Reading the article again (see link), I note that the dog moved off and the transport police later did a good search and could not find him - seems likely he got off the railway.
Spotted on waggon ways killing worth, Newcastle upon Tyne small white dog big fluffy tail grey patches on back, possibly collie X very scared wet and frantic wouldn't come to me had collar with tag
Any update please? This sounded a bad situation, hope he or she is safe.

British Transport Police have been notified and Nottingham Stray Dogs are helping all they can. According to an appeal the dog is just sitting there scared and not moving, volunteers are trying to trace the owners hoping that if they call out he/she will come to them.
I don't live there this is the website where he is from

This poor dog is on the other side of the rail fence and no one is allowed to get over to get him,he is right by the rail line,gosh he needs help asap
