DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
YES! CCTV FOOTAGE... like it! Please keep Clarkey updated...and we can pass onto our police co-ordinator to move forward with...we cannot let these people get away with stealing our dogs...AND I AM GOING TO SAY IT AGAIN!....doglost was started after my French Bulldog was stolen....
Micky0692
The discription was similar to her. Only the age was different. She was mid 20's not 30's. I'm just waiting on a phone call as think she has been caught on cctv on Tuesday when he dissapeared

Wonderful reunited photo xxxx

Nice one - LOL!!! Can't help but wonder... did the description of Willis' 'finder' fit the same description as the lady in her mid 30s with long brown hair seen heading towards Sidley with Willis? Hope poor Willis is now over his ordeal and you are all enjoying a lovely, sunny weekend.Last edited: 2015-08-01 15:45:50 by Millys Mum

At least then they would have her address lol

Gosh thank you Clarkey...actually a friend of Willis' s owner has helped me in the past when my George went missing, that's what community is all about isn't it...pulling together in times of need. I know you can't think straight when your pet is missing.
Great work all round here...Thank you DogLost x

Reunited photo now on and the smiles say it all! (You may have to refresh the page a couple of times to see it)

I want to say a huge thank you to Jo E Nye and all the Sidley/Bexhill community who pulled all the stops out to share, search and poster their area. Jo E Nye was out there until all hours making sure that posters were put up and she deserves special thanks for her support to the family. Thanks to all of you who got the word got out quickly that Willis was missing. A fantastic job done and a great result! Well done to you all! :)

The Police are aware of what has happened as Willis owners had reported that he was stolen as soon as he went missing. CRN number is in info above.

Great. Welcome home dear Willis - stay very safe now. There are some really horrible people around xxx

I am so pleased Willis has be found and he is safe with you, hope he is ok after missing his medication.
Fair enough to hand out reward but so wrong to ask for more , please make sure you keep him safe just incase she got him from your garden... welcome home Little Man xxx
Micky0692
Thank you for all your lovely comment. And to all you ppl who shared. I'm sure this made him to hit to handle. Wish I could put a reunion pic up but can't seem to. Wonder if jo could do the honours if she sees this as she took one and thank you for all your effort with posters etc
BMdevon
If the finder has a Facebook account I suggest someone goes and looks at it and susses out if a) she has kids and b) has a photo that would confirm her ID. Sounds a bit dim to me to be texting after the event for more money, but the Police can deal with 'dim-inals' as well as criminals.

Just recently and I can't remember which court....Someone was arrested over theft by finding.....They were found guilty...

I think we with lost babies are vulnerable to pay what ever it takes but that woman deserves to be arrested!! Its been done once and you have every right to push for that.

I am glad you got your baby home but appauled at that woman... xx

I am sjure that the best reward for us who follow DogLost is the smile on the owners face as they are reunited with their petsLast edited: 2015-07-31 14:09:45

As the "thief" has been texting asking for more money..Her number should be handed to the Police and they can trace her..The mere fact she is asking for more money proves she had Willis to make a profit..She may go round stealing dogs with the purpose of obtaining the money..by deception..She definitely needs a visit from the Police!!!

I am so glad that Willis is home. (my namesake) What a dreadful woman. Some people are only motivated by greed and she certainly fits the category. Stay safe now Willis with people who love you.
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
Delighted Willis is now home - very saddened at the actions of this person as others have said a genuine person would have just been happy to reunite Willis with his family. Julie

However, if you are going to offer a reward for the safe return of your dog then you must be prepared to pay it.....you just have to hope a selfless person brings it back. There is a bit of a catch 22 here...as long as people take their dogs back 'no questions asked' then people will take them and wait for the posters to go up offering a reward. However, I do think all details the owners have on this woman should be passed to doglost and the police as it is very suspicious that Willis was seen with someone not long after going missing but the finder allegedly 'found' him that morning.

