Thanks for update Jenny, really was a true magnificent effort by Team Pink x
Its always interesting how a Dog is eventually caught as perhaps helps us all widen our repertoire/advice, however I will have to practice Lassoing as thats new to me LOL!
Glad Pink is having the TLC she so deserves xxxLast edited: 2016-02-18 08:38:52 by Reynard

This is such an amazing tale with amazing people ! Well done everybody! Lovely Pink is very lucky to have you all on her team :)
DogLostJenners - Area Volunteer, Gloucestershire
This was definitely a TEAM PINK effort, she has given everyone the runaround for weeks, but thanks to the perseverance of everyone it was a happy ending. It shows you that getting the posters out is the key, if people don't know a dog is missing, how would they know who to ring. Through postering and sightings we were able to keep up with her, today she was just very tired and although not the way I thought I would get her, lassoing with a slip lead worked, as Sue said, a skill I learned as a child with a hyperactive little brother LOL. Pink is doing well tonight, exhausted but safe and warm, and dosed up on medication to sort out a few ailments. Well done everyone, big medal for us all xx

Any news about a search area we can concentrate on? We have been looking round the Hares Bushes/cricket/rugby field areas, not knowing if it could be anywhere near where she was last seen.
DogLostReynard
Thank goodnes!
Goldenfarm
That is such welcome news...so she's still around. Good luck...she needs to eat. I'm in Cirencester and will keep alert.
Pipski Maripski
There has been a couple more sightings of Pink, she seems to not be travelling as much now.
There is going to be a feeding station, shelter and a camera set up very soon which will help massively if she plays ball.
Keep sharing her poster and Cirencester people keep your eyes open for her.
Thanks everyone
Pipski Maripski
Thank you, no that isn't Pink, she has a white flash horizontally across her nose. Still no news or sightings.
Mollychops
Thanks, but I doubt wether Pink would be sitting there in that calm manner if it were her

I have alerted owner to the found dog.

Has Pink been spotted since she was scared away yesterday ? I do hope she goes to someone soon poor lass must be totally stressed out.

Please check this dog ID 98170
Goldenfarm
Agreed, good suggestion. We don't want to put off good-hearted people who are looking for her.
DogLostReynard
This is such a shame, Pink I guess is also on Facebook & in the press so has caused a lot of interest from well meaning Dog lovers, how you curb the enthusiasm is difficult, Pink was also showing her self more just lately suggesting she is bolder & perhaps looking for food, however the advice from Mollychops is sensible , call with sightings so a more coordinated search can go ahead .
NB: Would this help if posted in above poster info ' VERY NERVOUS, PLEASE DO NOT APPROACH CALL NUMBERS LISTED WITH SIGHTING/LOCATION. '?Last edited: 2016-02-04 09:38:09 by Reynard
Spindle
Lovely that so many people care and want to help find Pink, but please listen to what Mollychops is saying. She has lots of experience. Best idea is if Pink is seen to just call the owner and be specific as to where the sighting is. Lots of people and even worse strange dogs will just scare this dog onto a road . Hope she is safe very soon.
Mollychops
At the sighting today on the Moore Allen Drive was a total fiasco .People turning up to help, shouting and blocking the road for work staff. I ask respectfully that whilst I appreciate all your kind efforts, the search be left to a few .What happened today drove Pink away from the area. Hopefully she will be seen soon locally . I feel bad , as I posted her sighting, but never expected the amount of people and dogs to suddenly descend on us . Please leave this to us , the quieter softly softly approach is always the best. People also need to be aware when helping to search for a missing dog , they have permission on each and every piece of land they cross. Last edited: 2016-02-03 21:51:05 by Mollychops

Pipski Maripski
Sorry for delay, multi-tasking in so many ways! Not successful with tracking as didn't have a definite spot to scent or article but definitely reckon she could have been following the Monarch Way footpath which also meets up with the MacMillan Footpath, if you go to http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=404282&y=208709&z=120&sv=calmsden&st=3&tl=Map+of+Calmsden,+Gloucestershire+[Town] and look for the red or green pathways with diamonds on them these would be a natural path she would travel. We are now starting to poster and these will be going up in Winson, Northleach, Shifton Oliffe, Chedworth and Withington, Calmsden, Rendcomb
Goldenfarm
Any news? Did Jenny and Tiga come yesterday as planned?

