Just to update Sue and Sue, Friday just gone 4 ladies and one man that included the lady who lives near where she first sighted the dog went out and walk all around the area they was out until 3am Saturday morning, but with no luck, they did talk to a man who said he as seen GSD roaming around, They left some food down Carolmid had noticed that someone had been putting down some bread and it was leading to some houses so they think someone else is also trying to catch him. Now the plan at the moment is the lady who first saw him was going to poster the area and also ask around she is also putting food down in an area they think the dog as been going to, She is also going to camp out to see if the dog is coming to get the food. If it is him then Carolmid and others will go down with a cage to try and get him, there is quite a few helpers on this, but at the moment we are letting the lady who lives by to do the feeding and when she knows for sure it is him will alert the other helpers to come down and help her, sorry we have not got better news but we feel it is only a matter of time. I have just seen a message from Vipdog, the lady who saw the GSD. Apparently she also went out again the next night and saw him again in a place called Courage Park, which is in the area that I searched. She is willing to go out again at night but would need someone to go with her. So this dog is still about and it seems he only comed out at night.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Bullets Owner, Yep it is a funny old site it also says you must not advertise other sights, and as you say we should work together anyway thanks for trying, it would not let me put in a ordinary web e-mail address, But I see Carlomid as left message anyway so lets hope the lady who first see him contacts her. Should be! No possiblility of sending a private message like here? Never go on there so no idea. Abrieviate doglost to DL or something? If posters were able to be put up, lets hope we won't need to be called by others and the call will come to us direct. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I have just seen your plea so I have tried to put a message on dogpages but it wont let me mention this site. it keeps altering what I am typing in. I am not at all happy with them, I was only trying to help. Why cant these sites work together, isn't that what its all about?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Carolmid That is the open space I saw on the map last night I told you about, It is a same I try to register on dogpages but it will not except hotmail or yahoo e-mail address not sure why I was going to ask the lady if she could post on doglost or at least contact one of us so we got a better idea of where she saw him, If any one can register with dogpages then maybe they could leave message for the lady to do this. Here is the link http://www.dogpages.org.uk/forums/Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just got back from Reading, we spent an hour searching around the area, but could not find him. The problem is that at the end of these houses is a vast area of open space, probably over 100 acres of marsh land type area. A river runs through this area. I asked dog walkers but no-one has seen or heard of a GSD on the loose. We spoke to a man whose house backs on to this area, and he has taken my telephone number and if he hears anything he will contact me. To be quite honest we didn't even know if we were searching in the right area, as the lady on dogpages didn't indicate which area he ran to. We searched the housing estate around St Saviurs Road right down to Heron Way this is where the vast open space is. Because the dog has been sighted again could someone contact the local newspaper and radio stations again? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for that doglady. From wher he went missing and where he was spotted is a long main road. Coley Park in itself is not a park but an area thats called coley park, it's surrounded by houses, main roads, railway stations etc. we are not looking for a dog in a parkLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Carolmid this was was put on The dog Rescue Page(www. dogpages.org.uk At 3am I found a German shepherd in Reading, in Berkeley Avenue. I was driving and noticed a completely disorientated german shepherd running around. I stopped and called the police because the dog warden is not available at that time of night. The police refused to come out for a dog and so i have been out for nearly and hour trying to catch the dog. However, each time I approach him, with the car or even walking, he just runs away. He is in the coley park area. He was wearing a collar and I am not sure of the gender. He seems quite young but not a puppy. If anyone has lost a dog matching the description or knows of anyone missing a german shepherd inform them that this dog is walking around coley park and I am worried for the dog's safety as the main road is very busy and I cannot catch himLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not much help in so far as exactly where in Coley Park Barb. Its a case of hoping he is seen again and getting posters up in that area if anyone able. Carolmid is going to try and spend some time looking, so may be able to get some up round there. I have the community hall address so will send out some posters to them to put up too. Any locals please help where you can in the Reading area. Thanks, Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

He had only been with Doggydoos (the rescue) for one month prior to rehoming. From my call yesterday with DD, during that month Caesar had been in one other home before going to this one.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Doggydoos is it possible to give our helpers a bit of a background on Caesar. Is there anything in particular he is timid of? I have had shepherds that have favoured women over men. As he is timid he may give the impression he is aggressive (a lot of timid dogs are misunderstood especially a GSD). How long has he been in rescue kennels over his life period, did you foster him at home, if so is it far from where he has gone missing? Are you in a position to get to areas depending on where he is sighted as you have already said he is attached to you? GSDs can be very much a one person dog. We are all rooting for this lovely boy to be found and picked up soon. Jan xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Caesar had only been in his new home for a couple of hours before scaling their garden fence. The rescue is in Bath, well away from this area and with no disrespect I am unsure whether Caesar would come to the new owner because of the lack of time they have had with him. It will need someone confident with GSDs, ideally one person to gain his trust over a period of time and try setting up a feeding pattern. If you would like more advice please contact any of the co-ordinators.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry I didnt get back to you yesterday. The number I wrote down was not recognised. I havent heard anything but have asked people to put posters up. I am very grateful for all your hard work & help. He is most likely to be trying to make his way back to me as he grew very attatched to me. He would never leave my side in the time I had him. I would have kept him if i didnt already have 5 dogs of my own. Please keep up the good work in helping to find him. Many many thanks to you all. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ceasar was rehomed wednesday evening after living at Doggy Doos, dog day care centre in Bath for a Month. When arriving at his new home he got scared & fled from the garden. He may be trying to come back home to Bath so could be any where. If Ceasar is sighted he is most likely to jump in an empty car or van. He is also more confident approaching people if you sit on the floor. He is not aggressive unless he feels intimidated he may bark a lot. Please help us find him. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
