Hi there Sorry she wasn't yours there is however another dog with Scotland Doberman Welfare called darcy she is tan and brown and has been in kennels for 2 years ! I know you said that Joy had a chip but they do migrate somewhat. I have tried to upload the photo but it keeps rejecting the uplaoded photo. Darcy looks quite chunky as you described Joy to be. It says : Darcy is a 6 year old Brown and Tan spayed bitch with docked tail. She is good looking, lively and very strong on the lead, but obedient. Darcy will walk with other dogs but will not share anything with them. She loves her food and can be a bit of a thief. Darcy will chase anything that moves including cats, birds, squirrels and even joggers. Darcy needs a home where she will be an only dog, ideally with an active family who will continue with her training and give her lovely long walks. Alas she has been in kennels for over two years but we are still hopeful that the right owner will come along and give her the home she deserves. For more information please call Sue James Telephone: (01685) 844362 or Mobile: 07789 071738.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please see below : http://www.dogsblog.com/cher-4/ Cher ? 3 year old female Dobermann Introducing Cher, she?s a 3 year old Dobermann who came into kennels as a stray. She is looking for a home with owners who have had experience of the breed. A single person home would be the best as she has a fear of new people and will need ongoing training with this. Any prospective owners will need to be committed to her and to continue with any training programme. Cher is a lovely girl who just needs the time to learn to trust people. She would need a number of visits before she could go to her new home and would need to be the only dog in the home. No children please. http://www.imagepuppy.com/resized/7a1265fff4c8a5711be527402bb2a03b.jpgLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Never give up hope- remember that MANY eyes and EARS are constantly searching for you rescue centres are constantly checked, and Dog Wardens questioned ,even way down here in South West your family has helpers.. [ just in case she was picked up and moved to a different area ] ..get posters out as far as you can ,not just around your Area The big Supermarkets are EXCELLENT So many families move through them on a daily basis....Do not underestimate children's powers of observation either.... Young children point out the posters to their parents - and casually mention that So andSo's uncle/aunt /sister at School found a dog like that...................... Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hoping that this new initiative brings her back into the limelight and that it pricks someone's conscious. I know what you mean Tori about browns not being recognised as Dobermanns hence the reason we spent days following up sightings that turned out to be an elderly Pointer.....Joys has no white on her at all,we have blown up some good pictures and are handing them out showing her markings in detail. There has been a few brown bitches through the local cat and dog home(none Joy)but we have been going to look ourselves now as the staff didn't recognise them as Dobies so I no longer trust what they say on the telephonewe feel really downhearted at how we've been treated by the SPCA homes, they just don't care. No more to report,no leads or sightings.ALL the vets have been great and call periodically to check on progress,it's caused a few hassles for other Dobie owners as they've all had to have their dogs scanned to ensure ownership, not that they mind as they know it's for a good cause!I really wish I had some happy news to pass on but that won't happen until she's home with her family.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Does Joy have any distinguishing marks that might help people to recognise her? My brown Dobermann boy has three white hairs on his chest.....the browns don't tend to recgonised as DobermannsxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Might be worth contacting your local free papers and putting an add in the lost dog section with a picture of Joy. If the current keepers or someone who knows who might have her, are made aware how much she is loved and missed by the human and canine members of the family, they might offer to return her/give information. It only takes one person. Keep your lovely girl at hot as possiblexxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi All,Yvonne I've done some vets in Edinburgh but not further down towards the Borders so ANY help with getting the posters out there would be great and sooo appreciated.I have to say the vets we've contacted have been great, people we know with Dobermanns have been quizzed when they've taken them to several vets and asked if they minded having their dogs scanned for a chip....They were all legitimate owners and had no problem with that, they all knew Joy was missing so passed on the info to us to let us know the vets were checking and taking note of the posterthis has given us a bit of encouragement....We've made contact with the Dobermann rescue and all the clubs.. Springtime has clocked a Dog Found on the 14th AprilDobie bitch dumped on the A19,it says she's black and tan..Have called to verify and left a message just incase..Waiting to hear back... Still searching, postering, scent trailing etc etc...No sightings and nothing to report back I'm afraid...Keeping a close eye on all puppy adverts in the hope something turns up.Lighter nights and nicer weather has brought more dog walkers out so that's always a good thingthe more people watching the better. I'll keep you all posted.....