Thanks for update Pipski, perhaps Pink has moved on - hope her owners have left a door open for herLast edited: 2016-02-01 20:35:55 by Reynard

No news today so far, very quiet, I rang the house where the out house shed was at 10am and no she hadn't been back and food was untouched.
DogLostReynard
I suspect Pipski ,Pink has settled some what, she will have panic & run at first, then survival mode sets in, shes been fed so now feeling perhaps a little happier & will work her way back, unless she can be enticed to stay put ...fingers crossed x Last edited: 2016-02-01 08:56:03 by Reynard
Pipski Maripski
Fingers crossed then Reynard! I really do hope, she sounds a lovely girl, just nervous but intelligent and seemed to be quite happy when spotted sat in the field!
DogLostReynard
Blimey Pipski Maripsk your an absolute star , very well done , & Thanks to all thats helping her your all fab! :-)
Not wishing to contradict but dogs do go back even after a few moments in new home , this is often their only point of reference so maybe don't underestimate a dogs innate instincts ;)

It's so good to know she's still being sighted, and seemingly keeping fairly well. We just came back from driving round Calmsden and all the little lanes between there and Colesbourne, Rendcomb, Withington, Yanworth, Chedworth. Sadly we saw nothing. It's amazing what you have found out today Pipski....great work.
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
Well done Pipski - you have been an absolute star today. Glad that previous owners were able to join you and so glad she is looking well and dry.
Mollychops - do you want me to pass your number onto Pipski?
Mollychops
Call me via admin
Pipski Maripski
Old owners don't think she is heading to Colesbourne, they said by the time she got transported to Colesbourne and it was first time she's been there, it would have been dark and she bolted across the fields immediately so they don't think any chance of her homing back to there.

How to I add extra contact numbers and names to the above listing?
Pipski Maripski
Backfrom search today with Pinks last owners who know her, no signal even on mobile at points so sorry for delay in update, we found the house Rainbow Barn where she was spotted in the field at Calmsden, collected old owners who drove up from Somerset who we met and took them to that spot, on driving away we saw a shogun pulled over with three chaps stopped them told them about Pink, one was a game keeper, exchanged mobiles carried on, ten minutes later he rang to say dog had been in a stone shed in Calmsden out the back of a house on Friday morning, gave us directions to the cow sheds opposite which she had possibly bolted to, which we found using his directions, didn't know where the house was though. We searched cow sheds then decided to start knocking on doors of the houses, the first one we went to was only where the people llived that had seen her in their shed! I nearly kissed him! Lovely people showed us the stone shed and there was an old pad on the floor, he said he opened the back door and the stone shed door was bang opposite and was always open and she was curled up on the pad, then she bolted.
We have put Sadies coat there and a big bowl of stinky tripe and beef, then walked back to car at cowsheds and saw another gamekeeper, we were so lucky met people at the right time, asked him and he said yes we saw her yesterday! The hunt was out and she was sat in the field, dry, happy, looked well watching, quite happy! The huntsman asked whose dog it was, thats why they remembered her so clearly, they had no idea she was missing he apologised as he said he may have been able to catch her with help. So anyway owners walked to that spot with their lab to lay a scent then walked back to the house in Calmsden to the shed with the bed.
Jenny & Tiga is coming Tuesday, owners driving up again first thing Tuesday to meet her, they will get Tiga to get the scent from the bed and hopefully she will be able to track as there is so much open ground out there unless we get a sighting it's a needle in a haystack. That gamekeeper also took my number so will text them both tonight to keep in touch. Got number of shed out house people and they are happy for Jenny to go there Tuesday.
At least she is away from dual carriageway, it's open ground really rural with not many houses but met a whole group of hikers, they have my number and a walker who walks all the fields and he has the number too, said he knew she had gone missing, all incredibly helpful! Felt sorry for old owners but we did all we could today and were so lucky to get all that info. And it was so good for the gamekeeper to be able to tell us that she look well and dry! I feel it's positive, I so want to find her now.
DogLostReynard
Triangle points are often how a Dog will work her way back 'home' even if home was just for a couple of hours, shes looking for someone & something familiar (& food of course), so hopefully now you can get a head of her , good work by all involved ...xLast edited: 2016-01-31 09:14:29 by Reynard
Jot cotswolds
The Find Pink facebook page indicates a very positive sighting at Calmsden today for Pink meaning she headed north from Burford Rd area roughly parallel to the Stow Rd up to the Calmsden area...again this wld indicate she us gradually working a large triangle back towards Colesbourne possibly
Mollychops
Thanks Pipski for this you are doing an amazing job. I know the lady who has this yard and will contact her
Pipski Maripski
She was spotted last night in a field with horses behind the Texaco Garage, at the end of Gloucester Street, the lady feeding her horses saw her. Too dark to do anything though. Handed out flyers in Cirencester Park and drove through Daglingworth, Sapperton, Winstone and walked at Winstone and nothing sighted, no-one has seen her. Probably lying low until dusk.

