yet again after sharing the post on facebook, a mutual acquaintance searched contact with this lady. She kept on saying that the dog is still registered on her name (chip is still Russian), but she lives with an older lady and is happy. Refuses to provide any photo of the dog whatsoever and is getting hysterical, accusing the rescuer being a criminal and threatening with a law suit. ALL THIS BECAUSE OF ASKING FOR A PHOTO, that proves the dog is alive. Unfortunately, I start doubting it.
The acquaintance has sent her the link to this listing. If she requests to remove it, I'd do it gladly, if we receive the recent images of the dog, alive and well. Although, officially, Vita is still registered in Russia.
Xenia
Svend, thank you. We don't have her passport or a photocopy of it unfortunately, only her chip number.

Xenia, to register on a UK database you need to have a photocopy of Vita's passport, and UK address and contact telephone number. The procedure is very simple: complete the registration form and send to the database company with the passport photocopy and payment (£6 for Anibase). I have always used Anibase, but there are of course other databases: https://www.anibase.com/uploads/files/ANIBASE_CHANGE_OF_DETAILS_FORM.pdf Last edited: 2017-01-23 13:15:48 by Svend

CJ would be better placed to advise you on this, I believe from an earlier post she is in contact with you. Not all vets scan in UK, at the moment, so Vita may still be registered with a vet and just not have been scanned. Last edited: 2017-01-23 13:23:11 by Mary
Xenia
Mary, could you please advice how we can register Vita on UK database? Since none of us lives there. My friend lives in a city near Moscow and I live in Netherlands.
Xenia
done
Mary
Admin or Xenia please remove chip number for security reasons
Mary
Xenia, May I suggest your friend registers the microchip on a UK database so she will be notified if Vita is scanned. Is the rescue based in Russia and are you personally based in UK?
Xenia
the dog supposedly lives in the UK for about two years, her chip is still registered in Russia?! She is apparently not checked by the veterinarian or vaccinated. This girl is so kind and trusting, how could someone just give her away? The rescuer and the team around, we have invested a great deal of time, effort and money in finding her a hoime and moving her to UK. We really are entitled to know whether is wel, loved and taken care of. Otherwise we would like to find her a new home..Last edited: 2017-01-23 12:41:00 by Xenia

No, unfortunately nothing yet.In the meantime the rescuer was blocked on facebook by the lady who 'adopted'Vita and gave her away. We still know nothing and it is so extremely upsetting :(.

I really hope that Vita is safe!! Shared again x

From what we can gather ,no info was forthcoming from " new owner" in UK. We should all share far as possible in hope somebody has seen her.

Really hope you get some good news soon Xenia, it's the not knowing that is so painful.x

Thank you Xenia for update. Do you know if previous owner advertised Vita on a selling site, if there is a description of the person that took her,was this person Eastern European, was vita passed over at home in a park, do you know roughly when this happened. If you have an e-mail address (which I gather, is for new owner) couldn't the police do any trace on that
Xenia
I would like to reply to comment from 2016-02-13 20:52 made by Heth. This dog was rescued as a puppy by my friend in Russia. She runs a small shelter (which is actually a room in her apartment and a couple of temporary paid houses in her city) that is mostly crowd-funded and funded by her own money. Russian streets are full of abandoned, sick, mutilated and tortured animals, most of the humans have no idea what a great responsibility owning a pet is. My friend is one of the few volunteers, who is trying to save at least some. After the cats and dogs (some of them deadly sick and malnourished) are treated by the vet (and my friend), neutered and vaccinated, my friend starts looking for the families for the animals. Two of her found and cured cats moved to Netherlands, one is mine now, another was adopted by one of my friends. A couple of other cats and dogs moved to Germany and are very loved there. Vita was adopted by a Russian lady who lives in London, she was serious about getting a second dog and after thorough check my friend believed that this lady would become a perfect owner for Vita. Unfortunately, after a couple of months she heard that Vita was given away without any name or address. My friend was in shock, it is always promised that the new owners keep in touch and inform rescue about any changes, also if it is not working, my friend always takes the animals back to rehome them. She is mailing this lady for months now and is very upset and desperate to know how one of her most loved babies is doing. 'A Dog (Cat) Is For Life' is exactly what we are thinking too, that is why I mailed doglost and asked for an advice on how we could find out whether this dog is still alive and well. And if Vita is not wanted anymore, we would like to look for a new family for her, that will never betray her. Vita is a fantastic, trusting and extremely kind and sensitive dog. We are very worried. Just how many " owners " do these poor animals have to have? They get moved on and chucked out like an old pair of shoes. Whatever happened to A Dog Is For Life?
Shelagh
I understand dog has been moved on and whereabouts unknown. If we can all look out for her,as she could be anywhere. I have contacted person who posted .
charlie and sooty
Do we know if rescue have been around to the address where dog was placed and enquired with neighbours. Do rescue normal change chip details to them, if so, why was this not done?

I presume that they are not responding to an email? The microchip is still stating Russia on a search so has not been logged in UK with petlog? Also Europetnet details still state Moscow Russia- so presume it was not changed to a rescue even before re-homing?
It is possible to do other searches to trace owners so has anything else been tried?Local vets to this postcode to see if registered the dog. Its surprising what can be found out if use the internet.
