Hoping some day Brinn will appear but last year another dog went missing in same circumstances, it was found stuck down a hole so almost certain he's gone, not a day goes by that we don't think of him just hope someone has him and looking after him as he was a brilliant little dog who just loved life
Brinnspost
Seeks did you get your ESS back? It's very hard they really are part of the family
Brinnspost
Thanks Hollieberry its great to see people still following Brinn and I really hope we can all have a happy ending. We really feel he fell in a hole and we must have missed it whilst searching, really hope we are wrong, on the plus side we have advised other people in similar circumstances to get back out and search for holes and two dogs have been found after our advice where the owners had thought the dogs had just ran off. Whilst Brinn is still missing we'll keep on hopingLast edited: 2016-07-31 21:11:16 by Brinnspost

I really hope you get news of Brinn one day . Never give up on hope x
Brinnspost
Really hope so but not looking good,Brinn had really bad mange that needed regular medication so would have had to visit the vets and hopefully they would scan him. Eleven months tomorrow that he went missing and he's such a miss. Thanks for the support
Seeks
I am sure he is still out there and will be scanned and found in time...

I know how hard it is though as our own ESS baby was stolen 16/11/13

You hang in there and will run your boy some tweets xx

5 months today since Brinn disappeared, wish we knew what has happened to him, he's a big miss. Not one sighting since he disappeared, hope he is safe and getting looked after but fear he has gone for good, such a shame, he will never be forgotten
Brinnspost
We live in hope he was found and is getting looked after and someday he'll be reunited with his dad, he was an amazing dog always happy and full of energy and loved life

Don't give up hope completely, amazing things can and do happen, but understand your despair. He looks such a lovely boy x

Been a tough Xmas without Brinn, unfortunately looks like he's gone, still hoping someone had found him but knowing the area sure he'd have been back by now, thanks to everyone thinking of him and can only hope he turns up safe, he's missed so muchLast edited: 2016-01-08 22:30:22 by Brinnspost

11 weeks today I was enroute to Scotland to help look for Brinn, unfortunately not one sighting of him since going missing. It's still possible someone has taken him and kept him or sold him on. Please share to see if he can be found. Thanks
Brinnspost
Unfortunately still no sign of Brinn, hopefully someone has him and is looking after him and some day he'll be reunited with us. He's a big miss
Brinnspost
Come on Brinn, 5 year old is to young to go, stay warm tonight and show yourself tomorrow
Brinnspost
Thanks Gill, would be great to get little Brinn back, Jamie and his work colleagues are keeping a look out for him around Mount Keen and Invermark, really hope he is found soon
Gill
Hello! I have forwarded the doglost link to a few hillwalking groups in my area, just incase any groups/members are planning walks to/around Mount Keen area from any direction and hope they spread the word amongst themselves. Anything is worth a try and still hoping Brinn will be found, don't give up.
Brinnspost
Another week over with no sightings, temperatures dropping in the area, really hard to stay positive but until we know otherwise we'll keep hoping he returns safe soon.

Hi, we won't give up looking and hoping he returns until we find him one way or another, he is on loads of fb pages and I constantly update them to keep him on peoples minds, the area he went missing in has holes under the heather so there is a concern he fell into one, the plus side is it has been searched about 9 times by his owner, other people and dogs including terriers but no sign of him. We have had a drone fly the area 3 days after he went missing. Hopefully he is around and people in the area keep an eye out for him, he is a big missLast edited: 2015-10-06 19:09:52 by Brinnspost

Have you shared him on FB pages such as Lostbox, Red Alert, Harveys Army Scotland? Is there anywhere he could be trapped? Would a drone help?Last edited: 2015-10-06 16:06:29 by Skywalker99