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If you need posters sent out to vets in the Borders/Edinburgh area I will be glad to help..we are out & about walking all over the Borders with our two boxers & we do pay attention to every dog we see, Is there any Dobermann clubs in Scotland? Breed rescue? There is also a webite Paisley online you might want to see if you can get Joy on that ..I tried but I could'nt get to post don't know why as I did register with them..I really hope Joy is found real soon, Im back in Paisley in a couple of weeks hopefully I will get some more posters up xx YvonneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good idea to have a full body shot, as it seems to be the tan marking on the feet in particular that seem to help people make the connection that it's a Dobermann. Obvious to me, but then I'm rather partial to the breed and would recognise all five of the colours! Hope Joy is back where she belongs with you soonxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We encountered the same issue with Joy being brown, standard comment seems to be "I thought Dobermanns were black" so we've got a few good blown up photos one of her profile, one head shot and one full body that we take and show people. We've taken copies that we are handing out with our details on.The positve thing is that locally she is very much in peoples minds thanks to the huge effort made by everyone involved in the search. For the last 2 months we have taken the search far further away,in Paisley there has been a good community spirit with word of mouth being spread quicky.Unfortunately that's more difficult to achieve when you're trying to hit almost the whole of Scotland and beyond. We will never stop searching though,we need to have our girl back with us.... Still have my fingers crossed for Joy and her family. One page that I check regularly. People who saw Jacob out on his first walk yesterday (13 weeks already) either didn't realise he was a Dobermann because he's brown or weren't too sure and asked. Someone even asked me if he was a Lab cross! Maybe worth changing the photo or wording of the poster, so it appears fresh and new to people and might catch their attention again. Also as it's Easter and the children are off, postering leisure facilities like swimming pools, cinemas, parks, fitness clubs ect might helpxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a load of people looking out for Joy & any dobie pups coming up for sale. No problem, I will print some posters & put them in the Vets & dog groomers I know of in Paisley, there is also a pet shop in the Paisley Centre..maybe they will let me put a poster up too, When I am out & about in Paisley I tend to notice all dogs in the street. I asked a friend last night to start asking around who has dobermans .(he works in a scrapyard.) Do you know whereabouts in Paisley she went missing? it could narrow down the places to search. YVONNE, thank-you very, very much for your help.Anything you can do is greatly appreciated.Joy's owners are very determined that they will find her:she has left a huge hole in their lives.Maybe you could look out for ads in shop windows for pups? That would be a great help too, as Joy could perhaps have had a litter by now.13 weeks have passed and there has been no positive sighting of Joy, except for a few heartbreaking false alarms, but there has been no news since Feb so someone is doing a good job of hiding her.Like the James Morrison song, she's not lost, just undiscovered.Joy..your owners are doing everything they can think of to find you and they will, sweetheart.Hope that day comes very soon.xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is a plea on behalf of Joy and her owners to anyone out there who may know anything of Joy's whereabouts to PLEASE speak up now.Joy's owners have gone to incredible lengths to try to find her and still regularly trek the streets for hours on end, talking to dog walkers in the hope of a clue.Someone must be keeping her and she has possibly been used for breeding, in which case there could be pups of Doberman or Doberman cross, being advertised near you in the coming weeks. Anyone with even a snippet of information can post a private message on this site or phone Joy's owners on numbers at the bottom of this page. They will not ask your name or where you are, they will just be grateful for your help, as all they want is for Joy to be back with them safe and sound..it has been 10 very long weeks and for very kindhearted, animal loving people as they are, it is so unfair for someone to be keeping Joy from them for so long.PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.Thank-you very much.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Alex I have sent a pm to admin to update information on her page. Can you send a picture into admin a.s.a.p. then posters can be e-mailed to helpers in your area, helpers can see exactly what she looks like. She has a lovely name and I hope she is reunited with you and your family soon. Regards Jan (Liverpool) xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hope your girl comes home soon. xx NB. Can I just point out it is the SSPCA in Scotland, not RSPCA. They are separate organisations. RSPCA covers England and Wales.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Doesn't this Dobie girl have a name? Small point but the markings are called tan not auburn. Poster as widely as possible, put mini posters through the letter boxes where she went missing, ask your local postman is s/he will help. Also send a poster to your local sorting office. Ask your local binmen, cab driver and milkmen (if you have them) if they will take a poster. Try the radio and local papers and www.findit.co.uk and www.epupz.co.uk, both are national sites and sell pups and adult dogs with and without kc papers. Local pubs are also a useful source of information. Poster vets, pet supermarkets and also send posters to your local dog obedience classes. Contact your local breed rescue and Dobermann club. Hope she is safely home with her family very soonxxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hope this dobie is found soon safe and sound and reunited with her owner. Good to see she is chipped. Lets hope someone has picked her up and will take her to the RSPCA or police etc. With the holiday period some centres are not open. Keeping fingers crossed for her.
