owners the heat will go out of this. These options are the only way out of the situation , plus you can claw back some much needed self-respect at the same time. The alternative is to stay a Loser. Forever. Because you've crossed the line and that's what happens when you do. It's only downhill from hereon and you know you are sinking.
You also know there's truth in what I'm saying.
Remember, it's only a matter of time before someone squeals- either through common decency and consideration for Pippin and his family or because you take their Nan's dog next time, or because they are as desperate as you are for some quick money....£2,000 for info leading to your arrest. All confidential on 101 or completely anonymous using Crimestoppers.
In all ways, they'd be fools not to.
The big question is... who is smart enough to be the first?Last edited: 2016-04-23 21:30:22 by Baydogs

Any news on Pippin? Has the £4000 reward produced any leads? It seems to have been a targeted theft, does anyone have a grudge against the owners?
