Doglover123, I checked out the dogs found page and the dog did look extremely like Ace but the lady who knew of the dog sent me another photo and the ears were folded - Ace has very distinctive wolf like ears and they don't fold, Thanks though! There has been no actual sightings of him at all in our area which makes us think that either he was stolen and taken away from the area entirely or something bad has happened to him. We really appreciate all your support and I'll keep you posted if we hear anything. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just wanted to say thankyou for everyone's help. My parents are still looking for Ace and still missing him terribly but have not given up hope of his return. He had been to visit his girlfriend in a neighbouring farm the day he disappeared and as a result, there are a litter of pups. My parents have one now which is great but have not given up looking for Ace. Unfortuantely we have no new leads at the moment. Thanks again for everyone's help and well wishing, my parents greatly appreciate it. Fiona Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It shocks me to the core when I hear of people playing on an owners emotions like this, it is very sad to think that someone out there could be so evil. I know how you feel as Ace's owner, as we have experienced some similar upsetting calls / messages after we lost our Daisy 8 weeks ago yesterday. I really, really hope Ace comes home very soon and remember for all these Evil people there are plenty of us on your side who understand the pain you feel and the love you have for Ace.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This must be very upsetting for Ace's owners, but I really hope that the phoncall does lead to Ace being returned safely..I agree that the offer of a reward may just do the trick if the call was genuine. Please PM me if you find out which area Ace is supposed to be and I will help to check it out.xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just spoken to Ace's owner, they had a missed phone call yesterday & when her husband phoned back a guy said " my mate has your dog" he then started making fun of Ace's owner., no more inofrmation was given re Ace's whereabouts. Ace's owner is very upset I have suggested they get someone to phone back telling this guy there is a reward for whoever brings back Ace - no questions asked.. The owner & I feel if this was a prank call the person would have been more likely to say " I have your dog" & would not lhave left his phone number. The owner is also going to contact the Police. I really hope Ace is found very soon YvonneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was in Paisley over the weekend, manged to presuade 3 shops in Paisley & one in Howood to display posters of Ace & Joy ( missing Dobie), Asda said they could'nt put them up as they had no notice boards but were willing to put posters up in the staff room!, next time I am up I will ask them if it is ok to put posters on the return trolley shelters. The Asda in Paisley services a huge area in Pailey & beyond so I was disappointed, a very kind local bus driver put posters up on his bus as well..I did'nt have as much time as I hoped to put posters out but I did managed to contact/talk to a lot of people & asked them to be on the look out..stay safe Ace I hope you are found very soon xxxx YvonneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was talking to owner tonight, no news of Ace as yet, Ace's owners are so thankful for all the help received from doglost. I will hand in posters of Ace & Joy (missing dobermann) to Paisely Centre , Vets & Dog Groomers on friday when I am back in Paisley, are there any helpers in Lochwinoch, Bridge of Weir who could poster there, from Kilmacolm Ace & Joy could have been taken to any of these places. Try contacting Paisley/Johnstone vets asking them to put up posters, I was in Pailsey a few days ago & for some reason Ace looks very familar... the collie I saw was in the Westend of Paisley..Well Street/Broomlands area, I will be back in Paisley this friday so I will print a poster & take it with me for comparison in case I see the same dog again. yvonne Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters need to be put up in the area on lamposts, entrances to parks, vets, petshops, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins), schools, deliver to houses etc. Handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. rescue centres need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows Ace. xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Repost - "Thanks very much for all your help. Ads were in Evening Times and The Herald all this week in classified section and the Scottish Farmer this Friday. Springtime thanks for help with posters! Nik, any help you can get from NFU would be great. Postcard pics have been given to local police and milkman etc. Pics also gone to various cat and dog homes. Thanks again. We haven't given up hope. x "Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Repost - "It's a mile from Kilmacolm. It's the farm with highland cattle - you may have noticed them. Our guess is that he is no longer in the area as there has been no confirmed sightings of him at all. Local areas still being searched though as he may try to make his way back if he can. They have issued ads offering cash reward to anyone with information that leads to safe return. It may help. Thanks for your help and we'll keep everyone posted if any new leads turn up. Repost - "Ace is from a farm between Kilmacolm and Lochwinnoch - about 1 mile or so from the village. He had wandered up the road to see his girlfriend in a neighbouring farm -he was on his way back and hasn't been since. There are ads going out in the Farmers journal and a couple of Scottish tabloids on Saturday. Will find out which papers. .Fiona "Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Repost - From Owner's daughter "Thanks for that! All leads that we had so far are definately not Ace so at least we're not searching down the wrong track but it does mean that any sightings have not been Ace. He is also a working dog so possible that he has been stolen - perhaps for that reason. It's unlikely he was run over as he has good road sense and we would probably have found him by now. He is very intelligent so we only hope that if he's not too far away he might be able to find his way back. Ads are still going out in papers. Thanks again for everyone's help. Really hope we find him soon. Fiona "Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Repost - From Owner's daughter "I would like to thank everyone for their help and support in the search for Ace. He is my parent's dog and they have been out searching for him every day. We have been amazed by the support of dog lost and they have asked me to convey their sincere thanks. All leads are being followed up immediately but as yet, he has not turned up. Thanks again and fingers crossed he turns up very soon. Fiona "Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Repost - While I was in the pet shop in Johnstone on Saturday a guy came in and said that there was a stray outside his house (the description fitted that of Ace)- the pet shop referred him to our local vet Cathy Wilson in Kilbarchan - she may have details of where they took the dog. Hope that this helps......e mail from one of our local helpers-Have let owners know and they are going to check it out-thanks helpers and good luck ownersLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
