Wondered whether the 2/3 yr old male dog found in Sheffield & taken in by John of Rottweiler Welfare could be Samson as it said that the dog could have been from further afield. Apparently the Rottie's details will be in the Found section tomorrow. Finger' crossed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Shame this was not Samson. Hope this found Rottie finds his owner or is rehomed. What a trauma he must have been through. Jan xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unfortunately this was NOT Samson, the dog found in the same area, is approx 2 - 3 years of age, will be going up on doglost as found, Rottie Welfare are sure this dog has been stolen as used for baiting fighting dogs, so he could be from anywhere in the country, he has lots of puncture wounds on him from dog fighting, there will be a picture available for him on tuesday. Fran, Rottie Welfare are now fully aware of Samson, and will be looking out for him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to john earlier today, unfortunately he was called out on a rescue to a rottie, that had been beaten by two teenagers, the dog had detached retinas and was in a bad way, obviously he had to prioritise , and go to the rescue of the other dog, i am waiting for him to ring me back to confirm he will be going tommorow, sorry for the wait fran, i know it must be agonising for you, lets hope its good news, but as i told you earlier, the vet dose think this is a younger dog, speak to you as soon as i know anything, BC xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fran did you manage to find a proper picture of sampson, if you did could you please email it asap, to zepthedep@aol.com john would like to take it with him, when looking at the dog, the dog has been to the vet for a small injury to his leg, nothing serious, and the vet thinks that the dog is probably younger than 10 years old, so a picture would be a great help, john will ring you one way or the other, fingers crossed the vet is wrongxxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think Rottie Welfare are going there today (Sat), i have to go out to pick up a staffie thats in trouble, so have given Samson's owners telephone number to John, so he will ring them direct, hope to come home and find Samson in the Blue, fran as for the picture, i wasnt having a go at you, admin should notify us if the picture is only of a similar dog, otherwise it could cause confusion, and the dog could be overlooked as not being the dog we are looking for, hope all goes well today, and will check in as soon as i get home, fingers crossed xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

After emailing the poster to rottie welfare, was told that this isnt an actual picture of Samson, please can we make people aware if we are only using pictures of similar dogs, John was taking the poster to compare with the dog in the pound, so just as well i found out it wasnt him, or else he could of been overlooked.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unless you've already done so, it might be worth contacting some of the Northern Rottweiler Welfare Reps: Stoke on Trent: Debbie Ralph 01538 722930 or Carol Bentley 01538 722457, Northern Rescue (Elland, W. Yorks) Pauline Hammond 01422 376984. Also, with all their experience & knowledge, they might be able to offer some helpful suggestions. He's looks gorgeous and looks like he's got his eye on something interesting! Hope Sampson is back home with you very soon. Good Luck! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes,I agree with you Tori. This is one of the breeds that do seem to be misunderstood.Tis best they do not get into the wrong hands. I do hope Samson is soon found. Stay safe sweetheart. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

well said Tori, these breeds are very misunderstood. ive gone back to having a rottie since my staffie, Pirate got killed in dec. rotties are a breed i know and understand and i had 3 before i had pirate. My male rott's name was Samson before i got him but i had to change it because he asssociated it with being hurt. This Samson is such an old boy to be away from familiar surroundings and has to be found. Damp cold weather is no good for old dogs. Get this baby home and safe xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh! This senior boy is too old to be away from his home comforts for too long. He's the same age as Magnum, our Rottie. I am also too far away to help but will be keeping everything crossed 'this end' for a swift reunion. Come home very soon Samson.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hurry home soon to your family Samson, always just a little bit more concerned when Rottie and Dobies are missing, breeds very close to my heart and generally misunderstood by the public. Not close enought to help, but send good wishesxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
