Update from Mick

Well it's been a long time coming but until now it couldn't be made public due to the pending court case which has now been completed.

This is the vile piece of filth who you may recall telephoned me on at least four occasions demanding a ransom for Sky's return but something just wasn't right as he refused to provide evidence that he did in fact have her. Fortunately I recorded at least two of the calls and these were subsequently passed on to both West Yorkshire Police and the media.

Sadly this oxygen thief also targeted many other owners who were also desperate and vulnerable and unfortunately some even fell for his bullshit and transferred large sums of money believing it would facilitate the return of their babies.

What he didn't know was work was already underway to track the bastard with several owners including myself working closely with One Big Bark, DogLost, banks and various police forces to ascertain his true identity and whereabouts. A lot of people did an awful lot of work to bring this scumbag down and without them it would never have happened.

27 months isn't nearly enough for the pain and torment you put us through but it sends a clear message that dog owners and lovers across the country won't stand by and take it anymore we will fight back and karma will get you even if we don't.

I for one hope you have the worst 27 months of your miserable life you piece of sh** one day we will meet I promise you

Mick, a girl has been picked up as a stray that may be worth a look - from her photos and yours of Sky it may be worth checking into - she's in Dumfries. No chip, but that could have been removed I guess.

A Rottweiler has been posted on the Leigh Cats and Dog Home site today. No details on age, sex, etc. http://www.leighdogsandcatshome.co.uk/lost-dog-information/stray-dog-procedures/ Looks chunkier than Sky, but then Sky is nearly a year older than her photo.

Thank you so much to everyone actively looking for Sky she's still out there somewhere unfortunately but I won't give up not now or ever!

We have 9 simultaneous banner days taking place this Saturday 17th September all over the country to promote Sky still further and of course other lost / stolen dogs. If any of you live near to one of the events it would be great to see you so I've listed the locations below for your info:

Eloquent words from Mick Robinson, Sky's owner, crossposted from PAW-Helping Dogs in Need-

"** DAY 178 SATURDAY 28TH MAY 2016 **

Another Bank Holiday is here and like so many others it's spent sat in front of the laptop phones beside me searching, checking and praying that the breakthrough will come sooner rather than later. Our lives on hold while we rack our brains trying to think of what to try next.

I wonder if these 'people' have any comprehension of the torment their actions put us through and for what? It can't just be money as the rewards offered to get our babies back far outweigh what it would cost to go and buy another one but it's not another one we want it's the family member you stole from us that matters so therefore it's personal.

How would you feel if I came and took your two year old daughter away and held her for six months with no word of whether she was alive - what state of mind do you think you'd be in? That's what you're doing to us as owners. Sky is as much a daughter to me as if she was my own flesh and blood and there is nothing and I do mean nothing that I wouldn't do to get her back so if you have any decency whatsoever just let her go, tie her up and make an anonymous call or bring her home and make me a very very happy man OR you could continue to push your luck and drag out this nightmare for a while longer and run the risk that we will find you and rest assured WE WILL FIND YOU sooner or later."

I hope you find her soon Mick.

Sky has a new Thunderclap-

Baydogs
Ah, glad Tara is settling in so well.

Just another idea- and you may have already done this - would it be possible to mail all licensees around the country with Sky's details? The business you are in has a good social network I believe.
Mick
Thanks Baydogs it's all I do everything else is just 'background noise' nothing else matters until I have her home safe and Tara is loving her new life you'd think she had been here forever

Have to hand it to you Mick, you are doing everything possible to find your girl. Too far away to help but wishing you success - and soon.

Skys owner Mick travelled to investigate reports of a stray Rottweiller some distance away in Washington and tracked down her owners who no longer wanted her and he has very kindly now adopted 'Tara ' himself and is hoping that Sky will be found soon and be able to meet Tara her new family member .
In view of Micks act of kindness in helping another dog whilst searching for his beloved Sky and also because Sky missed her turn at being bumped up for media coverage in the Pontefract and Casteford Express on the 17th December i am bumping her page today. !
I hope the new year will bring news of Sky and that she will soon be back with her family and able to meet Tara

Sky is a friendly and trusting dog and was stolen from her secure enclosure after the thieves broke the lock open but left owners other dog behind and shut the enclosure again.
The police are investigating this planned theft and have issued a crime reference number.
Sky's owners have had her flagged up as stolen on the microchip system and have informed and checked with local holding kennels and the dog warden.
I have advised them to get some coverage in local newspapers and they are going to poster poster poster to make Sky TOO HOT TO HANDLE !

  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN).
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please call our helpline on 01633 668 364. Lines are open seven days a week 08:00-20:00.