Never give up looking for him he is out there somewhere x

5 weeks today Brinn disappeared on Mount Keen Invermark, no sightings since and after numerous searches in the immediate area he has not been found. It's possible he ran off and is either still in the surrounding areas although he could have travelled quite a number of miles by now or he could have been found and kept or sold on. Please look out for him and share his poster to see if we can find him
Brinnspost
Still no signs of Brinn, weather is not good so if Brinn is around he'll be looking for shelter, could anyone in the areas around Invermark keep an eye out for any place he could shelter and have a look for him, especially early on, thanks
Brinnspost
Now over a month since Brinn went missing with no sightings as yet, we'll keep on looking and hoping but it's not looking good
Brinnspost
Hi Gill thanks for that! I'm not familiar with the area so not sure what tracks go where. I have informed Glen Tanar estate and they have asked their keepers to keep and eye out for Brinn. I know Ballater have an event on this weekend with campsite and bbqs so hopefully if he's over that way he may be seen. Thanks for your help
Gill
Hello! I'm in the Ballater area and have put up a couple of posters at the start of the Mount Keen track, Glenmuick side. This track is frequented by mountain bikers heading over to Glen Tanar via Mount Keen and also hikers. I also mentioned to fellow hill walkers and emailed Glenmuick Estate (you may have done so already), so they can advise keepers who are currently out on the hills grouse beating/deer stalking. I really hope Brinn is found soon.
Brinnspost
Hi Max, firstly we appreciate all you have done looking for Brinn, we are lost as to what has happened to him, after 3 weeks and no sightings it is not good but we live in hope he shows up, he may well have fallen into a hole up on the hill but after so many searches involving people and dogs and not finding him you would think not, if he ran off the only way down is that valley or down by the road but again no sightings (reported) with posters up that will hopefully change. I doubt Brinn would try and cross a river/burn but to survive he'd need to shelter, not sure if there's any trees around the area, I can't remember from when I went up searching for him. I contacted Jamie today and he has checked the area but hopefully if Brinn is around he may travel in the right direction and get down to queens well area, I have also reminded Ballater site today as they have an event on over the weekend, hopefully campers will have bbqs on and the smell may attract him if he's over there. Once again thanks, it means a lot to us and Brinn
I am not sure how Brinn would be today, he's usually very friendly and would come to call of his name or if he saw you but been lost and possibly scared he may have gone feral and be hiding

Max
Walked Queens Well area again, just managed to cross Easter Burn and followed Water of Mark a little way into valley, unfortunately no sighting. Am not a walker and do not know the area well but looking at an OS map it looks as though if Brinn were in that valley unless he climbed up and over the hills and they are incredibly rocky, or went back up the track to Mount Keen, then the only other way from there would be getting over the burns And passed Queens Well. I know it is only one tiny area where he could be was just hoping I would get lucky.
I have put posters at Invermark/Loch Lee car park, Tarfside and Edzell which is where I stay.
Brinnspost
Thanks Max that's interesting about posters I was under impression that they were up, thanks for putting some out. I'm not familiar with the area but I think Brinn would come down mount keen and into valley and be between mountain and river, if he got down the mountain side would he be trapped down there?
3labs I'll look into putting reward on listing, I didn't do original post so I'll have took contact admin. Thanks
3labs
Would it help to put that there is a reward on his poster and on his listing here? Not everybody reads all the posts below. I'm in London so no practical help whatsoever but would love to see Brinn back home.
Max
Will go back around Queens Well area again. Couldn't get over Easter Burn yesterday, where the track starts to climb towards Mount Keen. From what I could see, If Brinn was on that side of the Burn he would not have been able to cross the burn whilst in spate and not sure how else he would be able to get out of that valley. I will go back to this area tomorrow in hope that the burn is lower. I will take a couple of posters and leave at Tarfside (toilets seem good idea) and also Invermark car park. There doesn't seem to be any posters for Brinn at all in this area.
Brinnspost
Brinn will need shelter so any outbuildings, walls, trees would be worth looking around, thanks
I have put a reward for Brinns safe returnLast edited: 2015-09-24 10:40:35 by Brinnspost
Brinnspost
Hi we appreciate any help at all we can get, Brinn lived just near loch Lee so I think if he got to there he'd get home, there a hill between loch Lee and mount keen and I think he's most likely headed down into the valley between but I don't know if there's any paths through it, he could be moving around daily, from what I've been told most likely early on, just a presence anywhere really around the bottom of the hill where the road up mount keen starts if its near for you, not sure how far it is from car park, but especially if you see any body mention that he's missing particularly walkers/hill climbers if they are heading up mount keen the road splits at the top and if they go straight ahead rather than taking the right hand track, Brinn went missing at the end of that track ,right hand side, think theres a better explanation in post below, so if any walkers could search that area and any holes for him, it has been searched a lot of times that's why I think he's ran off, most likely chased a hare and that's why I think he'll have ended up in that valley. If it's too late and he hasn't made it if at least we know what's happened to him it would give closier. Again thanks for been out and if you can again great but only if you are comfortable with it.
Max
Today I have walked from the car park at Invermark upto The Queens Well, I spent a couple of hours around that area without success. There was no one else out there this afternoon. A couple of days ago I walked from the same car park down to Loch Lee and along the right hand side of the Loch. I am not really a 'walker' hence the reason for preferring group search. I am happy to do these walks again on my own if it's thought It might be useful.