This woman who is posui ng as a human being should hand ber head in shame; she has broke n the law ny not reporting a lost dog. As for the children loving him, you jjust cant go around keeping other peoples pets. Welcome home Willis. so pleased you are back with your RIGHTFUL owners. Stay close now Willis:-) PS Look forward to a reunited pic.Last edited: 2015-07-31 07:53:54

So pleased that Willis is back home where he belongs, well done everyone,, but so saddened that this lady took money from you, any decent person would not have accepted money to reunite a dog with its family ... please do pass all info you have of this lady onto the police, she broke the law by not informing dog wardens, and could do this again ... x
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Where did you meet her..was she on foot? do let the police know as they have cameras everywhere...also increase your security as she may well be the person who took your dog and will know where you live and that you are prepared to give her money for your dog...which of course we all would...also we need as much info on her as possible as she will do this again....please pass these details on to Clarkey.
Bo
Delighted he's home - yes they're some odd folk around but... It's only money.
Millys Mum
So, SO happy that Willis is finally back home, safe and sound. His poor owners must have been frantic with worry. And as for the lowlife who stole him to await a increased reward, like others are saying, she really ought to be ashamed of herself although, from what has been reported, I very much doubt it because clearly she has no conscience or morals and I also hope she gets her comeuppance 100 fold! I think she should be tracked down (sounds as though she lives locally) and kept an eye on. When located, her whereabouts and unforgivable behaviour should be reported to the police for future reference as likely to be a serial offender. Poor Willis having to spend time with such an unpleasant 'person'. So glad he's now back with his caring and loving family.
DogLostSpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
You are kidding!! This woman took the dog home, did not report the finding, waiting until there was a larger reward and then accepted a reward? Well on the one hand, thank goodness the dog is safely home, but agree TOTAL SHAME ON YOU LADY for wanting the money. Any real dog lover and human being would just be pleased to put a family out of their nightmare and get pleasure from helping them, not waiting until you see a nice fat reward and then asking for more. KARMA is a good thing. One day you may need help, let's hope you are prepared to pay for it.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Very pleased that Willis is home but not happy about how he was returned.
This is what his owner said on Fbk:
"Ok so we had a text at 8 pm saying she had our dog we arranged to meet her she then mentioned the reward we told her £250 she said oh I thought it was £500 ( amount of reward only on Facebook not on posters ) so my partner met her near our house she said she found him on Sidley bridge this morning but then went to work in London and only saw posters when she got home- then said her kids loved him but she told them he had to go home! My partner asked if she wanted the reward she said well I don't mind! He gave her £200 and she scuttled off and has since been texting asking for rest!"

If that woman is reading this then hear me .. you broke the law by not reporting finding Willis. You made his owners go through an awful ordeal and also made Willis go without his medication for longer than necessary. SHAME ON YOU!
Alison
I'm so happy and relieved you got willis back. I was constantly scanning the streets in my van for him.
Thank god you found him

Good to see Willis is home safe :))

Thanks Micky0692 I have added that so it appears on the poster.
Thanks TK and Jo E Nye for the updates and information.

I know that it is thought that Willis has been stolen, but I think it is really important that you do not assume this is the case.
Please make sure that you search in gardens near you, in garages and sheds and anywhere that Willis could have got into and been unable to get out of again. Check the places that you would normally walk him in case he has gone there and is hiding.
I am just not sure that Willis has been stolen as we have never had any dogs stolen in Bexhill before. I could be wrong but it is so important to cover all possibilities.

Also please would you use Doglost posters.
We encourage this because if someone sees them and then later sees Willis or remembers seeing him they will not always remember tel numbers on the photo posters you have put up. If the poster is a Doglost one most people check online to see Willis page. As you have done such a great job putting them up Jo E Nye then maybe put a Doglost one near to some of these! If you put a Doglost poster on the fencing by the link road entrance I am sure the workmen will take note of it. They are very helpful usually. Thanks for helping the owners and thanks also to Georgia-s for printing them.
.. and you are right, if someone has had Willis and lets him go then we need to make sure that searchs are still carried out.

TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
According to fb there has been a possible sighting in De Cham Rd area of St Leonards.....
Can owner please confirm and if there is any more details of this possible sighting ....
Lots of fb shares and posters which is great ...
Jo E Nye
Was out til midnight again last night...will be handing doglost posters out while out and about today (Georgia-s thank you for printing this lot!)
Has anyone local had a chat with the men working on the link road from the BP bridge up? Just incase Willis wandered...just thinking of every possibility even if someone let him go and he's lost can we get permission to walk up there and search??

Thanks for your update Micky0692. I will forward the emails I have sent to you as well.
You need to make Willis TOO HOT TO HANDLE. Best way to do this is what you are already doing ny postering. Well done and many thanks to Jo for helping the family with this and getting the word out so quickly.
Great to hear Tweets are going around too. I will request Doglost Tweets go out too.
Riverlady would you send our Doglost Tweets out please!

Thanks also to everyone for your help. Much appreciated .. I am without my mobile at the mo as managed to drop it in my drink!
I have sent our Doglost email advice out and said to poster, poster and poster some more. That will help to bring in sightings.

It seems that someone has taken Willis in and has not reported finding him. It's possible that they are not aware that they need to do this. I hope this is what has happened and that they will realise they have done the wrong thing.

>>> If this is the case and the person who has Willis is reading this then all his owner wants is to get him home. NO QUESTIONS will be asked and no police action would be taken .. so please return Willis to his rightful owner as soon as possible. He needs the medication that he is on as he will be in pain without it.
Just do the right thing before you get into trouble.
Remember that it is required by law to report finding a dog to the Dog Wardens and/or the Police. If you were not aware of this then fair enough, but you do need to rectify the situation and quickly please <<<

If anyone knows who has Willis please call Doglost in TOTAL CONFIDENCE on 0844 800 3220

Really need to get Willis home and fast please.

Went to bexhill early for an appointment, drove down holliers hill, through to sidley, Turkey rd etc no sign but posters are evident. If someone has Willis neighbours need to do the right thing and alert the authorities in confidence. Massive following on Facebook etc which is keeping him highly profiled, really hope for a sighting or good news soon
TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
Sorry to hear no news as yet ....
I am sure you have already done the following, but just in case you haven't,
please inform Dog Warden, police, local vets, microchip company and check they have the correct conract numbers,
Barbie Keel, check with sll neighbours and ask them to check back gardens, sheds, garages etc..
posters really do work, if you can print off and put up all over local area that would be great..
lots and lots of fb shares amongst various groups etc which is really good ...
fingers crossed fir some good news soon x

Now all over Twitter! Hoping someone will bring him forward! Spoke to Jo earlier, she said she'd keep me informed but I'm more than happy to come over to you if you want any help! Just let me know or get Jo to text me Micky0692.

We are now thinking the sighting was a false alarm as had a better discription and think it was Ruth's mum carrying our frenchie puppy looking for willis. Cancelled. See aboveLast edited: 2015-07-29 14:59:58 by Micky0692

Email alert received in TN37, also saw post on fb saying that he was missing,
Am hoping the lady that was seen carrying him, found him and is taking him to vets to check for microchip this am, maybe she doesnt know the dog wardens are 24 hours in this area... fingers crossed for some news soon x
Micky0692
Hi. Our email address is micky0692@hotmail.com. We are not sure if the wind blew the side gate open, but this is unlikely as it is latched and stiff. Or if the person sighted with him actually opened the gate and took him. The time and place of the sighting just seem to much of a coincidence. Only description we have of her is long brown hair. Thanks for your help and we pray that he is returned as we miss him so much
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Jo E Nye:Is the email address on here the owners please?

I have shared to Doglost East Sussex, Doglost South East, Bexhill Dog Lovers and Bexhill-on-sea Fbk pages.
It would help if we have as much information as possible please. Where and how did Willis go missing?
Please print posters from the poster page and get them up in as many places as possible. That's the way that sightings will come in.
Good luck finding Willis. Last edited: 2015-07-29 03:58:37 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