DogLostReynard
Yes best to have One person feeding Pink same clothes same time etc if possible , is previous owner and her Dog coming ? Pink no doubt will not respond to strangers at first, the more well meaning people that try to catch her may only spook her .
A Trap would be helpful but that has to be right also ...hopefully your Tracker and Mollychops can advise Last edited: 2016-01-29 17:51:40 by Reynard
Pipski Maripski
A dog tracker is going to help, we are organising the lady who fed PINK this morning to put out more food in the bowl on top of a blanket so that the dog tracker would have a scent to follow. Incredible what these dogs can do.
Unknown
could you not start a feeding station there and get a trap? the trouble with the net is if you miss you may scare her out of the area
Pipski Maripski
The couple that tried to catch her said she had spent the night in the playground grass area and that is where she had the bowl of food so could be a possible area she comes back to, I know it's only a slim chance but you never know.
Pipski Maripski
This morning we searched the fields and woods for a good couple of hours behind the Burford allotments but couldn't find her where she was spotted. She spent the night in the grass playground just across the Burford Road which is just off the A417, then got through the fence crossed the busy road and went through the allotments. She could be headed in any direction so please mention to all dog walkers you meet so we can get another sighting.

A lady we met is a sister to a policeman so he has raised the alarm too, they managed to feed her a bowl of food at least but only when they stepped back from the bowl and moved right away, they just couldn't catch her. She said her limp wasn’t too bad, they couldn’t catch her at all she was too nervous. I think a suggestion would be to buy some sort of cargo net to throw over her if the owner gets close, that she gets caught up in, I don’t think she will come to anyone. We discussed it out searching a lost dog will not usually come to its owner let alone a new owner because it is so confused and in survival mode. I would suggest silent searching rather than using whistles and maybe a good old stinky BBQ lit in the play area she spent the night, and maybe anything of hers that has her smell on it from her previous home, she may hang around that area and come back to the grass play area as there were lots of places to hide that were out of the rain. Also need laminated posters up in that area, explaining she had been spotted there and searched for. Hope this helps
DogLostReynard
If Everyone could relax, you will maybe see Pink coming back, so suggest a stake out with perhaps a BBQ but certainly leaving small amounts of tasty food & happy voices, also with the calming effect of the other dog, Pink will probably stop panicking ... .....Mollychops will of course know all this x Last edited: 2016-01-29 13:07:37 by Reynard

Good luck, thinking about Pink all week. Hope she is caught today.

Just got back from searching the Hare bushes, at one point we were about 10 mins behind her. Lots of people still out there, just need more sightings as its gone a bit quiet. The Abbey Estate are aware, as their land.

Poor Pink must be frightened and disoriented with so much sudden change in her life. I hope she is found safe and can be kept with the dog she knows?
Mollychops
Thanks everyone, fabulous effort.Pinks previous owner is coming up with a dog that Pink knows and likes. Fingers crossed for some sightings tomorrow.I will ask owner to alert the Bathurst Estate, in case she moves further on this way towards Cirencester
Tilly
I drive these back roads going to work, looked out for her this evening :-( will keep my eyes peeled in the morning! Poor girl hope she's found soon
ajv
She doesn't know the area, she was living in Sussex and recently moved to Hampshire then Sunday night when she was rehomed she pushed car door as getting out and bolted. So she honestly has no idea whatsoever :(
ajv
I was going down A417 at 1pm is when she was running towards Cirencester, got out and crossed dual carriageway running to follow her but she was bolting it and we lost sight when at daglingworth junction, police said she got back on A417 then turned around and come back down slip road to daglingworth junction which made me think she probably would've stayed left and gone towards Stratton or daglingworth but obviously anything is possible so both them areas were searched plus Duntisborne's, winstone, miserden, white way, perrotts brook, bagendon, rendcomb, north cerney, woodmancote until dark. Poor girl :(
Hollieberry
I do hope Pink stays off the road, does she know the area that she is lost in ?
DogLostReynard
Good news , but she is on the move & seems to be heading towards Cirencester following A417 !

Fingers crossed, come on Pink ,you need to be safe x
KayThompson
PINK has been sighted around the A417 Daglingworth exit. ajv has sighted her about an hour ago and followed her down the slip road then lost her.
DogLostReynard
So PINK is heading toward Cirencester ? - following vaguely the A417, she may move on to Duntisbourne Abbots or if she is moving in a 'triangle route' then towards Woodmancote area, crossing the A417 again :( unless her original home is near-ish??
Mollychops
Sighting approx. 11 am at Winstone. Ran from a lady who tried to catch her. This is right next to a very busy road so please do not attempt to catch Pink Please just ring owners number if seen ,she will come out with some food and quietly lure her in hopefully Owner has people out there now searching

Hi, my daughter thinks she may have seen this dog when she was on the school bus coming home from Cirencester to Birdlip this afternoon about 4pm. The bus takes the country lanes from Cirencester. The dog was in the road and looked quite scared, my daughter thought she would see the owner but the dog went quite a way with no owner in sight and then ran into a field. My daughter is not sure exactly whereabouts this was, she thinks it could have been around the Duntisbourne Abbots area. The bus driver may be able to give more info as he had to slow down for the dog. The bus is run by Alex Cars in Cirencester. I think the driver may be called Mark.