Thanks for getting back.
Brinnspost
Hi Max thanks for looking for Brinn, have you seen many people out in the area? I'm not sure on searches it depends on what Jamie,Brinns owner is working but I'll have a word with him, I think Brinns most likely headed down the hill towards the back of Invermark lodges, other side of river to the left of Easter burn. Have you been around that area? I know Jamie has been around cottage of Mark and bottom of Glen, another couple have been around I think it's called Bourne of doune? He could literally be anywhere at the moment, as long as he can get shelter he should be OK as he'll eat anything, once again thanks
Max
Sorry no sign of Brinn. Are you planning further searches. I have spent some time looking around the Loch Lee, Invermark area, but would rather search with a group.
Brinnspost
Sadly 3 weeks today Brinn disappeared, there has been no sightings of Brinn since he disappeared even after extensive searches. Giving the length of time he has been missing and the environment he went missing in and his lean build our best chance is that someone has found him and decided to keep him, not realising he is lost, we will keep updating social media and keep posters in the area and will keep hoping he shows very soon, if anyone does live in the area can you please check any outbuildings or other areas he could find shelter to keep dry and warm. I will update if and when we have any news, good or bad, thanks for all your interest in BrinnLast edited: 2015-09-22 16:56:56 by Brinnspost

A small black and white cocker type dog was spotted last wk. at Dalbreck, Glen Esk, it was posted on Lost Dogs Scotland Facebook page for Annie who has since been found. Could this have been Brinn?
Brinnspost
No reports of any sightings today, owner has been around Glen and around cottage of Mark. Brinn could be anywhere, Glen Tanar, Invermark, Edzell, Balmoral, Ballater and any surrounding areas, please keep a look out for him if you are around those areas
Brinnspost
Been nearly 3 weeks since Brinn went missing and so far there has been no sightings. Hopefully plenty of people will be out today and Sunday as weather looking good, Brinn needs to be found very soon. Hopefully if someone has found him he will be returned asap, Brinn has a nasty skin condition and needs regular veterinary treatment.Last edited: 2015-09-19 12:18:31 by Brinnspost

Initial area where Brinn went missing searched again Monday. Still no sightings to date, search to concentrate on lower ground and any places Brinn could be sheltering, weather is still favourable so hopefully he'll be doing fine until he is found
Brinnspost
Thank you to everyone involved with searching for Brinn including anyone highlighting that he is missing. Unfortunately there have been no sightings since he went missing, we will keep checking daily but if anyone out walking etc in the area could please keep a look out for him. He could turn up anywhere, Ballater, Edzell, Glen Tanar, Balmoral. Thanks

Hope he is found soon. All xd.

some fabulous people have been out searching again today, Tony has provided his update to the area covered today:
wcovered good ground after following the water of mark up the burn of doune, uncharted territory for sure. We covered a huge area of peat hags also. What was comforting is Tony was asked by other people if he'd seen a black and white cocker spaniel which proves the message is out there.
Tony also thinks that Brinn has a chance of being out there and just lost as the peat bogs are drying up. The worry is that he's fallen into a hole/crevice that is covered by heather, so the search continues.

Hi Billibob thank you for that post, I think that it is on lost and found Ireland its unlikely but thank you so much for pointing it out - you never do know.

update about Brinn. There is a meet Saturday 5th Sept to continue looking for him:

Meeting at DD9 7YZ, Please anyone who is able keep your eyes peeled. Please have treats with you and if possible a slip lead as he doesn't have a collar on. Update from Jamie (owner)

Hi everyone, had a good group out today looking and we covered a good chunk of ground very thoroughly, so thoroughly I don't think he can be in a hole on that area, the area is everything in front of the line of butts that head from the end of the road at Finn saac up towards mount keen, and from the butts down to the burn of doune.
So if people are out and about in the area there is a good chance he could have made his way down into glen mark or across into glen tanar or glen muick so it would be appreciated if people are walking in the area maybe just try shouting, make a bit of noise or just being a presence in the area and he may find you!!
Jamie & Brinn's extended family appreciate any help, however small, which people in the area can offer. We have to hope this little boy is found. He is so dedicated to Jamie that he will be frantic to have lost him so if he's not in the near area where he was lost he could be running scared. Thank you in advance.
JulieH
Good luck x
