We do have some very good Dog Wardens out there, but sadly, I second GillyP's words in this instance. Find out if your area is covered by SDK - this means the dog warden service is contracted out by the council. So, as the council holds their contract, if you are in an SDK area it may be worth speaking/complaining to the council about this. In other words, the council employs these people to act on their behalf. Ultimately, if it's a bad service, or too many dogs being PTS, or owners not being notified, dogs being returned with injuries, the council should be responsible for the termination of the contract. The way I see it, SDK would have breached the contract so it can and should be terminated. But, the councils employing them will need evidence, so anyone with concerns will need to come forward and approach your local council. It will also take time to find a replacement service. And, if you are in an SDK area, you may need to be especially vigilent, but as said, we still do have many great DWs out there.

Bonnies' Mum, SDK as employed by Councils to pick up dogs. SDK obviously have to make money hence the extortionate fees. Councils wouldn't charge so much (.ie if they had their own dog wardens) but as SDK have to make money fees are sky high. SDK also offer pest control etc. Average for SDK just to pick up a dog in say Redbridge is £100.00 and daily fees can range from £17-20. It has been found that SDK do not always call the owners if there is found to be chip or tag with a number straight away, as again they can earn money from having them overnight!. Not all SDK areas operate the same but they still are questionable about their code of conduct! Lets hope that as Gordon was in the local news that other owners that may have had the pleasure of coming across SDK in their area come forward and complain. Fingers crossed.Last edited: 2015-09-06 11:03:34
Bonnies' mum
Who are SDK? Are they working on behalf of a council? Can't something be done about them? I'm not particularly internet savvy but surely some sort of petition could be started to state a vote of no confidence in them.

SDK don't you just love them!! Hopefully this might prompt others in the area that Gordon went missing in and who may have also had dealings with SDK to come forward and stop the way this company operates! I wonder now how they will receive me on the phone now this has come to light!!

Copied post:- "Last week my French bulldog went missing from Worley Road in St Albans. The neighbours picked him up and called the warden...after checking his chip, it seems that the microchip was accidentally swapped with another person that had bought one of the litter.. Still with me?? So MY dog was taken to this lady and her boyfriend and she signed for him!!! After it was established that the dog is in fact mine, the council called her and she denied even seeing a warden!! This Thursday her and her boyfriend were arrested and unsurprisingly they both denied the accusations and obviously Gordon was no where to be seen. They have both been bailed so now I need social medias help!

If you have been offered or have unwitting bought him or no someone that has recently got a 1 year old French bulldog please can you let me know, I will obviously give you what you paid for him and I will reward you too!

I'm missing my baby like crazy and so is my family which includes two young kids.

Gordon is 1, he is castrated and has two lines of white on the top of his head.

Crime number: F1/15/2879".
