Skywalker99 we hadn't been to track as owner did not have a scent item but then they contacted me last night as they found something so we were on our way and ..............Pippin has just been found! It appears he was down a rabbit hole because he is very dirty and itchy. He is thin but ok and on way to vet now! Last edited: 2015-04-22 11:09:14 by Jenny & Tiga k9tracker

What happened to Jenny and tiga? How did he go missing? Did he run off? You need to listen at the rabbit hoes with a hose and funnel. Last edited: 2015-04-21 22:21:15

Our two dogs are 'bunny mad' at the moment and have their heads down rabbit holes at every opportunity. Is Pippin that way inclined? If so, although you have called down rabbit holes over the football field, I think it's worth checking again more thoroughly. As he is so small, he could have got a long way down one then got stuck. Might be worth taking a torch and spade and really getting down into the bigger ones? I have heard of other dogs getting stuck that way.

I will contact on here Wednesday evening to discuss best search route to take Thursday. Have printed the posters and put one up at the pets at home store on cowdray ave and one up at companion care vets (the vets inside pets at home). I've spoken to a few people today about Pippin who are going to take a couple of walks over there to help with searching, they will report anything on here or to me at work (of course i will post here if i hear anything!)
Sarah

Thanks for putting this info on here .. it really helps as not everyone is on Fbk. The page (as you can see) has had over 1300 views so people are watching it.
Hopefully they are sharing Pippin's page too.
Well done searching and although I am a long way away I can see you have covered a lot of ground and are doing all the right things.
You may well be right about someone having him and waiting for Monday to report finding him. Fingers crossed that this little lad is home with his family very soon. Last edited: 2015-04-19 17:16:23 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Penny an I have looked in ditch all the way round playing field called down rabbit holes , been to the old sainsburys site we got through broken Fench so signs of dog no poo etc , we then did door to door on houses that back onto field where pippen was lost so they are all aware , some of them had seen the posters which is great , we then walked round the outside of field near main road , had a look in sandpit area but nothing and no sighting , my thoughts are that someone has picked him up and waiting for Monday to report to warden , have given the owner all relevant numbers to ring XxxLast edited: 2015-04-19 12:28:47 by Carol

Thanks Carol. If you are on Facebook please check Bella's Angel (Essex-based lost dog volunteer search team) to see what the latest updates are unless they have been posted on here by Sarah. If you are not on Fbk please text/call Sarah to see what would help her most :)

Sarah: I have had a look at the Colchester Dog Warden info and it says that although they do not hold dogs out of hours you can still contact Animal Control on 01206 282581 (Monday - Friday 9.00 -5.00 and contact their Helpline service on 01206 769779 during evenings (17.30 - 20.00) and at weekends (09.00 - 20.00) so hopefully you will already have done this.
Uttlesford Dog Wardens website says: If you find a stray dog outside normal offices hours please call our out of hours service on 01223 849755, and you will be advised on where you can take the dog. So I would think that you would be able to report a lost dog to them as well.
Chelmsford Dog Wardens Out of Hours tel number is: 01245 606511 according to their website.
Carol
I can search with my friend tomorrow , are there any sightings at all or shall we search behind village hall xxx

Oh goodness. Poor little Pippin. I have shared this page to Doglost South East and Doglost Essex. Bella's Angels are already aware of Pippin as they have been helping Sarah since last night I believe.
Glad to see that you have Bella's Angels helping you Sarah as they are very good.

I know that Pippin is missing in Colchester but fm the posts on Bella's Angels page it looks like they do not have an out of hours Dog WArden service. However, I have had a look online and it seems that Chelmsford Council does. I think it would be a good idea to check with them whether Pippin has been found and handed in to them. Their normal hours tel number is Tel: 01245 606606 and their Out of Hours tel number is: 01245 606511 according to their website.

Please get as many posters up as possible (I know you have already done some) I know it must be very hard for you but stay strong.
Wishing all the very best of luck in finding Pippin. Last edited: 2015-04-18 23:41:59 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
