Female brown and white medium-haired cocker spaniel dog found in Hook (RG29) on 24th May 2018

Name: Ruby

Location: Hook, RG29

Sex: Female

Neutered: Unknown

Approx Age: Young Dog

Main Colour: Brown and White

Not yet scanned for a microchip

Other Information: Advertised for sale on Gum tree in Hook, Hampshire. When pressed the owner claims they got her at Christmas, dog is 2.5 years old. No vaccination records, she doesn't know if it's been spayed and the previous owners said it was chipped but they have no paperwork! We think this dog may be stolen.

A family friend of the elderly owner confirmed it was fake found advert of 10 spaniels! Howevershe would like to thank you for thinking of Ruby and one day it is much hoped that it will be her.x

Owner doesn't think it is 87507 on account of age. Ruby is classed as an elderly dog he feels. Thank you for thinking of Ruby.

on 'Dogwatch Alert' Facebook page today: Brown and white springer - youngish has just been found at the turn off to Woodcote this morning (sunday). There is no collar or tag so the plan is to take it to an emergency vets to see if it;s chipped. In the meantime however please ring 07802 259803.

When I spoke to the owner a couple of weeks ago because they had "inherited" the dog from her original owner who had died there is no known photographs at this stage. They were going to ask other members of the family.

Hi Clare, thank you for voice mail, l had previously spoken to the dog warden re the dog on the animal warden site, l did have a look but to be honest the only dog l found was at rainbow bridge before our Ruby went missing, having just checked again this would still seem to be the case, thank you so much for keeping us in mind though it is most appreciated

Penny has telephoned me to say that she will check out the found dog. On reflection, I believe she will change Ruby's breed to Springer Spaniel rather than a Sprocker.

I have spoken to an elderly gentlemen on the above phone number and have also left a voicemail message on the top mobile number reference Willow (Found) and asking them to check. Penny is not in until after 8pm and hopefully will be able to check. x

• Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
