So glad he is home :)

This one passed me by. So pleased Theo is home. Please stay close now Theo:-) Great news Sometimes people see a cat, and think they are lost, and feed them.

Great news. What a lot of heartache while you were waiting for him to come home. Next time he does it you will know that he can make his own way home.

It is very worrying, but I have had cats stay out much longer than this that have just walked back through the cat flap one day. Never found out where they had been. Nearly 70 years with cats, so lots of heart ache and worry, however everyone eventually returned home.

Theo is still not home and possible sightings have all been other cats, very worried for this furry fellow now

Missing for a week, he will have been out in those horrendous storms and last nights fireworks both would normally have caused him to retreat to his bed on top of the wardrobe.
More flyers were delivered yesterday but with rain forecast most of the day today it is going to be unlikely that people will be heading to sheds.
Liberty Belle
Good idea to try to speak to the son if he is about.

Privately owned she moved a couple of years ago and has very much isolated herself from what I can tell she does not talk to any of us along the terrace of 6 the rest of although not best mates are friendly and will chat she won't make eye contact or respond to a hello. It could be a language thing I guess she lives alone although a son visits some weekends I will try and catch him if he is about sat/sun.

Comment on Dog Lost Surrey Facebook page: Does your neighbour own her house? If not and it is owned by a Housing Association, try contacting them. Also, try the local Police Community Support Officer.

Here's hoping that Theo will be home before the weekend. There was a cat on Dog Lost the other day who lives in Leatherhead. He went out on the Friday for the first time from his new home and went missing. He returned home safely the following Tuesday.

There are lots of cats around but they tend to all hang out round the back of the houses and on the allotments, if you go to the community centre there will be several at the far end of the carpark which is slightly overgrown, but you rarely see them along the main road.

If there is no sign or sightings over the weekend giving people a chance to get back to sheds etc I am looking at calling in animalsearch uk's search team it will cost about £750 but they are uniformed with ID and may have more success gaining access to sheds and garages and the harder reach people like my neighbour.
I have called the council this morning and given them Theo's details as I had no response initially to my email, he has assured me they scan all domestic animals they collect (alive and dead) and would have been in contact but has said he will give Theos details to both crews for them to keep an eye out.

Does your neighbour attend a local church or local group? If so, ask the vicar or someone from the group to help? Must have driven past your house many times over the years. Have never seen any cats out along Chipstead Valley Road over all those years. They are too wise to go near all that traffic, with buses, and all the parking.

I would contact the local police on to ask the nasty neighbour to open their garage-especially in this hot weather.

You are doing well with your posters and searching. Theo may be answering you, but the building muffles his voice. I have locked several of my cats in my garage over the years. I've called and called but never heard them. Someone on Dog Lost Surrey Facebook page has sent out Theo's poster to many places. Is there someone else who might persuade your neighbour to open her garage?
helensholmes
eeek sorry i was clearly all of a dither on my previous posts so hot from walking the streets with leaflets and posters. I live in front of the community centre at Barrie close nearer the other primary school ( not sure what it is called by the catholic church) but am just a few houses along form Barrie close. I don't believe Theo wanders far when he goes on a patrol he is normally back and settled in the garden within about 40mins if he is not loungin in my garden he is ontop of the garages (domestic) all but one has been opened and checked and i have been out calling and listening at the one not opened( it belongs to a horrible neighbour who will not talk to me (or anyone) she even ripped up the flyer i put through her door and threw it back! I have knocked on doors both ways and have spoken to about 80% of residents who assure me they have checked sheds etc and some of them had children who had been out searching, bless them. I keep phoning the community centre to ask for a member of site staff to check out buildign but keep having to leave a message. I have been to the allotments and called at the sheds I could get to and i did this about 5am so it was quiet I have also left posters and flyers up there and a friend went up during the day and spoken to a couple of the allotment holders. there are posters all along the road with both my number and a free phone number for animal search uk which is sponsored by my insurance company. and local shops have leaflets on counters and posters in windows. should he show his face he should be easily recognized in the area, I am expecting calls about one of my neighbours cats they look very similar! He is registered on Cats aware and cats protection as well as scanner angel the two vets in Coulsdon have been alerted - Anwells and Wingrave as well as the cat doctor. I am currently waiting a call back from the local council :(. I think I have most things I can do covered. I am really hoping he is in a shed trapped somewhere, I know not good in this weather but hopefully people will go back to gardening at the weekend giving him a chance to get out and head home

No the community centre near Barrie close. Theo has never stayed out and always checks in afte a couple of house at most to make sure we are all still here walks round the house to make be sure he know where we all are. Yes in precious hot weather he has wanted to be outside but normally lounges on my decking where he has water and ear scratches on hand !
Liberty Belle
Do you mean your garden backs onto Coulsdon Nursery School in Linden Avenue? I would not be surprised if Theo is staying out because of the weather the last few days. So many cats are doing it at the moment. My home-loving boy has made it quite clear over the last few days that he would rather be outside. He pops back indoors to see me & then is out again. Gone off his food too. I had one cat years ago who disappeared during the warm weather. I searched and searched at all hours. After a few days a neighbour opposite came across to tell me that he was in her garden trailer behind her big conifer hedge. I went across the road and there he was, in the trailer on top of her conifer hedge trimmings that were ready to go to the tip. He had made himself a very nice nest.

We are at the other end to the primary school our garden backs on to the primary school. I have let the vets know a wells and wingrave. Posters are up and around the area and I have been door knocking and leafleting locally the garage across the road has leaflets as does the chippy, chemists and corner shop everything else was closed when I got home. Was up on the allotments at 4 am this morning calling and trying to listen at sheds As well as leaving flyers. I have been up round the community centre looking and calls and of course leaving posters and have called twice to ask ground staff to check the out building although keep getting the answer phone I will try and call from school tomorrow.

Poster circulated to Wingrave Veterinary Practice. Their Chipstead surgery is on the road that becomes Chipstead Valley Road, where Theo lives.

Does Theo live on the same side of Chipstead Valley Road as Chipstead Valley Primary School? How near to that school does he live?

So many cats are staying out at the moment. Leave water out if he does not have a cat flap. Keep calling, especially later in the evening or early in the morning when it is quieter. Put posters up in the shops along Chipstead Valley Road. Give out posters to parents outside Chipstead Valley Primary School at home time. Leaflets through all the local doors and ask people to check sheds and garages and any other outbuildings. He might have got locked in on Sunday and no-one has unlocked since then. Posters up in the shops in Rectory Lane.
